There were several other people getting their hair done too and everyone's hair looked great. 5 star experience.

It's the next day and it is falling into place so beautifully. Not only that, the price was right. I will definitely be returning.

Anyway looking for a reasonable but nice hair salon my mom mentioned this one because I think she had taken my grandma here awhile back? I thought to try it out. I was insanely happy with my hair. Being a mom I rarely like to spend on myself but spending a little here was not bad and my hair looked amazing. It was so soft and amazing for days after too. I also loved the online appointments because when I do wanna get something done it's always so random and it was just great looking at hmm whats available and when can I squeeze in the time. I will definitely be back when this mama wants to cover her greys again plus have nice hair. Probably when my mom offers to pay again to relieve me of that mom guilt lol. Was really hoping to find a good hair salon near me but unfortunately I had a horrible experience…read moreat this spot. This salon was disappointing at best and had very unfriendly service. Left feeling gaslit, with 1/3 requests completed, and now have to wait a year to grow out my hair for a proper cut again. I went to get a haircut where I asked for 6 inches off, 2 set of 2 inch layers, and angles. I also asked for the end of my hair to be "U" shaped rather than flat or V shaped. From the beginning, the store manager, Maggie (unsure of spelling) asked if I wanted my hair washed first to which I said no. I wanted a dry cut since my hair has light waviness and I wanted to make sure the cut would look good unstyled. I went to get my cut with one of the stylist who cut my hair. He was quiet for the most part and he asked very few questions. He did not speak much English. He sectioned my hair and went about cutting it but did not give me layers. He cut close to 8 inches off and made the hairline V shaped. He showed me the back in a photo, and I asked for the line to be softened into a U shape. He could not understand my request, so Maggie came. She said it doesn't look like a U because I didn't get a wet haircut. That logic made no sense, but I asked for it to be fixed. He proceeded to cut but started taking off more from the side instead of the center, which is where the hair needed to be trimmed to create a softer line and make the U shape. Maggie comes back and translates some more but ends up doing the cut since the other man was unable to understand. I also asked her to show me where the layers were. She then says three completely contradictory things. She said you can't ask for that after (I said my request very clearly upfront. My roommate was there with me and heard and also saw no layers, and she was the individual who encouraged me to ask again about the layers). They then said it was not possible to give layers with a U shape (now seemingly saying they can't make the cut as requested), and also said that there are layers but I couldn't see them in the photo they showed me. Telling me both I had layers and that my request was not possible/made later made no sense. Maggie starts to get defensive and say, again, I needed to have a wet haircut and says they are professionals with 20+ years of experience and know when a request is not possible. Mind you, this has been the haircut I've requested for the past 10 years and no other salon had had problems honoring the request. At this point, the salon's threading and waxing specialist (Pooja) comes out and asks what is the matter because it was clear there continued to be a miscommunication and she could hear Maggie raising her voice. She tries to help mediate, pulls me into her waxing and threading room to clarify what I requested as I was getting overwhelmed by the now 5 people talking to each other or at me about what I wanted/what I got. Pooja noted I definitely did not have face framing pieces or layers, but said given how much length had been taken off, it might make the cut even worse. She suggested to just ask for the angles again. I went and just ask for the angles again which Maggie did while continuing to comment on how unreasonable I was being. Regarding the angles, the man who gave me my cut did ask if I wanted bangs mid-cut, which I said no to, so I think he took that to mean no angles/face framing pieces. I can forgive why that did not happen immediately and do think they gave them after. This was the only request fulfilled. They cut off too much, did not give me a U, and definitely left me with zero layers. Not to mention, longer pieces of hair stuck out and the ends looked unfinished. Horrible experience and super unprofessional. Would not recommend to anyone for a haircut. Cannot speak to styling/coloring or their other services but I would avoid such overconfident and rude people in the future. My botched cut came out to $35. Will be going back to Chinatown in NYC next time for my cut. I had a great cut there last time for a more affordable price. It would be the same price even with tolls/LIRR ticket cost and tip factored in.

