The delivery driver called prior to delivery. My item came in a large box that was undamaged. On time delivery with no damage equals a 5-star rating. This was the second item delivered by Hackbarth in Montgomery to me within the past 6 months via Wayfair. I love that both my sofa and chair were still in the original box when delivered. I think when delivery companies remove items from the original packaging to deliver, it increases the changes that damage will occur. read more

Text delivery time. Didn't show. Called customer service because their website advertised a live knowledgeable custom service agent 24/7. I did get a live person, she told me she was just there to take messages and couldn't help me with my delivery. I was told that she could email management but it would take a while to get a response. After the 3rd call to customer service I was able to get the number to the local office. The call goes straight back to the customer service line. They finally delivered 3 days later without warning, even though their company policy clearly states a 30 minute pre call is a requirement prior to delivery. Shameful. read more

By far the WORST company I have ever dealt with in 44 years. I was lied to multiple times by Beth in Nitro, WV. My delivery was scheduled/rescheduled 7 times from December of 2021 until February of 2022. I ended up never receiving it, I was finally able to get a refund from Wayfair for the item. I received a text from Hackbarth requesting a delivery window from 2-5PM the following day for a shipment I was expecting. I made arrangements to get home early from work, and arrived home before the delivery window. At 530PM, I contacted them to find out where they were. They advised that they were very busy with deliveries and weren't able to make it out. -I did not ask for my delivery window, they quoted it -They did not contact me about not being able to make it (I had to reach out for an update) You can't pay me enough to use these guys for anything. It's pretty sad that when I called to make a company aware that their drivers from Columbus GA who delivered our appliances: Firstly ruined my brand new fridge causing us to have to wait another week for another fridge to be delivered. SECONDLY: left something at our house and as they were leaving the second time tore down phone lines that are now in our driveway and when we called to report it were LAUGHED at. We ordered a sofa/sleeper from Wayfair & was told that Hackbarth, a local delivery service in Montgomery, Alabama would deliver our sofa/sleeper. Wayfair kept us in the know through email from ordering to the date of delivery! Great service! Hackbarth customer service called the day before delivery to let me know it was coming & the time given for delivery-between 10 am & 2 pm. Fantastic! The driver called me 30 minutes before arriving, which was around 11:30 and he was very courteous, phone manners were excellent! ( Introduced himself, gave the name of his company, said thank you!) The two young men who delivered our sofa/sleeper were so careful bringing it into the door & so polite! I commend Hackbarth for hiring such capable workers. Four delivery attempts and not a single one successful. Finally returned my purchases to Home Depot. I have never dealt with a less professional company. They were supposed to deliver an appliance purchased from JCP. They call less than 24 hours in advance so we have to scramble to find someone to be home to accept the delivery. Then the delivery day the company tells us all day that it will be delivered by end of day after they missed the 8-12 delivery window. At 8pm that night, the company calls to say our appliance never made it on the truck because their truck was too full. They never tried to apologize or fix the issue. They put us on the list for the next weeks delivery as the last delivery of the day. We ended up canceling the order. This delivery service lost JCP several thousand dollars in sales due to their unprofessional style of business. read more

On 30 January 2018, I had a refrigerator delivered to my home by Hackbarth Delivery Services which is contracted out by Home Depot. The person who delivered the appliance, damaged the door frame by forcing the refrigerator through the front door of the house and the weight of the appliance on the dolly bent the threshold. After he got it through the door, I noticed that the handle on the refrigerator was hanging off, so we had to get a replacement. This damage was done to our brand new home. It was just built and we closed on it 30 Jan. The following week (5 Feb 2018), we got a replacement. This time the delivery guy insisted on removing the front door to ensure the same thing wouldn't happen again. So, my fiancé obliged and the delivery guy took the front door off the house and propped it against the wall in my office. While they were installing the appliance, the front door fell on my desk. Now, my desk has dents in it from where the front door fell on it. That same day, I called Home Depot to make a claim. They gave me a claim number and also said that Hackbarth would be calling me soon to repair or replace items. I never received a call, I had to call them. Today is 4 Apr 2018 and I have yet to receive either a check for damages or repairs. Two people were sent out to take photos of the damage, but still no resolution has been made. I call their main office number and if they don't pick, the call center will answer. The only thing they can do is email them with my information to call me back, which never happens! They never call back. The person who is supposed to call me back is either on vacation or not in the office at the moment. I've spoken to her one time and that was on the first call that I made to the company. This is by far the worst customer service that I've ever experienced. Every time I call, I am told that someone will call me back. I really don't understand and have never seen this level of unprofessionalism. read more

