This doctor is calm and extremely respectful and knowledgeable even in the midst of my rare neurological case. Best of all, when I've been hospitalized (from emergencies due to the condition) Dr Potluri always responds quickly to the hospital neurologists' calls. The fact that he is contactable for his patients in an emergency is something that puts him in a cut above the rest. His staff and receptionists are also worth mentioning, they're efficient and caring. They'e done everything to provide me with mobility accommodations including wheelchairs at the office and Telehealth appointments.

I left the first appointment with him strongly making me think I had MS. I was stressing and spiraling so much from him having me think I was going to get a strong positive diagnosis after my mri. He was pretty unsympathetic and cold and just his delivery of the whole circumstance was so off putting thinking back on it. My mri came back with no signs of MS, so he ordered blood work and after that he tried to convince me I had another disorder. Overall I feel like he was really trying to find an awful diagnosis for me instead of just saying, "im not sure but we'll do the tests and see." I feel like he should air on a more neutral or optimistic side instead of reaching for a diagnosis. I wouldn't not recommend seeing him based on my experience.

He has always been receptive to my feedback about medication, made progressive suggestions and we were able to find a regimen to help regulate my condition fairly quickly. These headaches are pretty rare, so companies don't invest in research and there is no cure currently, so being able to regulate it is the best I can hope for; I have spoken to many people who spent years being misdiagnosed or with doctors too stubborn to let them try medications that I can confirm work. I would highly recommend.

Today I received 2 messages with a threatening tone demanding she know who I am. If this contact and context of her messages doesn't solidify my earlier review boy! In the 30 plus years I've been a patient I HAVE NEVER MADE A COMPLAINT. This lady is a ticking time bomb. Why does she insist on knowing who I am and then tells me not to hide!? This individual has access to my medical records and is demanding to know who I am! I hope Martinsville and Atlantic healthcare review her behavior and determine she is clearly not fit to deal with public! It's funny how she says she's been there five years and all the complaints reference this place going downhill about five years ago! Every review reads the same we used to love Martinsville family practice, and the staff but now they are extremely rude and unprofessional, really sad! I just text one bad Apple and now there's two!

This was a really great visit day with my adorable 89 year old mom-in-law. This lady is as sharp as…read morea tack in a petite and a little bit of a frail body. She will flat out tell you "I have no pains, why do I need a doctor". So we arrived today and go thru what everyone does at the first of the year...provide proof of insurance is the first thing the doctors office asks for...Ask an 89 year old woman this and the response is "Why"? Thankfully this is G's mom so he gets to deal with the stubborn parts of this issue, I get to stand back and be the angel of a daughter in law....which translates to being agreeable. After this insurance issue is handled its sit and wait time. Thankfully the wait time was in reason for what an 89 year old lady thought it should be. Whew! I was offered the chance to go back for the appointment, but I politely said it would be to many in a room so I would just wait in the very lovely waiting area. Patients went in one door to see the doctors and exited thru another door. The process seemed very streamlined and efficient. The wait for her to be finished seemed just about right for a doctor visit. She came out from the appointment with a smile but then said the doctor wanted her to exercise, which turned that smile to a bit of a snarly snicker. My response was, "well hes just trying to keep your muscles strong so you dont fall, and if you walked more maybe that would be good". The best neutral response I could give a stubborn little lady. We headed home with additional questioning of the new exercise routine. Whatcha gonna do??? Sometimes older people are just stuck in their ways, but thankfully a doctor with a great demeanor can persuade even the most stubborn of older ladies to exercise. Next check up in 4 months with and exercise plan in place. I might want to miss that visit.
