Yeah, the beer selection was quite disappointing - none that really interested me. I do have to admit that it does have a bit of an older style feel about it, and of course there happens to be an old well which the pub has been built around, and it now forms part of the bar, though they do have a perspex covering over it. We enjoyed our coffee and cake, sitting beside a very nice open fire, reading a supplied paper, with a free WiFi telstra hotspot. We ordered steak _well done, no blood_ and had to send it back 3 times. Each time it came out raw with blood running across the plate. Staff shrugged and said "steak is cooked with blood coming out, it's natural". Hygiene is non-existent - 0/10. The waitress had her fingers all over the food when she brought the plate out. After all the back-and-forth to the kitchen, we both got sick. It genuinely felt like something was done to the food. The staff stand around gossiping about customers loud enough for everyone to hear. When we raised the issues politely, we were treated like rubbish. Split a beer tasting flight with my husband and the pretzel/2 dips appetizer. Delicious pretzel with a red pepper dip and then some type of rocket/bean dip. The flight showcased 4 classic German beers. They were mostly light, crisp, and refreshing with the exception of a darker ale. Nice spot to grab a beer and bite to eat if you like German pub fare.
