Kennedy, the horseback lead, was knowledgeable, calm, and gave us clear, easy-to-follow instructions that even beginners could understand. She checked on us the throughout the ride to make sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. The trail was beautiful: shady sections, little creeks to cross, gentle up-and-down hills, and tons of lush green scenery all around. We passed several bikers and hikers, and every single one was super respectful of the horses and politely gave us the right of way. The horses themselves were awesome. calm and steady, with just the right amount of playful sass to keep it interesting. We left smiling and already talking about coming back. We definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing yet exciting trail ride. Whether you're a first-timer or experienced rider, you'll love it!

Onto the actual adventure, our guide was Ebony, and she was incredible, literally incredible. It was fun to learn a little bit about her and a lot about just the nature preserve and all the little fun facts that we probably wouldn't have known otherwise. This past weekend's horseback riding trip was such a smooth and peaceful experience from start to…read morefinish. The staff was pleasant, welcoming, and made everything easy. Lauren, our trail leader, was amazing--very knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly experienced with both the riders and the horses. My horse was INDIGO. But all the horses were calm and not temperamental at all, which made the ride even more enjoyable and relaxing. I chose the early morning ride, and it was absolutely perfect. I had removed my flannel beforehand and wore only a sleeveless tee, which worked out great as the sun started to come up. Parking was very convenient, and I especially loved that this location is only about 20 minutes from my home in Canyon Springs. The trails through the Santa Ana Riverbed were lovely--peaceful, scenic, and exactly what I was hoping for. I will definitely be doing this again. It was such a better experience and value than driving all the way into the Los Angeles area for a ride. This gave me exactly what I wanted: a serene, beautiful morning on horseback in nature. Our experience @ Will Mar has been outstanding. It truly is a happy place for riders & horses. The stalls are large & generously padded. Horses are fed three times per day; supplements are given daily per owners' instructions. Stalls are cleaned seven days per week. Horses are turned out for several hours six days per week. The layout of the facility is quite perfect with easy access to the round pen, turnouts, wash area & tack rooms. Rainy weather? Hand walking mostly possible as walkways are covered with gravel. The footing in the arena is top notch. Training with Amy Miller is superb. She has a special communication gift not only with equines but also with riders.