I had a last minute unexpected delivery that I needed to happen in Montgomery with only a few hours to spare. As I was located in another State, I needed some to accept an electronic document, put it on a flash drive and hand deliver it to a person at an office. Hackbarth was outstanding to work with and took care of the delivery with time to spare! They were able to charge my credit card over the phone (a very fair rate) and emailed me a recipe. I was given a 11:30-3:00pm for 1/26/19 delivery and installation time for a range purchased from the Montgomery Home Depot. At 12:30pm, received a call from the dispatcher saying they were would NOT be delivering my range on the above listed date. I have a catering business that I lost a contract of almost 3k on because of this range and the HORRIBLE delivery service's negligence. I will be making contact with the Home Depot local and corporate office. This is not the only time I have had an issue with this same delivery company and their horrible services. I have went back and forth with the home office in Mobile, including personally speaking with Regional Manager, with them trying to accommodate myself on behalf of the HORRIBLE service being rendered by the local Montgomery office. The local delivery in-office manager appeared to be VERY UNCONCERNED and didn't try to accommodate or take care of the delivery and ensure it being delivered today. My husband offered to help them by RENTING a trailer and picking up the merchandise but was asked to leave the premise because she felt unsafe with him being at their location because of how I reacted on the phone but telling them exactly how I felt(no cursing or threats made) almost 5k (3k catering contract voided, 1700 range that's paid for & I don't have, family having to eat fast food 3 meals a day) later! Later the same local manager calls back to say she didn't feel safe with him picking it up from the premise in case the product gets damaged while my husband was transporting, VERY CONFLICTING! Also, you would think if your delivery/installation was missed because of their lack of resources (standby crew or standby vehicle), you'd be first the next day, right? Nope I was 1st told by dispatch it would Thursday, then in-store manager tells my husband MAYBE Wednesday, but tells me 1st delivery Tuesday Mrng, therefore as an unfair inconvenience to my husband, he has to miss work AGAIN on their behalf! I just assume the Saturday deliveries get in wherever they can fit in! You would think we're in another city, NOPE 20 mins MAX in traffic away from the delivery hub! To be honest there still isn't a concrete date/information that it will be delivered on Tuesday Mrng now being that the weather in Alabama has the potential of being hazardous. I would avoid buying any appliances from Home Depot that has to especially be delivered by this company if you can't pick them up personally. Listen to the 1 star reviews (should be an option for 0 stars to bring down rating). I'm not sure this company actually has any employees. I've had 3 encounters with this horrible delivery service and all have been the absolute bottom of the barrel. The manager in Dallas, Jon Gaither, does not respond to emails or phone calls. I even was told this by customer service at the company I was trying to order from, Tavour, they couldn't get in contact with him either. He is a rude man if you ever do talk to him, and should not be in charge of anything. I tried to pick up a package, and honestly I could have walked right in and out of the office with any package I wanted. Criminals, this is the spot for you - no one is in the office, ever. You can take any package that you want, they're all just sitting on the floor with no one at the desks. The drivers I'm pretty sure just go to a sports bar or something and mark "unable to deliver" on their boxes, claiming they called when they didn't. This is the 3rd time it has happened, so not a coincidence. I was supposed to have a delivery on 26 June, waited at home ALL DAY, then emailed them once a day for the next 5 days and no one from the delivery company responded. Guess what, it's now July, and still don't have my package. Finally customer service said that they had tried to deliver the package and it was marked "unable to deliver" (when I was sitting by my phone at home all day and it didn't ring), but the company couldn't prove they tried to come by. They also promised me 2 other times they would bring the package for me to sign, and they never showed or contacted me. Now I will have to drive an hour away (if the package is even at the warehouse) after paying $16 for shipping? Don't use this company, it's a scam, and I can't believe there is actually a business that exists that is this horrible. Should be shut down immediately. read more

