Truly a good experience. Got two of my children's hair cut one after the other. My daughter was super chatty and talked with the stylist, Vianca, the whole time and the stylist made her feel special the whole time. Vianca was able to give her the exact look she asked for. Went to hair, Cuttery, me and my five year-old granddaughter. I got a haircut she got a conditioner, which was $47 for both when I got done. I walked over to her after she got her conditioning treatment and she asked to blow dry her hair. she is five years old, I asked the lady to blow dry her hair and I paid before she was done so we were walking out and the girl said oh I need to charge you for your blow dry I said OK she said that will be $30. Jamila was amazing. She was professional and caring. The manager, on the other hand, was rude and overcharged me. I booked a silk press, which I found out the wash was not included, no big deal. The manager or senior staff member came over and started talking to Jamila about the service I was getting walked away and came back and told me, "Today will be $71. Is that ok?" , which was very odd when I asked why so much she told me I had deluxe blow out. I asked her to explain the difference because I had a regular was and blow dry. She said because I had course hair and if someone had really curly hair and straightened it, it would be deluxe. Per hair cuttery site, a classic blowout it's 30mins. A deluxe is 60min. She assumed I had course hair because I'm black, however I do not have coarse hair. My appt was at 3. She started washing my hair about 8mins after I got there. She was done blow drying hair around 330. I left at 345 per the receipt that was emailed to me. So I was charged extra by someone who didn't touch hair to see if it was coarse. I have a feeling if I was a lighter skin tone it would have gone differently. read more

Under BAD management! Terrible service! I had an appointment for color and highlights. However, when the stylist ask me to sit down so we could discuss what I had in mind she said she would do the color but I would need to come back for highlights. I said, no thanks and I left. When I got in my car I made an appointment at a real, legitimate hair salon. I looked for a telephone number to report the incident to the corporate office but there isn't a number to call, weird. I read the reviews and was definitely hesitant on coming here. I specifically wanted a trim and blow dry, just a simple routine hair cut. Well, before going I checked the website for pricing to make sure I wasn't going in surprised. Usually hairstylists can charge more based on what "level" they are. Walked in today for my 11am appointment and it just seemed like a mess at the front desk. The employees solely rely on the computer system for everything and it became annoying when it started affecting my time for my haircut. I got called back only to stand there and wait for her (not sure who my stylist was) to tell me where to sit as she was still struggling at the front desk with another employee. I finally sat down and she was gone again for another few minutes. Without warning, she immediately reached around me to put the apron on, luckily I caught myself before swinging. She asked me what I wanted and I told her that I wanted the "signature cut with classic blowout" package priced at $35 stated on their website. She left to check her computer to see if they can even perform that service. She then came back and told me that there is no such package and that instead I could get a wash and trim service plus blow dry starting out at $48. Make sure to check and call prior to going because they took down their prices on the wall at this location and the prices they charge are incorrect so you would be leaving paying at least $105 just for a wash, cut, blow dry, and maybe some curls. That's what the lady before me paid while I was waiting. Long story short, I did not end up getting my hair cut here. I walked down to Sally's and bought a pair of trimming scissors. read more

If you value your hair DO NOT come here. What an awful experience my daughter had here today. The stylist blatantly ignored how my daughter wanted her hair cut despite showing her a picture and using her hands for the length. This stylist chopped off my daughters hair to 3 inches in length in the back from 9 inches. All my daughter wanted was 2-3 inches of dead ends cut off. So instead of shoulder length hair she has an asymmetrical bob cut just below her ears. My daughter is completely devastated and emotionally distraught. Then they had the nerve to tell her she needs to come back in 4-6 weeks and asked if she wanted to buy any product. What?! Are they crazy? No one in my family will ever step foot in this business ever again! What a disgrace. That stylist (using the term loosely) should be fired. read more

When everything was over, the stylist (cannot remember her name because I could care less - she is Asian) told me it would be $23 plus tip. She didn't confuse my daughter for an adult. I was planning on getting a trim this afternoon here with Keana since there was a 4:15 opening. I recently realized that my appointment was moved up to 3:30, which I went back and fixed it to 4:15. That's when I receive a call from Keana saying that she had to leave at 4 PM. How come I didn't get a call letting me know my appointment was moved up. This salon has racist stylists. I went here on the day of my baby shower to get my hair straightened (I have naturally coarse curly hair) and they kept pushing me back so they would not have to do my hair. I sat there for an hour as they continue to put other WALk-IN clients in front of me even when I got there before them. I said something after the fifth person, they made me late for my own baby shower. I was 8 months pregnant and they made me wait an hour. If they didn't know how to do naturally curly hair or was uncomfortable they should have disclosed that. Although stylists should not be uncomfortable with naturally curly hair since they go to cosmetology school they should know how to do ALL hair types. The stylists blamed it on the black stylist that clocked in and she ended up doing my hair. She did a great job on my hair. There was three stylists in there that I did not have a problem with. The two stylists on the front right side when you walk in is who I have a problem with. Ended up writing a statement for the manager. The manager apologized and told me that my next visit would be free. I will not be back! I wish I could sue or take this to corporate. read more

