My favourite spot in the world! I love the spa. What a great way to remove stress and let someone…read moreelse pamper you. I have never been to this particular spa but I had to stop in to pick up my boss a gift card. The staff was so helpful and nice. The place is beautiful and relaxing. I will definitely go when I find the time to go. They are pricey but that is to be expected since they are one of the nicest spas in Metro. I will say that the parking is terrible. Just be prepared.

I bought some sandals, non-toxic nail polish and nail polish remover. I booked an appointment and payed for it in advance for 25 dollars. I missed the appointment because I was too young to drive. My spending money was from babysitting money. I explained this to them at the desk maturely but they basically said frick you, you missed your appointment kid so we get your babysitting money and were very mean and rude about it. It's been more than 10 yrs and I still feel disgust when I drive by that place. It's beautiful on the inside of the spa despite being kind of ugly or at least plain on the outside, I like how they are into some eco-friendly stuff but if they treat vulnerable youth like this, who knows how they treat other vulnerable customers. Could be ripping off customers with dementia, disabilities etc. They have no sense of ethics as a business and it has a snobby and judgemental atmosphere that keeps you from fully relaxing, despite the otherwise lovely set-up with flowing water, nice lighting and whatnot. I was getting my eyebrows threaded there once and the woman who was doing them interjected and pointed out my cystic acne when that wasn't even what I was going to say. Then she started shilling Dermologica anti-acne products. I don't have cystic acne anymore because of Accutane, not because of anything OTC including overpriced brands like that that just have sal acid most of the time and are really nothing special. It's wrong to exploit people's insecurities like that to sell things. Going to a spa should be about relaxing and making you feel good.

EDIT - THEY DEFINITELY MADE IT RIGHT!…read more I would like to say how happy I am with how Gentle Touch made my below complaint, completely better! They offered me a full refund for the extra charge that I was not expecting to pay, and I am a very happy customer now! ........................................................................................... I had a gift card for a massage and manicure. When I walked in to book I handed the lady (can't remember her name) the gift card and said "I want to book this" so, she set up an appointment with me for a couple days later. I had asked if I could change / pay extra to have a pedicure instead of a manicure (because I find manicures just chip in a day or so anyway, and aren't worth it (the GC was a gift to me)) this change apparently wasn't possible. Ok, that was pretty annoying, but I wasn't that upset about it , free manicure, whatever. When I showed up for my appointment, all was well. I had the massage and it was wonderful. An hour long of very professional, great, relaxing service. The whole time I was thinking I would definitely be booking again for a massage. Loved it Kelsey was fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed the massage. The manicure was great too, until I was escorted out as soon as it was done, not being able to sit and let it dry at all, so 3 of my nails smudged before I even got to my car. (They did gladly help me get out my wallet and gift card, which was nice). I figured, I knew a regular manicure was just going to chip anyway so whatever. Up until then, everything was fine, it was when I went to hand in my gift card that I became severely disappointed and upset. I was told that the gift card covered $92-something of the amount, and that I still owed $63.25 ! I said, "What? I don't understand, the gift card was for what I had booked?" to which I was told (and shown on the back) that the gift card was for a 30 minute massage (not the hour that I got), and a manicure... Ok... so clearly someone made a mistake. Yes, it was written on the back that it was for a 30 minute massage and manicure, but I had handed the gift card to the lady when I booked and said I wanted THIS booked. So, she, being the one working there, should have booked the service that was on the gift card. I didn't know what she booked in, she just gave me the date and time. She had looked it up apparently and told me the reason I couldn't change to a pedicure was because the gift card was bought on a deal, so obviously she should have booked for that specific deal , as in the 30 minute massage, and manicure, not for an hour instead?? I would like to hope that it was just an honest mistake, but I feel cheated and don't think it's fair that I had to pay an extra 60-something dollars for a service that should have been free and a relaxing, enjoyable experience that was a gift to me. I would have happily only had the 30 minute massage that the card was for, but I didn't realize that she booked me for an hour, nor was I paying attention to the time while I was in the relaxing massage setting. I don't appreciate the only response from the girl who was taking my gift card, when I expressed my shock and confusion, all she said was just "oh, sorry" and then expected my payment. I really did enjoy the massage and Kelsey, and I realize it was a mistake/miscommunication, but no effort was put into fixing it, and this all just changed my relaxed appointment, and left a bad taste in my mouth and I will probably never book there again unfortunately.

