My first stop was Studio One and I was greeted warmly and told I could see Kristen in a couple minutes. She was warm and I could tell that she understood color and understood what my needs were. She spent ten minutes talking to me about my hair and asked me lots of questions. I knew that no other salons would be necessary...... she was my new hairstylist!! The next day I came in and she colored the gray, gave me highlights, low lights and cut my hair perfectly. I could tell before she even styled my hair that the color was perfect. Prices were more than fair, everyone was very nice and it is a salon that makes you feel very warm and fuzzy. Kristen has 20 years experience and it shows. She is very sweet too. I am so happy that I found Studio One and especially found Kristen. Don't hesitate to call and ask for her, you will not be sorry.

I hate posting negative reviews but I really can't stand what happened to my hair here. I came in…read morefor just a trim. I just moved to the area and wanted to try out a salon before getting color and such and figured a trim was a good place to start. Everything there was fine. Frriendlyy staff, everything was time efficient, lovely salon. Then I noticed how my trim of my hair that went down to my belt was now at my waist/bOttom of my ribs. So we're talking like 5". That was beyond unsettling but then I noticed the worst. One side was about 2" shorter than the other and my ends were completely destroyed, like more split ends than I came in with. I called to complain and the owner fixed the issue with a dry cut. My ends are now a complete nightmare but because my hair is already so much shorter than I wanted, I don't even want to go remedy this yet and my hair looks like a wreck. Maybe my experience was rare but I can't fully express my full disappointment and maybe I can help someone else out.

I come in about once a week for blow outs with Gina, Ashley or Dana, as I pretty much became addicted to blow outs last year due to the convenience and how epically nicer my hair turns out, and stays, when they blow dry and style it vs. my abilities to sleekly dry my medium-long, somewhat thick hair. It's so worth the ~"bang for the buck" to let them work their magic. I've also come for cuts and color, which have worked out beautifully, and for airbrush tanning, which is, well, also a little addictive! It's a family-owned salon that's been around for decades, with a really welcoming, cheerful vibe on the part of both the stylists and clientele ... Just a really comfortable, enjoyable place I can count on to consistently keep me in a good mood.

Got my haircut sept 2nd which was great-- can't remember if it was Nicolette or Natalie but the stylist was super transparent with me which I loved. The hair color is a different story. I was going from brunette to a full head of blonde highlights, my colorist was Terry, and she destroyed my hair completely. This was my first time dying my hair, she told me she used 4 different types of bleach in my head so I didn't know (at the time) that this was BAD. She put me under the hood dryer and left, my nose and eyes were burning so badly from the bleach I could barely breathe, I had to find a different stylist just to ask if I can be done with that thing. As we were looking at my color in the mirror, I tried to ask her nicely why the highlights look "choppy" on the top of my head-- I was NOT happy with them. She basically tried to gaslight me and said that it's supposed to look that way because I wanted highlights?? The highlights were uneven on both sides of my head, and my hair was YELLOW. To top it off, she got bleach stains on my sweatshirt, even though I had a cover on. How do you even manage to do that? Terry was nice/welcoming from the beginning, and I still tipped her 20% because this was my first time and I was clueless. But I NEVER went back after that experience. Could've gotten some sort of reimbursement for my sweatshirt at least because that was plain messed up. If you have darker hair and want to go lighter or blonde, please DO NOT go to Terry.

I have naturally very dark hair and have dyed it blue-black over the years. Two weeks ago I…read moreimpulsively decided I wanted a change for the spring time, to go from black to cherry red, and chose to go to Salon Norman Dee as I had found this salon years ago and never had any issues. Due to my previous hair dyes, I was informed it would take multiple sessions but at the very least I would leave with a cohesive even color, unfortunately, that was not the case. I sat at this salon for 5hrs...five hours...my entire head was bleached and this was the result I was left with. Due to my own personal time constraint I was unable to be fit in for a cut/blow dry, nonetheless, I sat at the salon for 5hrs to be left with horrible, dry, damaged, and unevenly colored hair, all at the cost of $300. I contacted the owner, Christy, who had requested for me to return, but considering the circumstances I was hesitant and rightfully so. I chose to go to a different salon to have my hair corrected, and they were heaven sent. In the same 5hrs Salon Norman Dee took to destroy my hair, this other salon not only properly bleached it, but dyed it, applied a hydration treatment, and gave me a cut/blow dry...all within 5hrs. I have waited for a response from Christy for 3 days now, don't expect any sort of compensation/reimbursement even if you paid for a service that was not provided. (the beautiful cherry red blowout pictured is NOT from this salon, save your money and go elsewhere)

My only issue is that I told her that I have a dry scalp and I asked her to use a dandruff shampoo. I understand a little spanish, so I heard her ask another stylist if they had any dry scalp shampoo, and the other stylist replied that they didn't. Instead of telling me that, Flora just kept shampooing. I'll definitely go back, but next time I'll take my own products. UPDATE - I went back and Flora burned the DAYLIGHTS out of my scalp. I was quickly reminded of why I'd sworn off of Dominican salons a while ago. I won't be back.

A Hispanic co-worker sent me to this salon to see Flora. Each time I called I was told Flora was off or out for a couple of days. I eventually just walked in and took the first available stylist "Mirva". She did a great job. My hair had never been that straight post-relaxer. I continued to visit this stylist every two weeks until she pissed me off by taking another client and having someone else work on me. No ma'am--- I switched to Edwardo--and he was amazing. He styled my hair with the pizzazz; pin curls; and feather bangs. I stop going for a while when Edwardo rested the hot blow dryer on my forehead--ouch! It later blistered and left a scar. Ohhh....this salon charges extra $5 for naturals (that would be Black/Afro-American who don't have relaxed hair). So instead of paying $25 for wash and style like everyone else with kinky, wavy, curly hair we have to pay an extra $5. Deep conditioner is $10/extra. Salon is descent, spacious, clean, orderly, and neat (bring your own toiletry often out of toilet paper). Location + Appearance + Price + Hair + Technique + Overall, this salon has good stylist (when they figure out what you like). I would definitely return to the salon.
