I had a colonoscopy at this center and while still under the influence of anesthesia 2 nurses demanded that I get dressed and leave. I told them I cannot I am so drowsy and they said you need to leave I told them give me time to recover and they said no. Also, beginning of the procedure the anesthesiologist put the smallest cuff perhaps one used for toddlers on me. I told him it is hurting instead he said don't move!! I have had many surgeries before in other places and this place was horrible! Avoid scheduling your surgeries there if you can. I am filing a complaint with their Administrator. For god sake this is a surgery center not a super cut where clients need to leave their chair quickly!!! I WAS EXTREMELY DROWSY and they did not care... read more

This rating is for their business dealings, not their medical services. My husband had a procedure scheduled for 8:30 a.m., received reminders, told to arrive at 7:30, and told how to prepare. We arrived at 7:15 a.m. checked and sat. And sat. And sat. The 7:30 check in time went by with no word. One or two other people were called in. Then the 8:30 procedure time went by with us still in the lobby. No one came into the lobby to apologize and update us on the scheduling status. Meanwhile, my husband had been fasting since dinner the night before, had followed all instructions, and we had planned the rest of the day based on the schedule they originally gave us. After waiting an hour and a half, we asked at the desk and were told "the doctor's running behind." Tho were were told my husband was "next to be called" no one could say how long it would be once hew as in hospital gown and the IV was in. To all appearances, it seemed he could be there another two hours, waiting. (Really?? This is the frame of mind you want to go into with a doctor and entire team under pressure to get things done as fast as possible?) This clinic ignored simple business courtesy to treat people as if their time mattered, that information pertaining a surgical procedure on them was relevant, and that patients weren't just another insurance form to produce revenue. It would have taken nothing at 7:40 (when they already knew the doctor was running late) -- to inform us. Certainly by 8 a.m. we were due the information. It seems that a clinic unable to perform basic patient management and basic business courtesy is also a clinic where other business systems are sloppy. (think billing, privacy of information, accuracy of coding for insurance purposes, proper follow up materials, etc etc). read more

"Free Photo Montage & White Tights for Good Patients." I came here this morning for arthroscopic knee surgery, performed by Dr. David Bell of Pleasanton. There is a ton of paperwork, so you have to sign a million papers. It's amazing how complex the process is, but this place knows what they're doing. With the coronavirus shutdown, you wait outside and stand on the red X. Then the admission nurse comes out and admits you. That's why she's called the admission nurse. The whole process was smooth. They are careful with sanitizing hands and even the pens. I wanted to sneak out with one of their pens as a souvenir, but I forgot. Must have been the anesthesia. Next time I'm getting one for sure. Whilst you're laying there waiting for your turn in the operating room, there's not a whole lot to do, so I surveyed my surroundings. One side of the large room is for pre-op, and the other is for post-op recovery. One of the post-op areas is all glassed in. I thought it was for patients who scream a lot, but the nurse said it was for kids. When I woke up later, I was happy to see I was not in that glassed-in room. (Just in case it really was for screaming patients.) For arthroscopic knee surgery, they drill three little holes in your knee. Well okay, they probably don't use a drill, but they make three small incisions. I did not hear any drilling during the surgery, but they must use something like a drill right? After the surgery, my recovery nurse presented me with a photo montage of the inside of my knee. This made me feel special. I'm pretty sure I got this for being a really good patient--it's not just some cheap "participation" trophy. I didn't see any of the other patients getting this montage, so they must have been bad patients. The photo reminded me of those rides at Disneyland where they try to sell you a photo of you sitting in the Space Mountain sled. Same idea here, but not too many sleds. Maybe they keep them in that glassed-in room. Later, admiring my knee photos, I wondered how I could be sure these were truly photos of MY knee. How do I know they're not duplicating a million copies of some guy with a good-looking knee from 20 years ago? The entire experience, from admission to departure, was excellent. I'm just a little disappointed that I don't recall the anesthesiologist saying, "Now count slowly backwards from 100 to 1..." That's what they always do in the movies anyway. read more