The lady who booked my appointment was very friendly and professional, so things got off to a good start from there. When I arrived for my appointment, I only had to wait a few minutes until I was escorted into the treatment room. I cannot recall the name of my esthetician, but she was a seasoned professional and it showed. The entire procedure - full face micro plus a calming masque - took about 30 minutes. Micro is an odd sensation but not painful. Application of the masque was very thorough and relaxing. When it was all said and done, my esthetician told me that Tuesdays are half off micro - naturally, they are kept very busy with this deal! I had a nice chat with the receptionist, who was a very pleasant lady, and left feeling happy with my experience. I may very well be back in the future for another treatment!

I convinced my friend it would be a good opportunity to get a mani-pedi together, so we thought that we'd try MK out. Owing to the fact that this business is run out of her home, the setting seems a bit odd at first, but immediately becomes comfortable and, of course, homey. Maria has been in business for many years in various locations, but now runs everything from the comfort of her own house. Maria uses OPI products and provided us with a great foot mask and scrub. She's attentive to detail, and we both had a lot of fun trading stories and relaxing while we had our mani-pedis done. If you are looking for a relaxing place that is much less fussy that a large salon, I'd suggest you trust Maria. Prices are fair and her selection of polish colours are great. Also, she has a range of products available on site, too!

Her salon, which is within her very respectable home, is amazingly calming and lets me release any stresses of my life while I am pampered with a pedicure, manicure, facial, hair cut or body wraps. Being apart of her email distribution list keeps me updated on the excellent specials she releases. (Sometimes I purchase multiple purchases up front at a discounted rate, and then it allows me to make sure to take time for myself throughout the year, everyone needs a little deserved R&R :)) Thanks Maria for your continued great service! I feel compelled to remove a Remedy Spa star based on my experiences here in the last 6 months…read more What with being a pretty big fan of this spa when it initially opened I was (evidently) one of the first people to end up on the spam list. I remember why I had initially forked over my contact details to RS and it was because they occasionally have open house events where you can try products and even receive free (micro session) services like paraffin treatments. Uhh, free spa services!? Show me the dotted line! Several months later I did however start to notice that I was receiving multiple promotional offers/month in my email as well as being sent junk mail in snail mail version! Haughtily, I informed RS that I wanted to receive no more junk and yet somehow still receive the occasional email... At least the paper waste has stopped... I guess? My second gripe with RS was over an encounter I had in late July. I even booked this 50% off wax session from Vancouver, weeks in advance... I was THAT pumped about being back to the land of reasonably priced lady services! Upon arriving, I had an extremely awkward conversation with my esthetician about what *type* of service I would be getting. Trying to cajole someone into ripping MORE hair from between your legs is, I assure you, uncomfortable even for an extrovert. Perhaps you have had this happen before? Where you have been inadvertently booked into a smaller time window than your desired service will take? The real crux in all of this was that whomever I had booked with had not asked which service I wanted and what ultimately came to light was that my wax lady had NEVER DONE A FULL BIKINI WAX BEFORE. She was therefor too nervous to try on me (hey, me too once I found this out!) and I ended up paying for and leaving with a) not the service I had wanted and b) a rather crooked and sloppy job upon at home inspection. To be fair, we've all started new jobs before and I guess there's no school for bikini waxing with faux hippy bush dummies to practice on but come on... I hope my next experience at Remedy is more customer oriented! I will for sure be clarifying repeatedly in future which service I want as well as requesting a more experienced wax-er.

When I reached the tastefully designed landing, the smell of warm citrus was like a veil, calming me instantaneously and giving me the desire to be fully pampered. I entered into the small space and was greeted by sunlight and shelves of properly placed products. The lady at the desk was on the tele, so I grabbed a pamphlet and perused the skin care goodies. While reaching for the price list, I noticed an assortment of alcohol bottles and martini glasses - I was wooed right then and there into wanting a Sex & the City moment to call my own. The Farmhouse Fresh products looked sassy and sweet, with yummy smells and gorgeous packaging. There was a foot treatment called the Honey Heel Glaze, selling for $24, which looked like a lovely product. Remedy also carries OPI nail products and a variety of other soothing and rejuvenating luxury items to make your epidermis glow! I loved the look and feel of this place and was glad I opted to head up the stairs to check this place out. The smell alone is enough to calm even the most wound-up of souls, and should be a service in itself. I adore this Facial Bar and would love to have a treatment here.
