The property has 6 different apartments , every apartment has their own name, I love that concept. Parking inside the property is available for additional cost but you can park on the street , is safe and free, lol. They will provide with the essentials if you want to cook, which is good if you like to cook while you are on vacation. Hammock in the bedroom is a great plus! They helped us book bike rentals and tours (with no cut for them), gave us recommendations on where to eat and where to avoid. We took our laundry in to town to a laundromat but it was closed because of some obscure holiday, so they did our laundry for us. ROOM: Lovely and clean. Pretty tile sink, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water. We had a fridge and coffee maker in the room. They gave us delicious herbal scented mini soaps, bath and beach towels, as well as the use of beach chairs and coolers for free. Air conditioning and ceiling fan, and sun shutters. GUESTHOUSE: Located at the top of Esperanza ~ 10 minute walk from the Malecon. We liked that it was a bit farther away because it was super quiet and peaceful. It is up a hill, so don't wear high heels! 2nd floor deck is lovely and cozy with pretty plants, comfortable hammock, free wifi, communal mini kitchen area (microwave, sink). Always a breeze. Rooftop is great for star gazing (and you will see a lot of stars out here). BOTTOM LINE: This place is a GREAT deal. We wholeheartedly recommend it. It was only $85 a night and was worth every penny.

I waited two hours while waiting for someone to arrive for me to check-in and/or to get ahold of booking.com (who also could not get ahold of them); other guests arrived and called the owner on my behalf, only to have the guest look me straight in the eyes being like "uhhh you might want to find another place to stay" It is even more ridiculous because they charged me hours before I got there, so they knew I was coming. I booked through booking.com and since Villa Coral ghosted both me and booking.com, the booking company FINALLY just issued me a refund nearly two months later Save your time and money, and go literally anywhere else.

This is simply our experience, and I'm not interested in debating or defending how we felt. To start with the positives: before booking, I read many reviews and was excited about supporting what appeared to be a small business run by a husband and wife. The property itself is absolutely beautiful , truly breathtaking scenery. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly cool despite there being no air conditioning. The cooling system on the beds was amazing. We also did the hike on the property, which was beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The wife was incredibly pleasant, welcoming, and knowledgeable about hospitality. She made us feel comfortable from the beginning. Unfortunately, several interactions with the husband left us feeling uncomfortable throughout our stay. Each morning, coffee and tea were offered to guests. One morning, since we planned to hike, we politely declined coffee multiple times. Despite saying no several times, the offer continued in a way that felt oddly tense, as though our declining offended him. During conversation, he openly mentioned that his wife often tells him he comes across as rude. He also praised her hospitality skills, and honestly, I completely agreed with him on that point. What really unsettled me happened when we were signing waivers for the hike. He handed me the waiver with a pen attached. After I passed the paperwork to my husband, my husband reached for the pen, and instead of handing it to him directly, the pen was tossed toward him. Whether intentional or not, the interaction immediately rubbed me the wrong way and changed the energy for me completely. For context, we are a Black couple, and while I cannot say what anyone's intentions were, some of the interactions throughout our stay felt uncomfortable enough that it became hard not to notice. Especially in the way my husband was treated at times. Another example: he offered to send horseback riding information to me. Since I didn't have my phone nearby, I asked twice for the information to be sent to my husband instead. Despite that, the information was still sent to me. The final issue involved the laundry area. We were washing a small load of clothes and some towels during the allowed hours. A few minutes into drying, he opened the dryer himself, removed my personal clothing including bras and underwear -- and left them sitting on top of the washer. He later sent a text saying the dryer was overloaded and making noise, although the load was not packed tightly and was smaller than the load left behind by the previous guests. What bothered me most was not the concern about the machine, but the fact that my personal undergarments were handled instead of simply asking us to adjust the load ourselves. None of these incidents individually caused a confrontation because we chose to remain respectful and calm throughout our stay. However, taken together, they left a stain on what otherwise could have been an excellent experience. Afterward, I revisited some of the lower rated reviews and noticed that several other guests also mentioned discomfort with the husband's demeanor and communication style. I also noticed responses to criticism often seemed defensive. Again, this review is not written to argue with the owners or invite debate from strangers online. This was our experience, and no one gets to tell us how we should feel about the interactions we had during our stay.

