This is the thing that I love about South Australian pubs, and that happens to be that they offer beef schnitzel literally everywhere. Well, it turns out that everywhere doesn't include this pub, unfortunately. Still, despite that this pub was rather nice and certainly suited to its location in a leafy Adelaide hills suburbs. In fact, it was the first time that I have visited this pub, particularly since I never expect there to be a pub here, or at least didn't see one in numerous times I have pass through here. Well, I guess there is a first time for everything.

All of the very best quality of course. And some South Australian faves. You can have it on the rocks or choose one of the many cocktails. Some garnished with Aussie botanicals and using good quality tonic! I really love this addition to the hotel. It almost feels like a small cocktail bar in the Hills. Best part is, if you live down the hill, you can catch a bus to and from. There is a bus stop right out front. There are even after mid-midnight buses, so if you want to stick around to late. You can get back to the CBD cheap. Last thing to note, is don't let the winter stop you from coming to the hills. It's the best time to be here. It's green, colourful and foggy. Get an armchair and set yourself up near the fire. This is totally what all pubs should be like! Well played Stirling Hotel! Huzzah!

The renovations look great and even the female bathroom was lovely and spacious and lots of mirrors... The food was good and nice size servings. As a starter we had the mustard seed and parmesan bread and that was delish... I had the crab pasta for the main which was a little different to the usual ones I've had. It was in a diablo sauce which I have never tried before and had a strong chilli flavour which I don't mind a bit of but that was a little over powering. My friend had the steak which was served on mash but she said she felt like it needed a green veggie in there but I think that us something you can order as a side dish. She had asked for it to be cooked medium but I think it came out more med-well done. Overall a nice restaurant food wise but they did take a long time to clear our plates away after we had finished and a few little things I asked for like a wedge if lemon, never made it to our table then we had asked to see the dessert menu and they had forgotten so had to ask again. Attention to detail please... It's another restaurant in the entertainment book so great value.

What can I say. the service was on par with most places, staff friendly and helpful. Lovely and clean. Good Pub Décor, there's not much more one could want from a Local Pub.. Add a good selection of beers and wines etc., even from local SA small breweries such as Pirate Life and Big Shed and some great Orchard Crush Ciders.. Just what we wanted.... We didn't stop to eat, but I'll HAPPILY go back to give that a go, seeing some of the meals that came out.. NICE.. Things like a 2 person seafood platter. to sliders.. it all looked really nice. A great Port Adelaide Pub for sure.

I always mix business and pleasure when I travel. My room here was delightful. Large main room, separate bedroom. Bathroom down the hall. Much larger than a normal hotel room. Kitchenette with fridge and microwave. I would have preferred a work table, but the bar-height workspace was large and worked very well. The overall feel was extremely comfortable and it was easy to just settle in and feel at home. The staff were great, especially at the bar. Bar/dining area opens to the sidewalk seating. In October the weather was pretty perfect. It took me a full day to understand the bartending staff. The Adelaide accent is a bit stronger than Melbourne or Sydney. But they are very patient with Americans who ask for everything to be repeated three times. I stayed four nights and had an excellent experience. Would recommend it and would stay here again.

Before any other Yelpers start waxing on about their opinion compared to mine, yes there are some nice places, but I think in the city the nicest places are the historical ones that have been made over - until you stay over at Mantra you can't compare. Big rooms, very lush, plush and highly relaxing. Of course you pay a high price, but compared to other capital cities the price is relatively good; it is high for Adelaide. But expect great service plus, and great rooms plus, and you may be visiting, but end up staying in your room the whole time you are here, because it is nice.

In the front court yard is a selection of Mice, Ants and Pigs, made out of scrap metal that look super cool! I have put up a couple of pics, so make sure you check them out. The ants in particular are right up my deviant ally, complete with bazookas and mini-guns. They are a pretty decent price too considering the work and creativity that has gone into them. I wouldn't go up to Hahndorf just to check them out, but certainly poke your head in if you are around the area!

In actuality Camelot Castle is one of the few remaining quirky, hidden gems of the Adelaide Hills. Still, it is a castle. With loads of stonework and battlements, and inside, a few decorative shields and swords, there is no shortage of character. One aspect of medieval times that could be left in the past is the gloom of the main dining (or banquet) hall. The low lighting does work well with the traditional exposed timbers, but it feels a little like a dungeon when you come in from the bright of outside. The food and drink are excellent, and the house wines whilst looking like cheaply labeled clean skins are a world better than the goon you might otherwise expect. The location is Camelot's best feature. Often when people say hidden, they mean "not many people know about it yet" or "it's just off the main street" but in this case, it is literally hidden. In an orchard filled valley, tucked in against the side of a steep hill, the entrance is only visible for a moment before you're around the next corner. Also, due to the terrain mobile phone coverage is near non-existent, which also affects the accuracy of phone GPS. Don't panic, it's nice countryside to be lost in.
