It was my first time here and I came for Coolinary. I also had the Cucumber Salad and Gyoza to start with, but I didn't get photos. The sushi was really good. Fresh and the tuna was truly spicy! Ginger marg was amazing! I plan to return!

Yes! Yes! Yes! We landed here by chance. They were open, we got a great parking spot, and they had a ramp for a member of our party. We loved it. We got ramen, hibachi, sushi, and spring rolls. The server was beyond gracious and accommodating. We will return on a future trip to NOLA.

I ordered the Gyoza (5 pieces) as a side through Uber Eats, and they were fantastic! The potstickers had a subtle hint of ginger, which added a nice depth to the flavor. They were perfectly pan-fried--lightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a deliciously savory filling. I'd definitely order them again!

I had dinner with a friend to try their Coolinary menu, and I'm so glad we did! The service was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was delightful.

Veggie fried rice.

I got takeout at Haiku after a bad day. The fried rice was tasty... although I admit it didn't have enough egg for me. Couldn't find any in there actually? Perhaps they though I was vegan since I'd ordered the vegetable version. I ended up scrambling and and adding some of my own which was an easy fix. The crunchy roll was nice and plump. It was a bit too fishy for me... crab salad is usually milder, but it had great texture so I did finish it. Overall rating. Rice: 4.5 stars. Crunchy roll: 3 stars.

I highly recommend Haiku Sushi if you want great sushi woth simple surroundings. The sushi rolls were fantastic. In addition to the rolls I photographed, we also ordered the fried calamari roll, which was yum in the tum. Another great thing about Haiku is that they have a full bar, whom is always a plus. The service was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance is definitely lacking, but the food and the cocktails make up for it. I highly recommend Haiku sushi for a low key, but delicious dinner.

White G Six Roll Special

Visiting from out of town and our local friends said this is the best sushi around. Fortunately we were already in the area and it fit the quick bite we were searching for today. You have to find street parking nearby which shouldn't be the biggest issue. There's a really nice outdoor patio eating area which looks modern then there's a very traditional Japanese decor interior. I ordered the G6 which is everything I hoped it would be in flavor. My ol' lady ordered the white ninja and spicy tuna. The spicy tuna was an OK filler but the ninja stood out. The Wasabi sauce really creeps up on you and takes a solid 15 seconds before you notice it. Be warned that it has some serious bite! I loved it and highly recommend it. Just be warned because I don't want to see any complaints about it if that's not your speed. I'm sure there are easier training wheel type rolls for the weak at heart lol.. The service could've been a lot better tbh.. the lady didn't really check on us and the fried rice that we ordered literally came after all of our rolls were consumed. Overall it was a good experience that I'd suggest giving this place a try. Everything seemed pretty fresh too,

Looking for a new sushi spot and found this on yelp. It's located next to New York Pizza. I ordered the food online from their website. I ordered two rolls. Everything was just okay. Again another place where if you're craving sushi it will hit the spot. I will try again in restaurant.

