Booked an appointment with them I get there & I was treated like an inconvenience. The hair dresser said to me over & over again that she didn't have time for me meanwhile she was walking back & forth for 20 minutes & asking the same questions over & over. Eventually I took the apron off & just left. Time before this I got the impression that male customers are not welcome unless the owner is there, the hair dresser barely said 2 words to me. Was going there for over 30 years, when they were across the hall. Never going back. Obviously their hiring practices are slacking. read more

I had my first and definantly my last haircut end of Jan. My hair is always parted on the side and length was mid back. I had told her i wanted a cut like the pic I showed her (see attached photo) and she said she could definantly do that and how great it will look. Told her i dont want bangs whatsoever. I had to remove my glasses so I couldnt really see what she was doing, most of the time she was infront of me. She layered the top with very short layers. My hair was suppose to be shoulder length which its far from it, she also used a razor on the sides which i dont understand why.. It looked ok when she was done, gave her a $5 tip but everyones haircut looks good, but the next day when i got up and tried to comb it/brush it, it was sticking out everywhere. No matter what i do to try and make it look half decent, nothing worked. Im embarrased to go out. I wish now i had only asked for a trim. I would have still had my long hair :-( read more

I made a Friday appointment for 1:00 p.m. with Katia. I arrived on time and waited at front desk. No one came to greet me. Eventually I sat down while I waited. No one came so I called them. Then someone came to the front desk to answer the phone. I told them I was here for my 1 p.m. appointment with Katia. She said oh I am Katia, I am still with my previous client, I will be about 5-10 minutes. It is now 1:10 p.m. I waited... 10 min passes no acknowledgement. 20 minutes past. No acknowledgement. So I left. I thought it was extremely rude not be on time for a 1 p.m. appointment (I understand that sometimes the previous client runs longer than expected but 30 minutes longer?) Then to say it was going to be 5-10 minutes and 20 minutes later I was still waiting and no acknowledgment, apology or anything. Rude and unprofessional. read more

I went in and had shown the stylist at the front a picture of the hair cut I had in mind (I have had this hair style for 5 years +) on average it takes about 40 min to cut and style. I sat in the chair only to have the stylist argue with me about length, then my hard part. All said and done, I was in the chair fore 10 minutes at most, and when I feel he has just gotten the base of the cut done he fires me out of the chair to go and finish his coffee. There is a complete lack of care in this facility and i am utterly disgusted with how my cut turned out and do not recommend anybody going to see Sam for anything other than disappointment. read more

When I walked in I was greeted by almost everybody at the front so a very nice start and then Heather did my hair who is an apprentice there. I have been growing my hair out for a few years from a pixie cut, I went in for a trim and style expecting (but not wanting) and inch or so cut off, but heather was nice, gentle, and followed what I was asking for to a T. I was going to go in and complain to the manager about the level of service I recieved last month but it seems to have gotten the previous posts no where. I will give my anger about the store here. How are they still in business? Unfriendly counter staff who are asked a direct question, avoid and distract to something else. Maybe she didn't hear me. Ask again still without an answer. Only 2 of the 3 at the counter gave me this issue. I did eventually find out why I was looking for. Now for the person who I was about to give a lot of money to. She was rude. She complained the entire time. To herself, to me, to other staff. I didn't come to your store to listen to this. I was expecting a relaxing environment. This is a hair/spa is it not? She also during my time ordered lunch, looked around for other people to talk to. I was say something to her and she would either ignore me or shut me down. Now part of her complaining was her issue that I wanted an extra service done. That will take way too much time she says as she yells over the cancel the rest of her appointments. I'll let you know I was in there half the time I was quoted. And I guess I won't ever really know if it was either a rush job or I was given wrong information. So the answer to how they are still open? My guess is.. They make a lot of money, cram in appointments, and do an okay job of the services they are offering. I won't go back and I don't even have perminant scars like the previous poster. read more

Used to come here all the time but my usual hair dresser is on Mat leave. Came in to get my hair curled for a university graduation. Showed a picture of what I wanted (loose curls, nothing fancy), the girl (Kathy) gave me really big, voluminous (and not in a good way) curls, exact opposite of what I asked for. Came home, decided I really hated it and attempted to fix it by combing it out, came back to complain, was told that she was busy with her next client and no one was available to fix it. Paid $50 for the curls and my mom to have her hair straightened and bangs trimmed (which was also botched) Needless to say I will NEVER be taking my business here again. read more

