The entire staff was very professional and friendly and since it was my first time, they took me on a tour of the salon which made me feel very welcomed. I called and made an appointment for 7pm the weekend prior. I arrived to my appointment a little bit early, and no one noticed me or checked me in. I was worried that they'd take someone before me who came in after me. As they grew more crowded, I became a bit frustrated. Even when the phone rang, it looked like no one working there even heard it. It rang for almost 5 minutes before a girl finished someone's cut and answered the phone when she went to the front to ring up her client. Then fortunately, my name was called even though I was never checked in. My hair turned out nice, and I understand the upcharge for its length, but I thought it was still a bit costly for a single color/single process at a chain salon. Next time I'd probably take the time to find a local salon, as long as my schedule can allow it.

I scheduled an appointment for my daughter to have her hair highlighted, cut, and blown out. The primary reason for booking the appointment was to have her hair blown out for the first day of school, as her regular salon is closed on Mondays. We added the highlights because there was enough time available in the appointment, and I thought it would be more convenient to have everything done during one visit rather than schedule a second appointment later in the week. Before beginning, Charles explained that because my daughter's hair was long, there would be an additional charge for the color. I understood and agreed to the additional cost. However, about halfway through the highlighting process, Charles told us that he was not going to have enough time to blow out her hair. I explained that the blowout was actually the main reason we had booked the appointment. He responded that her hair was too long and that it would take too much time. My concern is that he knew the length of her hair when we arrived and, at the beginning of the appointment, had already discussed the additional time and cost associated with her hair length. If he had explained at that point that there would not be enough time to complete the blowout, I would have gladly skipped the highlights and had only the cut and blowout done. Unfortunately, when I explained this to him, he simply rolled his eyes rather than acknowledging my concern or offering an apology. That response was particularly disappointing and made an already frustrating situation worse. Charles completed the color and wash around 7:45 p.m., while the salon was open until 8:30 p.m. and there were no other customers waiting. Despite this, he still refused to complete the blowout. I understand that appointments can sometimes take longer than expected, but I believe the issue could have been avoided through better communication at the beginning of the appointment. If there was not enough time to complete all three services, we should have been informed before the color was started so we could decide which services were most important. A simple apology and acknowledgment of the misunderstanding would also have gone a long way toward resolving the situation. Unfortunately, the dismissive response left us feeling frustrated and disappointed after our first visit.

All that happened was that it ended up getting darker and darker and had what I thought was about 3 different shades of blonde. Finally I had it and went in search of a new salon. After a lot of research and a big thank you to everyone for their reviews I went to Bijou. I am sooooooo happy I did!!!! Now going to a new salon you don't know anyone and you don't know who you are going to be working with. Shira did my color and a cut. My word, you could not ask for a nicer person to do your hair. Shira and her boss spent over twenty minutes alone figuring out what products to use to get my hair ash blonde (the color I was asking for at the other salon but never got). Not only was my hair not even close to ash blonde it had at least 5 or more shades of blonde, yellow , orange and my roots. I was there for awhile but it did not even feel like it. Everyone was so nice and the salon is very comfortable. This is one of my favorite cut and colors I ever had, and I have been coloring for a LONG time now. Shira did an amazing job and I couldn't be happier. I definitely recommend Bijou. They are a little pricey but my hair was a disaster and I can't believe what a difference a couple of hours and a great stylist can do. When you arrive you are seated and offered a drink from their drink menu and a snack. (One day it was Italian pastries and I was in heaven) Jacqueline is such an amazing stylist. She is patient and listens to "the look" I'm going for and always follows through with amazing results. I have a lot of grey roots. We've decided to keep my hair lighter to help cover the greys when they come in. The color always looks amazing and we go between highlights and toner to help strengthen my hair. My hair is curly and she gives the perfect cut for my hair type and length. They have R and CO products which I love and by using them at the salon and now at home my hair feels amazing.
