This is my absolute fav farmer's market in Western New York. They sell gardening supplies, plants,…read moreetc. however they are special in what they market in produce. Many so called farmer's markets sell produce that is grown at various farms around this area yet they market it as their own and charge ridiculous prices. English peas for example. I am a raw, English pea fanatic. When they come in season, which should be any day now, Miller's (they grow their own) sell them initially for roughly $3.99 per pound. Price lowers as season continues. On my first of the season visit I usually buy five pounds or so, I clean them out. Remember too that with English peas there is a great deal of waste as the pod is inedible. Various other so called farmer's markets sell them by the pint or basket. Hello - a pint of peas?? A mere teaser for me. The weight is so minimal that I'm guessing it's about a fourth of a pound or less. These pints are not cheap. Maybe $3.00? I got stuck on the pea thing so let me venture to other veggies. Every product that is grown in their fields is marked as such. They grow corn, tomatoes, green and wax beans, melons, really a wide variety. They also sell things grown elsewhere which is noted as such. I can't say enough about the integrity and quality of this market other than "Stay Away" during pea season or you might be leaving with a stump on the hand that tried to take my peas. This also applies to sweet corn.

A quaint little farmers market off the beaten path. I am so glad we found this place. While…read morecamping in Erie PA, we found this place while looking for something fun to do that isn't the usual things in the downtown Erie. The brochure from the campground recommended this place and it was well worth the stop. Inside is a little market selling seasonal vegetables and local made sodas, dressings and canned pickles and sauces. Being autumn, there were plenty of apples, mums and pumpkins. There is also an amazing bakery with cookies, cakes, pies and breads. I didn't take a picture of the sweet treats we because they didn't last long enough - and they were OH SO GOOD! If you want to go to Erie and @are looking for something new and adventurous to do - definitely worth the drive!!!

Perfect place to grabs a sweet treat or gift for a friend, too. Great little resource for locals and tourists alike. I personally find the baked goods to be underwhelming, especially with so many other exceptional places in Erie for donuts and cookies but that is a very personal preference. Great selection and everything is beautiful. Staff is friendly and welcoming, too. Check it out!

Duran's is one of the few places that is a small business, they support local, and are true to…read morethemselves and values. Karen goes above and beyond to help with anything. The local products she features are hidden gems sometimes. Great prices and quality. The store has expanded over the years and is very clean and organized. There are contests throughout the year. They also put on Duran's Down Home days, annually, to raise money for charities. It is a full year planning process in addition to all the work at the store.

I am so appalled by the way the owner handled my complaint, I don't even know where to begin…read more I was looking at Facebook events and a Farmer's Market popped up. The photo for the event showed their property with dozens of tents and vendors. Not ever having been to the farm myself I was unaware they didn't actually grow or sell produce (at least not that I saw when I was there), they mostly sell local goods and the milk through other vendors/local farms through a sign up program. (So there aren't any "farm products" to walk in and buy despite the fact that the store front is full) The event was listed as starting at noon, and my husband arrived shortly after and took a tour of the store. By 12:30 there was no other car on the lot but ours and one other car......no vendors, no nothing. We sat on the bench outside the store and waited. Nothing. I posted to the facebook event a civil comment saying I was disappointed that no actual vendors showed up and I had driven a pretty long way to get there, all for nothing, and ended up by saying I was pretty pissed off. After I posted that a vendor posted, announced themselves as a vendor, and said they were set up on time and basically that I was a liar and then told me to **** off. Then she had her friends come into the event and make nasty comments also, and the drama went on from there. Everything from "I can go to walmart if I don't like it" to "I must be off my meds". I sent the farm a message with my original complaint, and linked to the event and the vendor comments. I pointed out to the owner that her FB event doesn't link to her page or have many details. It's not like anyone seeing the event KNOWS it's a "new" or "grassroots" effort. Maybe she (or the vendors) just didn't realize that FB events can stand alone in a list of local events, and aren't just viewable to people who "like" their page and who might already know all about the company. I feel like I gave them the benefit of the doubt there. THEY TOOK ZERO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIER FALSE ADVERTISING. The owner messaged back (IE: in private, not in public like her vendors had done) saying no one speaks for her and that basically if I can't be patient with her grassroots effort to start a free market then I might be best served elsewhere because clearly I was starting drama. Far be it from me to drive 20 miles and expect an actual farmer's market. Regardless of what the owner says in private she's responsible for vendors using her land and her name whether they pay to set up at her event or not and they do reflect on her whether she wants them to or not. So much for this being a "Christian" establishment. Behavior like this is what ruins small businesses and why so many people don't want to support local businesses. No "real" company would ever treat a customer like this.