First and foremost this place deserves a negative star rating. My g/f went to hair hunters during May 2012. She requested a hairstyle for her daughter. She brought a picture of the hairstyle, which the stylist reviewed and stated would not be a problem to do. Well...30 minutes later and after showing the picture to the incompetent hairstylist 6 times (yes 6 times) and poof " " gone was her daughters hair and she was magically transformed into a boy! The haircut wasn't anywhere close to resembling the picture. This has resulted in her daughter being continually picked on at school and being quite upset. My g/f did manage to get her money back, however only after having to stand her ground in front of other customers. Then to add insult to injury, one week later my g/f saw the owner (old Italian guy) while grocery shopping and he gave her the stinkeye!!!! Good business practices there pal! IF YOU VALUE YOUR HAIR STAY AWAY FOM THIS PLACE!! I am also aware of a lawsuit paid out by hair hunters to a person whose head they bleached wrong, thus resulting in boils and such forming on his head. I also personally know a person who looked like a freak after having their hair bleached. read more

I really don't understand the bad reviews. Nikki is a great hair dresser and I am always happy with the service she provided. The salon is very reasonably priced. When I come to town I always go to Hair Hunters, have been going for years. This is a great salon. read more

You have about a 50/50 chance of getting someone knows what they're doing. This salon is a small step above first choice haircutters, but nowhere near a good salon. I've been here about 4 times, and two of those times, I got a bad haircut. I was there two days ago, and this was by far the worst haircut I've ever had in my life. I went in for a pixie cut, and she cut it about 2 inches shorter than it should have been. She cut it really short on the sides, and long on the top. I look like Moe from the three stooges. I'm embarrassed to go outside. She just kept cutting and cutting and cutting. She cut it about 5 or 6 times altogether. I think she kept making mistakes and had to keep cutting it to fix the mistake. She cut it three or 4 times all the way around my head with scissors, then once more with a razor. Then she dried it, and cut it again with scissors, then again with the razor. She cut bangs without asking me if I wanted bangs, which I didn't. I hate bangs. She made the decision herself that I should have bangs, so that it will stay out of my face when I'm in the lab. It's going to take months to grow out this atrocity. The other time I got a bad haircut here, the stylist cut off a chunk of hair, held it in front of me and said "is this a good length?" It wasn't. I wanted about 2 inches cut off the length, and she cut a chunk 4 or 5 inches long. I had to let her keep going, since she cut off such a big chunk. And it ended up being longer on one side than the other. It took me about 4 months to grow it out to the length I wanted it in the first place. I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from going here to get my hair cut. None of the "stylists" at this salon are ever touching my hair again. read more

I saved up to spend serious money and get my roots done for an Interview .Hair Hunters always seems so busy so I thought they were the best.Crap, $115.00 later my hair is shorter and my roots darker I look like a scank whore with black roots and blonde hair half way down my head. Save your money go some place else.I should have known they were garbage when the hair dresser said the only reason they were so busy was that they had so many stylists. TO think I thought it was because they were good. My costly mistake . Walmart here I come! read more

A girl who works there named dana chypak? bleached off my entire head of hair...I had 8 inches of hair that took me soo many years to grow out and was left with 1 INCH of hair over my entire head because she over lapped the bleach on my head when your only supposed to bleach the roots..... I later found out that this girl isn't even a licensed hairdresser and that she probably did it on purpose because shes very jealous when I dont even know her?? I am STILL growing my hair out to this day..... read more

We've been going here for years. We never book ahead of time. They are flexible and can take us as a walk in, or if we call the same day and we are always satisfied with the service, the cut, the price, and the staff. We never request a certain staff, but are always happy. read more

After emphatically stating that my hair was "too blond" and that I wanted to go a fair bit darker, I walked out with my hair even blonder than when I went in. Another case of the hairdresser thinking she knew better than I did what I wanted. She knew right away what she wanted to do and didn't listen to me at all. As a result I hated the colour of my hair when I left. I absolutely won't be back, I'm off to find a hairdresser that will do what I want instead of thinking she knows better. read more

If there was a negative star rating this place would get it from me as well as the reveiw from natasha m. I went to get my hair cut, my hair was long.....grown out for over 5 yrs. I asked the girl to take no more than 2 inches off and layer it as it had been layered many many times before. As she was cutting I told her the layers looked really short and I was nervous about how short it looked. She told me she wasn't taking anything of the length that it was the layers and "that when someone tells their hairdresser they're nervous the hairdresser gets nervous!" So as she cut I increasingly got more nervous afraid to say more.....when she styled it, my hair looked like I should be in an '80s rock band it was horrible. I told her that I didn't like it and she snapped back at me saying you shouldn't tell a hairdresser to do their own thing. (Which I did say off the cuff after I gave her the perimeters to stay within!!!!! NOT CUT IT HOWEVER YOU LIKE) I called later that night and complained and they said they thought it looked nice......she cut about 5 inches off of my hair! It may be a nice cut for someone but was not what I asked for. I called the next day to get my money back and they told me if I didn't like it I shouldn't have asked for it. That she spent over an hour on my hair and gave me exactly what I asked for, they refused to give me my money back and told me that I should expect that different hairdressers cut differently. If you treasure your hair DON'T GO HERE! They refused to listen to anything I said and added insult to injury when I called to complain. The worst part of this all is that I never complain about anything, and when I did here they mocked me, and backed each other up taking no responsibility for any of it. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more
