It doesn't matter how good hair cut is if you don't know how to style it after you leave the salon. Been to many salons in many countries due to the my jobs. However, when I asked for a trim and a setting perm of the straight parts of my hair that grew in, what I got was a complete cut and perm. I asked the stylist for what I did so I could maintain the length of my hair; now its at a little past shoulder length. Even while I was having my hair cut, I asked her to not cut it so short, or to put in too many layers. The response I got was "don't worry, it won't turn out too short/thin." Was in the salon for four hours, when in the past similar styles have taken around 2.5 hours longest. Cost me around $200 for an unsatisfying experience. I'd suggest staying away from this salon if you have specific instructions for your hair.

The lady here was nice and knew what she was doing, although the hairstyle i was going for was not easy. When you first walk in, they put a nice silky robe around you, then proceed to sit in their chair to get the haircut. She began with cutting and trimming, then went to wash my hair. Then after drying, and seeing how it all lays naturally, she continued to cut and trim. She did a great job! Total came out to $25.

However, when I arrived today, the staff told me that there was no appointment on record. Instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the situation professionally, I was casually told I could "come back in three hours." There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake, and the attitude felt dismissive and unprofessional. If there was a scheduling error, the least a business can do is take responsibility and treat customers with basic manner. Won't be returning.

I don't get my haircut often so the fact that she can get it done the same way from a lapse of time is great. I called ahead of time just to make sure they were not too busy and they let me know I could come in at the time mentioned. Once I came in, they washed my hair and I sat at the chair fairly quickly with Diane. She asked me questions and I let her know the length and chit chatted. The haircut did not take long and still looked great! I prefer a quick but still thorough haircut and this fits the bill! Diane was attentive and help to suggest things when I asked her about such as losing hair from pregnancy and recommended a product to help. She blow dried my hair and done before I knew it! Another great convenient plus is: she accepts Zelle; cash is the other option, so no cc. Also, there's a chase atm on the same street if Zelle was not an option. They also have free parking for one hour in the back but I've always found parking in the front or on the side streets and just took a stroll over. What's also nice is it's in Flushing but not in the main crowded area of Flushing. Both times I've been there, it's casually busy in that they have customers already in chairs or they might have some ppl waiting for at most is 5 mins and then proceed to get you in for hair wash. Once my hair wash was done, I would be guided to sit in the chair with no real wait time! I don't normally leave reviews but thought this was worthy and I continue to enjoy my experience with Diane! Usually, with asian salons, when you ask them to cut your hair two inches, they'll cut off 4 because they "know better". But this place does exactly as you ask! The oppah who always cuts my hair always does an amazing job. Last time, I asked for light highlights and he advised me not to do it since it would only damage my hair. He really has the best intentions for you (and your hair!). The place was easy to get to, just beware there are steps. My sister had an appointment to get a digital perm so I went & waited while she got it done. For her digital perm, the price point is definitely lower than normal ($250 for a cut and perm) and it took only 2 hours to get it done. The end result wasn't bad, very curly! We'll just have to see how long it lasts.. No one else was there- not busy; she had one person while we were waiting ( a man who got a cut & wash for $50). Anyways, while waiting she kind of "coerced" me (kept asking) to get a haircut while waiting. I looked up the prices online and it said it was only $30-35 so i thought why not; my mistake. She took less than 10 minutes to give me a mediocre haircut & curled my hair with a straightener, and when I gave her $35, she said it's $50. She barely gave me a trim and charged me the full price. that left a bad taste in my mouth to be honest.. the haircut wasn't worth $50 and to charge me that much after i only got a trim is a bit "scammy". Not worth it, esp the drive out to Flushing from Jersey.