Kenji Omakase will be a new annual special occasion go to. Japanese Omakase experience and style, a one of a kind food experience where every course is a harmonious blend of flavors, textures and eye appeal. The sushi chef talks you through each course after he places it on you platter. I asked if these were supposed to be eaten by hand if you wanted to, he agreed most people traditionally eat these that way. The flavors were buttery and tangy, textures delicate and sometimes a small crunch with fried scallions etc. We had tuna, ocean trout that was Similar to salmon but a different shade of orange, scallops and finished with waygu beef. It was amazing with each course the flavors seem to improve. A great experience, if you are any type of sushi fan or even on the fence, this could easily make you a sushi lover. I give this a complete recommendation. Try Kenji you will be very happy you did. The ambiance was fun also traditional Japanese. I may have Mis-named a few photos but know they are all just incredible journeys across your palate, hard to describe, melting with texture and flavors.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure if I agree with the current ratings of 4.7 this place has (as of Feb 2,…read more2025.) To me, based on our experience tonight, it's none other than a super over-hyped sushi restaurant that only has a high end feel to it. Service: was decent. We arrived at the place 11 minutes before our reservation time of 5pm. Since my daughter works in the restaurant industry, as a politeness, we didn't go inside until 4:59pm even though one of the workers came to the door and unlocked it at 4:51pm. Once inside he knew we were the 5pm reservation. He was polite but somehow his whole demeanor lacked friendliness. Menu: Even though the drink menu was an actual physical one, the food menu is online. How strange. After scanning the QR code, we were hoping to see a good selection of food items. But to our surprise, the food menu is/was very small. Actually this place's main thing is nothing but "omakase" where if you choose to order from the a la cart section, the choices are so limited (we were here in town from Denver, CO. After eating some deep-fried stuff for the last few days, we felt that we were truly healthy food or salad depleted; just to clarify, we didn't show up to to this restaurant just to eat salad because after all, this is a sushi restaurant. We love sushi. And yet we were hoping for some decently sized salad. Unfortunately none is/was found on the menu. I even personally asked the guy to see if the sushi chef could whip up something but he gave me a nonchalant no.) We still believed this place could do some magical things so we ordered a bowl of miso soup, oyster tarter (lobster tarter replacement), tuna, salmon and yellowtail nigiris. Miso soup, for the price of $10, was extremely small. Also the entire soup was lukewarm to a point where the center of the small tofu pieces was still cold. Ugh... All the nirigis tasted fresh but I didn't care for the sweet sauce (mainly used for unagi/eel) on the salmon nigiri. Why?? I've never had a salmon nigiri prepared this way.) The only item that was impressive was the oyster tarter (not on the menu as this was the replacement item for the lobster tarter.) This was excellent where we could have easily ordered another one but at this point, we didn't want to spend anymore $$ as all items on the menu are not cheap here. We are a fan of yuzu. The only dessert item (once again, there is only one dessert on the menu) is yuzu tart or something like that. One of the sushi chefs informed us though that the online menu hadn't been quite updated for this so he said it would be a yuzu sponge cake type thing. We decided to give it a try. This, however, failed to impress us either as it was a very much average sponge cake, nothing more at all. We didn't order any drinks besides the water so the final bill was about $75 with some change. Well, tonight's overall experience of ours didn't justify this amount in any way possible. There was another sushi restaurant that had the similar ratings with similar location (when we searched it yesterday.) Maybe we should have chosen that one instead. Disappointed....

We started with cocktails which had fun twists in flavor. We ordered the Omakase and upgrade one fish dish to the Wagu beef ($50). I dug in, forgetting to take a photo. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasty, including some unique ingredients like ginger imported from Japan. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough. If the chef is reading reviews... switch the miso soup with a mini-ramen to give the meal more substance.

Posting little late as i finally got time to share my view…read more.. Went for my birthday with a group of 9 and i had a high expectation in terms of food and service and it was excellent. Greeted by hostess and wished me happy birthday while they were making some adjustments to my table, my table was giant, chandelier was nice japanese style, lighting was warm and i liked the big table as i always like to order lots of food with no budget at all, Server greeted us with smile and explained the drinks menu first took our drinks order and then gave us a food menu which also explained in english as some of the words were in japanese. Drinks came on time and food wise some appetizers came on time and some took way longer which is fine as long as food kept On coming thats all matters to me and my guest. Main course was hot and every presentation of the food was impressive and photogenic. I Liked the big rock ice cube with the restaurant logo on it. I ordered every dessert they had on menu and all of them were amazing. The only thing is i was expecting atleast 1 dessert complimentary since i spend $3000 and ordered everything on the menu that could have been a nice touch... order includes 2 sushi basket/platter where each sushi is $7-$10 so be careful when you buy sushi platter without looking at the price. We had two vegetarian guest and they were satisfied very well as the restaurant also had lots of options for vegetarians and other dietary needs. Below is the picture of my food hope you guys will like it.