Going with 5 stars because a *surgery center* has a high bar to clear when it comes comfort and care. This place is a well-oiled machine, but still personal. Check-in was easy, though still too much paperwork to check and fill out. But when that was out of the way the team of nurses inside we attentive, polite, clear in explanations, in good moods and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. I forget the name of the anesthesiologist, but she was clear and friendly. And I was out like a like within a minute and woke up clear headed. At the end, before I headed out the door, the doctor reports were printed out and given to me - along with a note from HSC. Hand-written "Take care" salutations, signed by the staff I came in contact with, were included. "Service" training is truly embraced here. I spent the most time with Cora, the pre-op nurse, and she was terrific, ensuring I understood everything and making sure I was warm. Like an airport, surgery centers need to keep the beds that are waiting at the gates moving. That went very smoothly and everything was on time for me. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is a butcher shop, all they want is to collect payment, extremely disorganized billing and overall services. The day of my surgery, they demanded payment, which I was surprised but paid what was required in full. Surgery took place in July, insurance was only billed in August, meaning that the amount I paid didn't go towards my deductible and then I owed money for the other part of the surgery (by TriValley Orthopedics, review to follow) that should have been covered by then. This cascaded into a series of issues that led to me now being able to go through physical therapy properly since every session was being charged as if I had not met my deductible. Mind you I had paid over 3500 for the surgery cost, which should have covered all my deductible if the incompetent billing of Hacienda would have billed my insurance correctly and timely. Fast forward now, the issue has not being solved. I had to pay another 2,500 to Tri Valley Orthopedics, Hacienda has admitted that they owe me a refund, promised to send via mail, in fact confirmed that had sent the check by mail, but I've never received. Every time I call them, goes to VM and they take forever, if ever to return my calls and will only call when I send a message through someone I know from their office. This has been SO MUCH trouble and headache. I don't recommend Hacienda neither Tri Valley orthopedics, they work together but don't communicate and the patient is left hanging not knowing how to solve problems when they arise. Feel free to reach out to me privately. I will be happy to share details and names. But I would strongly advise you to go somewhere else. They are irresponsible, incompetent and scammers. read more

Five stars! Small, but warm and inviting even in Covid times. The nurses were so friendly and compassionate- when family can't be by your side this is more important than ever. I saw Dr. Wolfe - he and his staff in the procedure room were all very professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Denning's was my anesthesiologist- saw me through the experience and made me feel comfortable and cared for. Wendy, my pre-op nurse did an IV I couldn't feel, and Peggy was my nurse after my procedure- she was so sweet! Cindy guided me through what to expect in her phone call the week before. I received excellent care at the Hacienda Surgery Center on 7/10/23. From the minute I walked in, to the minute I rolled out was a great experience. I'd like to especially thank Ed Herrera CRNA for giving me the best anesthesia I've had yet. My biggest fear was the drive home as I get extremely nauseated from narcotics, and motion sickness. He really listened to my concerns, and even called the next day to follow up. I couldn't believe it, but I was not nauseated at all on the 40 minute drive home, which included a long windy road. It was truly a miracle. Also, a special thanks to May RN with her amazing IV skills for helping me pre operatively and post operatively delaying her lunch so she could help me out to the car. I'd like to also mention the wonderful care I received from all of the staff members involved in my care, including Kenya RN, Khaliah, Laura RN, Tarun RN, and Julie RN...and the Intraop staff that I didn't get to meet personally, and of course my excellent surgeon Dr Ian Stine! read more

Deceptive billing practices. Don't go here. I was assured by this business before an epidural that the entire procedure and all bills would not go beyond a certain price and there would not be additional hidden fees. I called an additional time after the procedure to make sure this was correct. A year later I am getting hit with more bills. I was given the excuse that they only mean "their" charges, not who they contract out. This was exactly what I asked beforehand. Don't trust this place. read more

I just had meniscus surgery on my right knee today, left one was this past August. The same caring wonderful people! My orthopedic doctor, Dr. Dainer is amazing, always answers all my questions. PreOp was nurse Diana who couldn't have been more wonderful. I hope I get the other names correct - nurses Suzanne & Christa then anesthesiologist, Dr. Denning - all FABULOUS! So obviously this isn't a fun review of an eatery, but you have to give kiddos to all establishments. So I came in for an epidural this morning with Dr Fontaine. I was greeted by the front desk, they had all my paperwork ready to go. I gave them my insurance card, drivers license and my co-pay. Easy enough. Everyone in the waiting room was there for Dr. Fontaine as I guess he does his epidurals on Fridays. Most people arrived early as they came from as far away as El Dorado Hills, and I guess the traffic was light because of the holiday weekend. I was called back by the nurse, changed my clothes she went over the discharge information with my hubby and I. Another nurse and the radiologist wheeled me back and were great. They were making me laugh and calming me down, as she could tell I was pretty anxious. Dr. Fontaine was reviewing his notes, and had great music playing!!! That's a plus!!! The nurse wiped my eye as I was going to lay down as the tears started to flow. They gave me a shot of vercet which helped me relax. I was awake the entire time, but only felt one of the injections. It wasn't to painful, but i felt it. I was done pretty quickly (or so I think). I went to recovery. Had some apple juice and was dressed and now I am home taking it easy. I've had 2 back surgeries for the same disc, so this is my last non-invasive procedure. The surgery center staff is fantastic. Northern Spine Institute in Pleasanton is amazing as well. I will be writing a separate review for Dr Booth my surgeon and Dr. Fountain. They are awesome as well!!! read more

