As a HK native I braced for something that was going to be heavily modified for a completely different palate. To my delight the food here was very faithful to its root flavors and was an excellent representation. The dim sum selection was delicious, I especially enjoyed the shrimp balls, egg roll, and seaweed roll. The stir fry dishes were very good as well and I think the brisket was notable stand out dish. At the end we had a nice hot custard pudding with tapioca pearls. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated and furnished and the staff was so pleasant and friendly, they arranged a nice setting for our large group and we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The staff member who was our primary contact was even so kind as to give me some beer glasses to take home when she overheard me telling another diner about getting some as souvenirs. This is a wonderful little alcove of good Chinese cooking and friendly staff and I hope to visit again next time I am in Frankfurt.

I was in Frankfurt for a night and decided to stop by Mian Nudelhaus to get some Chinese food after a week of eating western food. To get here, we had to walk through some sketchy streets where people were loitering around. I came by Wed around 7 pm for dinner, and the restaurant was empty except for a family that was also dining in. The space isn't big and has a couple tables along with some bar seating. The menu is one page and is pretty straightforward, focusing on noodles and dumplings and baos. I had the beef noodle soup ($10) and also ordered the pork lu mian (also $10) as takeaway for the next day. The beef noodle soup was surprisingly good. The broth was flavorful, the beef chunks tender, and the homemade noodles chewy. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. There were a LOT of noodles so I had trouble finishing the whole bowl, though I managed in the end. I ate the pork lu mian the next day on the train, and this dish I didn't enjoy as much. Essentially it's the same homemade noodles mixed with sauce and stir fried pork and veggies added in, but I found it incredibly bland and had to add some salt to it. For both dishes, portions were huge, so you get good bang for your buck here!

Sorry!! forgive the fact that my picture is of food half eaten! I was exhausted after a long day and I just decided to eat in (minus the fact that there was a long wait and a small dining space) . Still jet lagged and starved I completely did not realize until I was 5 bites in - that the ShoMai was HUMONGOUS... and they were very good too. The shrimp dumplings, same deal... HUGE. Definitely on my come back list.

Munich has one or two places that serve some but pretty ordinary and so, I was excited to discover this one. The menu here is mostly yum cha or, dim sum as some would call it. They make everything in house and it comes out steaming from the kitchen. They have most of the classic dishes and a couple of creations i have not seen before. They don't have carts going around like the big places in HK but, they do have the same paper menu cards where you can mark what you want. They refill your tea here for no extra charge, a practice similar to most classic yum cha places. We ordered a few dishes to share and they have a small choice of vegetarian items as well. Most of the dishes tasted good and whilst not exactly like they do in HK but good. The BBQ pork was great, prawn dumplings good and the mushroom dumplings were really good. Service is very quick and friendly and the place was packed by the time we left. The majority of diners were Asian, a positive sign. Prices are a bit high but I would happily pay for the quality. Definitely a place I would come back to for Sunday yum cha :-) It's a place hidden away in the back of a shopping plaza behind the Westin hotel. No signs on the street telling you where this is. A lovely find in town :-))