When we booked the house, we did not realize it was towards the top of a mountain near the south entrance to El Yunque Rainforest. It was a harrowing and gorgeous drive up the mountain up the narrow and circling road. The owner Nelson was very accommodating and helpful. The house itself was very hospitable with amazing views out into the mountains and rainforest. The sound of the coqui frogs and other rainforest creatures filled the nights. The kitchen really was a full kitchen with all the appliances, pans and cookware we needed. We cooked meals three of the nights were there. Being on a mountain, things are not the same as a hotel in a city. Both beds in the two bedrooms were not very comfortable to sleep on. The electricity went out several times we were there. During an extended outage, Nelson did provide a generator for us. Also there is not internet access. The TV was not working either. So I would suggest a cell phone with internet access if you have it, and bring a laptop with some movies. These minor things did not really dampen our experience. We loved the views, the hammocks on the balcony in the evenings, and the relaxation of experiencing what it is like to live in a rain forest.Further up the mountain is the Rainforest. We spent an afternoon slowly strolling through it and would probably have never gone to the southside if not staying here. We enjoyed the experience this house gave us.

She and her husband Jaime were so welcoming and friendly when we arrived-giving us a tour of the venue. My husband and I wanted a wedding that was not traditional-not a beach or church wedding but something in nature and we got just that and more. The server brought out our food and immediately saw the steak had the dressing and went back to correct it. The kitchen scraped off the dressing and sent it back . I dis not want to make a big deal so I ate it as such. The skirt steak was incredibly salty. The Grandma's steak was SWIMMING in oil so much so that the utensils were covered. My husband had two pieces and told me his dish was too oily. He was not wrong. The onions were not crispy just soaked as well. Again we did not want to make a big deal and we just wanted to pay for the bill. However, we did tell our waiter about the Gramdma's steak. He was very apologetic and went to his manager. That's where Carlos the manager lost not only us as customers but the restaurant has lost 5 other individuals who would have gone back if he had handled this better. He came to us with a smile and said "You should have sent it back immediately instead of eating the two pieces". We can offer you dessert or coffee. Not wow, I did see the dish and it indeed was not up to par. Not let me take the dish off the bill. Not our kitchen was not up to snuff. Instead he said "do you want to take the two other pieces to go"! We took the two complimentary lates just so Carlos would leave us be. Our waiter who was amazing was tipped well. He was more apologetic than the manager. We were planning on paying regardless and were chucking it up to a bad night. But Carlos handled this so poorly that on our trip next year we will not be going back. It's the principal not the money. High end resort dining establishments need to do better and patrons should not leave feeling they paid an exhorbent amount of money and leaving not feeling good from greasy/salty food and still hungry.

The pool was the standout feature of the resort. It's a beautiful lagoon-style pool with plenty of space and a swim-up bar, making it easy to spend an entire afternoon there. On our first day, we ordered lunch by the pool. The food came out quickly, the portions were generous, and it was exactly what you'd expect from good poolside dining. I'd give it a solid 3.5/5. We also received two complimentary mojitos at check-in, and they were absolutely delicious. We ordered room service one evening, and it was very consistent with the poolside food: generous portions, quick service, and another 3.5/5. The servings were so large that we couldn't finish everything. Our only frustration was that the room didn't have a refrigerator for leftovers, and we hate wasting food. Although we spent much of our trip exploring Puerto Rico, it was always nice coming back to a clean, comfortable room at the end of the day. Our only real complaint was the flooring. The room is entirely tile, and after showering it became quite slippery. Even a small area rug or bath mat outside the shower would make a big difference for both comfort and safety. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The friendly staff, beautiful pool, comfortable accommodations, and convenient location made it a great home base for our first trip to Puerto Rico, and we'd definitely consider staying here again.

I've always wanted to spend more time in Luquillo, and after seeing the consistently high ratings on Expedia and TripAdvisor--along with its beachfront location--I decided to give it a try. The property itself is older, but don't let that deter you. The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made for a very relaxing stay. I loved the balcony and watching the ocean from so close! Beautiful sunrise too. Check-in is more laid-back, so don't expect a traditional front desk experience with someone always present. That said, the communication was excellent. I really appreciated that they reached out via text ahead of time to ask about my arrival--it was a thoughtful touch. I arrived earlier than the standard check-in time (as I had mentioned), and there were no issues at all. When I rang the bell, a staff member promptly came out to assist me and greeted me with a warm smile. There's also a very popular restaurant and bar on-site with an amazing-looking menu. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to try it this time, but it's definitely on the list for our next visit. The location is another big plus--easy to find, right on the beach, and conveniently close to a Walgreens and other nearby beaches to explore.