I had walked into great clips 10 minutes earlier and they basically yelled at me from the back saying that they couldn't take any more customers tonight or so that's how I ended up at Hair Cuttery and I'm so glad I did! I've been here 4 times for a cut, full highlights and a blow dry. All but one time, I've left disappointed. While everyone here has been friendly, some have FAR more experience than others, yet even the experienced don't always do a good job. I've had my hair literally break off in the foils because the girl left them on for too long (she said that's normal). I kept coming back because are a lot of different people that work there, so I figured I would eventually find "the one". Unfortunately, that hasn't happened. I got my hair color done, in this location, I gave the stylist the idea, all she told me is that it can be possible 200 dollars later, the color was nowhere near what I wanted and I had to go home with a store bought color to fix it. I will no longer get services done here. They are good for basics such as blow dry and shampoo. read more

I came to this location to get full highlights done, I have a 6 week old at home and wanted a little "mommy time" and to look nice for Christmas. I was there for 3.5 hours and when I was done, my hair was awful! It was the worst highlight job I've ever gotten (picture included). I told Letha my stylist (color specialist my ass) that I was unhappy and she told me to come back in the morning to fix the blonde. So now I had to leave my son again, when breastfeeding that's not always the easiest to do. I called the salon almost immediately after leaving once I got a good look at my hair and spoke with the manager, Kathy. She told me if I decided to go back to my natural color I would get a refund. Which I felt was appropriate since I paid $150 with tip and would be walking out with the exact color I walked in with. Once I got to the salon the next morning I told them I wanted my original color, both the manager and my stylist pushed to fix the blonde but I honestly didn't trust the stylist to fix it. Once I approved the new color, the stylist told me according to the manager I would only be getting $70 back. I said "okay" mostly because I just needed my hair fixed. Unfortunately my hair then turned brown with red highlights that looked terrible. I didn't think it was possible to mess up an all over color but it happened. So after a 3rd color in less than 24 hours my hair was darker than what I walked in with and I had the worst headache from my hair being pulled, the fumes from the dyes and it didn't help that my stylist walked back in smelling like a cigarette while I was waiting for my color to set. At the end of the process the manager offered to give me back $100 for the cost of color and the toner. I spent a total of 7 hours in that chair over 2 days for a color that I don't like, a terrible headache, precious time away from my son and to top it off extremely sore and engorged breasts because the process took way longer than I ever anticipated. The only nice thing I can say is that letha and the manager Kathy were at least kind about the situation, other than pushing to fix the blonde which I assume was so they wouldn't have to give me a refund. read more

I left crying today! Awful! Went in for the first time. My hair stylist somewhere else was busy and I had an event to go today. I was used to the Hair Cuttery in Raleigh, NC where I used to live and thought it would be as good. WRONG! When I got in they asked me if I was looking for someone in particular to do my hair. I asked for someone that could do hair color and cut. The lady who I thought was the receptionist took my info four times because she could not spell nor type well. Took forever for the same lady to come back and bring me the color palette to try to match my hair color. The manager from afar gave her instructions of how much of each and she left for a long while (I should have run away). At the end she took for ever, not only put hair color in my hair, but also my temples, forehead and ears, And had given me extra freckles In my arms. I had not noticed as I was watching my kids and not facing the mirror. She finally got to clean up the mess when it was late. They had ran out of the special cleaning wipes and another lady had to come and semi clean my face with hair color developer followed by a wet towel! When it was all set and done, I did not allowed her to cut my hair, because I could see she put the wrong mix! If it wasn't for the manager, Keana, who is a very decent person, and a couple other stylists like Betty, who are great at their jobs there, I would probably give this place a zero star. My first time there, Jordan was supposed to give me a shampoo, cut and blow-dry. Awful blow-dry; she has zero patience and she was kinda rude when I asked her to smooth my hair out a little bit more. I wasn't asking for a flat iron finish or anything; just a few more brushes would have done the job, as it did later once the manager took care of it without a flat iron. I was already charged 10 dollars extra for my long hair but I guess that wasn't enough. She didn't even shampoo my hair properly. She had to rinse me again once she noticed that shampoo was still left in my hair -when she started brushing. Bottomline, if you go to this place, don't let Jordan touch your hair. I went in after work for a trim and only had to wait a max of 10 mins for someone to cut my hair. Angel was my stylist and she was awesome! She really listened to me and we talked in detail about what I wanted and needed. I have fine hair but she knew what work best for me and convinced me that layers would work for my hair texture. My hair looks fuller and much healthier, just overall amazing. Angel gave me some ideas about what we could do to my color in the future and recommended products I should try. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and look forward to booking more appointments with her. The cost of a shampoo, cut and dry is definitely adorable and at a great value. There's this one stylist, she looks the youngest of the group, that is absolutely TERRIBLE. I'm a man, and get a very basic haircut- a 2 on the sides and leave about an inch and a half on the top. Not hard right? For her- WRONG. For whatever reason it took her about 45 minutes to do this. I honestly, no exaggeration feel this was her first day and did NOT go to school for this. She had plastic cheap clippers that she couldnt figure out how to use. I honestly felt embarrassed FOR her, because I could tell she was confused. She started by shaving on two inches up from my ear with the clippers. What?? No one gets their hair cut like that! Then she used scissors on the top, and DIDN'T blend the sides. Now when I came in, I came in with my hair styled so she could see what I normally do with the hair and how its cut. Ridiculous. I felt bad telling her to do it over, as I normally never speak up- but this was seriously horrible. *She is the young girl with the front of her hair pinned up in like a bob, and the front is blonde, while the rest of her hair is a dark color.