Hackbarth deserves 0 stars, but unfortunately, that is not an option! I ordered an office chair from Staples Office Supply in Webster, TX on Friday, 1/4/19. The receipt showed the chair would be delivered on Monday, the 7th. I received a text on Monday (the 7th) advising the delivery would be made on Tuesday, the 8th. They never showed up, and the tracking website reviewed this morning (1/9/19) shows: 1/8/19 8:11 pm cosignee closed, business closed. The delivery was to be made to my house, not to a business, and furthermore, I was sitting in front of my open living room door, waiting for the truck to show up. I called to check on the status of my order 3 times, beginning at 4:30pm, but no one could tell me where my delivery was. Needless to say, it never came, and I am home again, today, wasting another day waiting for my delivery. I called Staples this morning to let them know that when the chair is delivered, I will be returning it to their store (along with the other items I bought) for a full refund. Staples picked the worst rated company to deliver my chair, and for that, I chose NEVER to do business with Staples again. It's a matter of principal!! Stores want our business, but when they don't have the item in stock, they try to make us happy by offering us free delivery. No problem with that, but when they hire inferior companies like Hackbarth who obviously don't care about customers, it's inexcusable! Of all delivery services to pick from (UPS, FED EX, LONE STAR, etc), why did they select such an obscure company? I've never EVER heard of Hackbarth, and I've certainly never seen them in my city. I'm wondering if this was the cheapest courier around for hire?? I live in Galveston, which is about 40 miles outside of Webster. Is it just that my city is too far to deliver to? The way I see it, if I can drive 40 miles to shop in your store, you should be happy to drive 40 miles to deliver my purchase, in order to win and keep me as a customer. So.......Staples, you lose my business forever! And, for those of you who think ordering online is the way around this, there's still no guarantee that a cheap cut-rate courier like Hackbarth wont be hired to deliver your orders! I ordered a nice washing machine from Home Depot on 2 Jun 2019. I was supposed to receive the delivery Saturday 15 Jun. On Friday 14 Jun went online to confirm the Saturday delivery since I had not received a call to get time block for Saturday and they had rescheduled the delivery for 24 Jun but never called to let me know. Called their number talked to their answering service was told they had called but was unable to leave message at 4:04 PM, left message with answering service for them to call me back and was told they would contact me. On Monday 17 Jun evening called again and finally was able to talk to someone other than their answering service. Was told she needed to talk to the manager and would call me back. Recieved a call back on Tuesday 17 Jun and was told the manager approved my delivery for Saturday 22 Jun. On Friday 21 June went online to confirm the Saturday delivery sinmce I had not received a call to get time block for Saturday and they had rescheduled the delivery for 26 Jun but never called to let me know again. Called their number talked to their answering service was told they no longer deliver in Montgomery for Home Depot effective today Friday 21 Jun. Called the Home Depot Online Delivery service since I bought the washing machine online and they said that Hackbarth should have contacted and rescheduled the delivery. This company is the worst delivery company I have ever tried to work with. They lied to me on 2 occasions, when I called on 14 Jun they said they had called but was unable to leave message at 4:04 PM. That's a lie since I was at home at that time and my phone never showed any calls for that day and didn't ring. Then when they rescheduled me for Saturday 22 June they knew the contract with Home Depot was expiring on 21 June. With service like this you should be out of business very soon, good luck. On 4/13/2018 I had a scheduled delivery by Hackbarth Delivery Service which is contracted out by Home Depot for a fridge. My time frame was between 3pm-7pm. The delivery people called and moved my time up, but never showed up (came at original time). Once they arrived, they refused to deliver the fridge b/c they had to remove the door of the fridge to get it in the kitchen . The wanted me to sign paperwork saying it was okay to leave it sitting in my living room and they refused to remove the old fridge out, although I had paid to have this done. I refused and they left. I called the office and was rerouted to the call center who was apologetic. They supposedly tried to reach these guys on the phone and could not. I spoke with what they call management and was told that they would call the Montgomery location and see what was going on and someone would call me back within the hour. No one ever called, so I called them back. After much talking and apologizing between Home Depot Delivery and Hackbarth Delivery I decided to give this another try. Scheduled next delivery for 4/20/2018 between 1-5pm.......All day at home and the delivery person call at 4:57pm and states that it will be another 1 to 2 hours before he makes it to me b/c he got held up on his last job. You can't tell me that this person didn't know before 4:57pm that he was not going to make it to my house within the time frame they had given me. If I had not had issues with them from day one, him calling saying he was going to be late probably would have been okay, but know I'm feeling that you are doing this on purpose because I called and complained. I think Home Depot might want to rethink using these people, because customer service/ satisfaction begin from the moment I walk through the doors of Home Depot, make my purchase, and have my product delivered and installed to my satisfaction. This company is not a good representative for Home Depot Delivery.