The stylist does not cut layers well, so please go somewhere else if you want layers. Coloring is good they try to get it as accurate to your picture as possible. I'm ngl the only reason why I still come here is 1. Local business and 2. They're the only place nearby that does Japanese hair straightening and they do that beautifully. Mind you now there's 2 people working, 3 if you count the daughter who washes and blow dries hair. So there's always a wait but I mean it's up to you if that's ok. Where do I start with this awful place I guess I will start from the beginning…read more I went online and I booked my appointment for a women haircut and it said it was 15$ so I thought that was a steal so I paid and booked it. Then I made sure to get there by 12 because my appointment was at 12 I got there at 11:55 and they confirmed I had a appointment I said yes and I paid 15$ online and I wanted to get a haircut and they said ok no problem and let me sit down. At 12:30 the one lady took me and washed my hair. Washing: no communication where I sit She sat me in a chair and said to me about a wash I said ok Then she washed my hair which hurt her nails were long and she was rough. Then she had me sit in the chair Haircut: The guy Alex ham came over I showed him the picture I wanted mind you my hair was to my collar bone area and I wanted a pixie cut he went on about how it was short very short so short after he complained about that he then cut my hair. While cutting my hair he was all over the place and talking to the other employee I just felt like he wasn't really paying attention. Once he was done he took the robe thing off and used the blow dryer to get the extra hair off but left a lot on my arms. He also cut it a bit shorter than I wanted on top but that isn't the end of the world. After I thought a 15$ haircut I gave him a 3$ tip and when I was walking out about to open the door he then said ma'am you didn't pay I said I did pay online he said how much I said 15$ and he said no for your services today it's 70$ before tax so he took the 15$ and deducted it and had me pay the 55$ extra and the tax It was horrible unprofessional and not clear at all and online it didn't even state details on it just a women's haircut is 15$ very misleading they need to be shut down. So either I get my money back or I will take the complaint further. Horrible service and place don't waste your money, they rip people off.

We felt welcomed immediately and were offered something to drink. Tanisha was so nice and funny. She definitely knows her stuff and took so much time listening to what both of us were looking to have done. Tanisha explained all the different types of extensions that are available, which ones would be good for my daughter's hair, and the price for each. She had so much patience and answered all of our questions with kindness. She made sure we had all of the necessary information that we needed to make the decision that we felt would be best, and at no point did we feel pressured to go with the most expensive option, like we have at other salons. I am also beyond thrilled with my haircut and blowout! My daughter and I will be going back to Tanisha in 2 weeks to get our hair colored, and then about a week after that, my daughter will be getting her extensions. This is a big bright shop and you can see that all the people here are comfortable being part of this "electricity in the air spot." There is no parking lot but plenty of street parking both on Jericho Tpke and the surrounding roads. I came here for one topic and wound up sitting in the chair for a haircut... it was not planned. Karina just makes you feel so comfortable and is definitely a detailed oriented perfectionist. From what you see here, her entire staff follows that same model. I arrived and was greeted by the receptionist who was very sweet and was then greeted by my hairs dresser Ann. She was nice. We had discussed side sweeping bags with front laters and caramel highlights. I wasn't informed but she bleached the highlight strands and then added the color. After the first set of hair color my hair came out blond. When Ann proceeded to cut my hair I had to ask if the top of my head was going to be so light. She said yes. So I asked her to put another coat of color on at least the top part. This did make the my top of hair slightly darker. So instead of warm caramel I got cool blondish. The side bangs came out more blunt than I liked (I ended up going home and trimming it myself so it flowed better). And I was charged an additional $15 for having long hair. The woman washing my hair only either applied shampoo or conditioner to my hair... not both. And the last rinse not sure if she applied either. It was more of a rinse than a wash. I may need to get it fixed by another place in the near future..... I won't be going back any time soon as nice as they were.