The facility was clean and comfortable. There was a TV in the waiting room where the families of the patient having the procedure could follow the progress of their loved one from admission to recovery. Everyone was caring, professional, and kind. The nurses had a great bedside manner. The nurse who placed my IV catheter was a bit frazzled due to an issue of clarity with a section of my paperwork. I was glad to know that she strived for perfection and was able to maintain efficiency and professionalism at the same time. The anesthesia team and surgical team had a great rapport and kept things light and stress-free. Things flowed like a well oiled machine and everything went very well. Each time I visit, I'm very impressed by the professionalism and kindness of every member of the staff that I come in contact with, from the front desk, to the prep nurses, the doctors, and the discharge nurses. As an employee of various companies throughout my own life, I know that the morale of an organization is usually set at the top. Kudos to whoever runs the Hacienda Surgery Center. Yesterday I was scheduled for an epidural block by one of the finest Spine Specialist, Dr.James Fontaine, who is from the Northern California Institute of Spine Specialists. The staff there were all very friendly and made me feel very well taken cared for before and after the procedure. Highly recommend the surgery center and also the Northern California Spine Institute in Pleasanton. Went there for a sinus surgery last Monday. The process was really easy, processed nicely. Anyway's I don't like needles but the tech that did my IV, she was a star. Of course I felt the small prick with the deadener and then felt the pressure as she shoved the straw sized IV 3' up my arm (it's an exaggeration because I DONT LIKE NEEDLES!!).. But honestly if I could have her draw blood whenever I needed I would , she was stellar, in and out booya. And to her skill, no bruise, in fact the IV hole itself healed up really quickly. Crazy quick, crazy that there was no bruising (AT ALL). To the nurses/techs/other that asked the various questions , to the nice tech that made sure I was comfortable when the final gassing happened, rubbing my shoulder making sure that I knew I wasn't alone (wasn't needed, but appreciated, had I been able to move my arms I would have grabbed her hand and thanked her, but alas they had me down.. Soo Thank you! And to the poor post op nurse that was handed a gray life form and had to put color back into my cheeks, provide oxygen a few times and deal with my kicking, tossing and attempts to remove my bandages as I was coming to.. The only things I remember clearly are "open your eyes", breath deep, and "want an ice chip" and the fact that she had to change my gown a couple times due to excessive sweating (sorry about that : / ).. But it was awesome, she had to pick up the slack from the general anaesthesia and do what she could to get me home. Over all great experience (However I would like to get the same discounts insurance companies get!! :)))) :) no one like to have to write that big check, or slide the plastic, but for their part, they did all the pieces well. Went here a few days ago for a sinus/septum/adenoid surgery and was super impressed by everyone there. We arrived an hour before my scheduled procedure time and waited about fifteen minutes while doing paperwork. The nurses were very helpful throughout all the prep work and very calming (I faint around needles). They were all so friendly and personable, and they took their time with me to answer questions and make sure everything was done properly. read more

My surgery itself went fine. What I didn't like was that you sign a product agreement (blank) form upfront. When you sign this, you are agreeing to pay anything the insurance doesn't cover. So, before your surgery, call them and get a full list of everything you are likely to get for your surgery, call insurance to see if they are covered or not. You do not want to end up stuck with bills for things you thought insurance covered. For example, an ice pack they discharge you with costs much less (same brand) in Amazon and you pay a lot higher w/ the equipment provider (you will received the bill later). Plus, you didn't know it wasn't covered. read more

Had bilateral foot surgery at the Hacienda Surgery Center today and was so impressed with the staff from the front desk, back room helpers, surgery room staff, Anesthesiologist, and RN's. So organized, thoughtful and competent. The facility was very clean and could observe workers constantly using disinfectant wipes and wiping down beds and being very concerned about cleanliness. Would highly recommend without reservation. And Dr. Oji is nothing short of "amazing" in clinical skills, bedside manner and patience. read more

They over charged for a surgery I had in Feb 18 and hadn't received refund till date most of the time the calls go to VM and ask you leave your number but nobody returns your call. This place is awful. They made me wait outside with no way to drink water (because I had to fast) in over 100 degree heat for over two hours. When I asked for a place to lay down because my back hurt so much, I was told I couldn't have one and I had to go outside and lay down on the ground.
