I understand that if I show a stylist a picture and I am trying to achieve that look...and it's not possible...tell me. Don't say you can achieve that look and then give me color that is not even close to what I was inquiring about. Balayage? Don't think so. I can't even describe what color(s) my hair is now. Ugh. Someday I'll find a hair stylist for me in Columbus...someday.

There are a lot of products, plants, and service options, so you could spend an entire morning here! Emma did my blowout, and I felt totally taken care of. My hair hadn't been washed in about a week because I have it colored & am waiting for my new shower filter so that my hair doesn't get brassy from my bad water. She was so sweet, asked me what products I usually use, and I left with my hair looking as good as it did the day I got it colored. I loved the curls she added. Then I went to get my nails done, and they look better than they have in 2+ years! The quality of my French tip is amazing. I went to the store right after, and the man at the checkout counter told me he loved my nails & that they looked so clean. Thank you, ladies! I need more Saturdays like this.

As someone who grew up just chopping…read moreup the hair at home (wahaha) or lowkey being bullied at auntie salons, I've never felt quite comfortable approaching a hair salon. However, after being recommended the place by a friend and scrolling through the Michelle Michelle (and affiliated!) instagram, I felt excited to entrust my hair to the team. When I arrived at the location, I lowkey thought I had accidentally pulled up to an abandoned school building but as soon as I stepped in the salon, it seriously felt like I was transported to a different space-time continuum. Whoever did the decor was dedicated to the theme of, "colorful + queer as fuck + plants many." Applause all around obviously. Not only was Mollie, the magician who did my hair, incredibly friendly and down-to-earth, but everyone in the salon - from the other artists to the clients - made me feel so welcomed and included. The whole process of consulting, snip snipping, bleaching to high hell, and adding (non-Team-Rocket-red) color was way less complicated and stressful than I thought, thanks to their non-critical and collaborative approach. This is not at all a snobbish establishment; rather, everything from the way people present themselves to the conversations happening throughout the space encourages you to feel safe to be yourself.
