UNPROFESSIONAL / SCAMMER - Keshna at Navlte…read more I was charged $370 for a service clearly listed at $185, and there was zero communication about the additional fees until it was time to pay. Keshna extended my appointment by 3 hours, added $45/hour, and didn't say a word during the service about us going over or what it would cost me. Her policy says: "If additional time is needed, an hourly rate of $45 may be added for extenuating circumstances that result in extended time." I understand that .. but I should've been asked before any decisions were made, not hit with a surprise charge after sitting in her chair for hours. That's not a policy... that's a scam. What's wild is that my last appointment with her also lasted 6-7 hours, and she didn't charge me extra then. The only difference? She was working under her sweet and professional sister. Now that she's in her own suite at Navlte, it suddenly feels like she's just milking clients to cover higher rent. I left around 3 PM ... it's giving I was her only client of the day, and she was going to get every dime she could out of me. She told me my locs were in good shape, nothing major was needed, and still charged me as if I had extreme buildup or damage. And she never once said, "Hey, we're going over... do you want to continue at $45/hour?" That conversation never happened. I dyed my hair a year ago and it's been redone since ..so that's not an excuse. On top of that, I booked this appointment over a month in advance, and she texted me at 7:06 AM .. less than an hour before ..with a location change. There was no update on StyleSeat. When I checked the directions the day before, the old shop still showed up. In person, she admitted she had moved a week prior. That's not just last-minute... that's unprofessional. She also chose the final style without asking, even though her own listing says: "Maintenance & optional style included." So why was I charged more for something she decided on herself? I even referred my sister to her ... but the moment I walked out of this appointment, I told her to cancel immediately. I was contacted fast by this location and we set up a meeting and etc. I informed him that I am hard of hearing. He ensured me that all his clients are treated the same and I was in good hands with him, I believe he's the owner. I wanted the girl who was getting a lot of clients but I'll have to wait 2 months for her so I went with him. When I got there it looked beautiful. All these people getting gorgeous dreads and it was black owned, which I love. He was nice at first and asked what I want. But that did not last. Let make this short. He burned me with hot water twice, was jerking my hair and I told him like 2 times it hurted. The dryer was so hot I told him like twice it burning me. People kept looking at me while he was doing my hair as if they was talking about me ( he know I'm hard of hearing) which wasn't cool. I was in there for 4 hours and my head hurted so bad. My babysitter was like what took so long. I basically wasted like 200 dollars . I hate going to the salons cause something always go wrong. But this was the worst experience I ever had and it really traumatized me that I will NEVER EVER GO TO A SALON AGAIN. I am writing this because I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. If you are different than others don't go here. I started my dreads on my own . The one he did looked like shit . He clearly didn't know what to do with my natural hair type . He even kept asking me if I had a perm. My hair worked better with gel. I wax. I have soft curls. My dreads look really nice due to ME. I did like 3 attempts before I got the look that I wanted which is free. If you want to start dreads. Please take my advise. Do it yourself.
