Excellent food! Service was a little snobby over multiple visits. I wasn't familiar with some of the dishes and when I asked questions the answers were given like they couldn't be bothered and in a very "Do you want it or not" way. I certainly wasn't dragging my feet ordering or being a pest, asked a few simple questions. I wasn't rude and I tipped well. Same snobbish waitress two times in a row so maybe it's her. Nice atmosphere, quick initial service. I like Middle Eastern food, and have gotten it from Miami to San Francisco. I usually get an appetizer sampler - simple and filling, good price. Habibi had great hummus and falafel. The baba ganoush wasn't how I usually like it, but it was by no means bad. But... I was one of the only customers, and after my food was brought out I didn't really see the staff again. It was disappointing, 'cause this should totally be a 4 star place. Maybe I just experienced an off day - but even so, if you want good eats and don't mind leisurely service, this is a place to try. read more

I came here last night for a friend's birthday dinner and I am officially a fan. The portions were large, I can personally split my kaftka platter leftovers into 2 more meals, and most of the entrees comes with a side of soup, salad or fries which made the meal even more filling. The beef on my dish was soft and well seasoned and the lentil soup was delicious and still hot when it came out. The service was also phenomenal, our server was attentive and came to check on our group multiple times to refill our water, as well as patiently answering our questions about the menu. And being that it was a friend's bday, we had some unusual requests that our server went above and beyond to fulfill. Everyone had a good time because of the giant platters of food and amazing service. If the star system just for restaurants in Erie, Habibi could easily be 5/5 stars. I came here during a time where a festival was going on outside so unfortunately I did not have access to the full menu. I ordered 2 shawarma sandwiches and take this from someone who lives in the Middle East, this was one of the best shawarma sandwiches I've ever tasted in my life. Came here for a quick lunch. First impression was the cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendly service. Also, the food was amazing! I had the chicken kabob pita sandwich. We stopped here on a chance based on other positive reviews. Our meals were delicious. One ordered the vegetarian plate, the other adult ordered the sweetheart plate. Kids ordered an appetizer (cheesy bread dish), another ordered the kids cheese burger. Kids loved their meals. Cheeseburger meat was the same meat as on the adult menu; it was a seasoned ground beef that was very flavorful and not typical of tasteless kid menu options. Both adult dishes were spectacular. We are from out of town, and I regret that we may not ever be back to Erie. I recommend this restaurant highly. read more

My boyfriend and I came to this place for dinner. We got the sampler. We got the hummus, baba ganoush, and the falafel. My boyfriend got the sweetheart platter and I got the salmon. One of the best salmon I've ever had. Everything was amazing. The owner even came out a couple times to make sure everything was okay. I am so glad we found this place when we were visiting Erie. "Habibi" I was told means "lovebirds" which certainly goes with this great place for a date. Creative decor, nice atmosphere and friendly staff, AND the food was wonderful. Before this restaurant opens Erie was lost with all the good quality middle eastern food. Now I'm not saying u will find the best in here but deff it's very legit and tasty food. Cute little place, but didn't have a Mediterranean vibe at all. More of a cafe feel to it. That was a little disappointing. Service was good. Friendly, and didn't take long to get everything out to us. Decent options on menu. The food itself was not great, not horrible either, but I've eaten at several Mediteranian restaurants including other local places and this by far was not as good tasting. You definitely get a fair amount of servings but I feel like the food wasn't fresh or the seasonings weren't quite right for what the flavors should have been. Just my personal opinion based on having been to many places I could compare it with. read more

Fantastic value -- you get a lot of tasty food for your dollars. For example, a pita sandwich for $7 or $8 that comes with a fattoush salad -- even at dinner! The waitress during our visit was very friendly. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I suspect they are altering the recipes a bit to fit American tastes. I can't say enough good things about this place, the staff, the owner, the cooks, the cleanliness. Everything about it is great. The staff is as friendly as it gets and the owner always wants to make sure that everything is done well. They are good with seasoning so it isn't bland like another Mediterranean restaurant in the area. I personally get the Shwarma pita and the hummus appetizer but everything I've had has been pretty good. If you're looking for some cheap, quality eats you should defintely try this place. read more

We ordered appetizers and our meals. The food was delivered quickly - appetizers almost immediately, and the meals soon after. These were huge portions! We both took part of our meal home. Three dolma as an appetizer. Lentil soup. Pita chips with baba ganoush. Hot pita bread that tasted home-made. Half a baked chicken. Vegetarian dishes. Gyros. All their meals are hand-made to your order. The staff made sure we understood the menu and meal options - a very personal atmosphere. The coffee was really good - strong not bitter. They offer baklava and other desserts. This is one of Erie's undiscovered gems. We will be back for more. read more

Discovered this restaurant quite by accident, but what a great find. Best Mediterranean food in the region. Everything was fresh and well prepared. The appetizers, kabobs, rice and vegetable dishes were perfect. Friends with dietary restrictions had no trouble finding appropriate choices on the menu. The proprietor and wait staff were extremely friendly and responsive, and the decor and atmosphere of the place were clean, bright and interesting. The restaurant is next to (actually connected to) a hookah bar, but there is complete separation of the two in case you're not into hookah. read more

Honestly, I think that so far in my short experience living in Erie, this is one of the best places to eat in town. I mostly eat a vegetarian diet, and it is a great option to have in a non-vegetarian sort of area. I can highly recommend the vegetarian platter -- huge enough that I always have plenty to take home. The lentil soup is delicious too. Everything always tastes homemade. The restaurant is clean and the service pleasant. One thing that is particularly awesome is the kebsa (red rice) served with most dishes (including being in the stuffing of their dolma, served hot). So yeah. This isn't one of my most colorful reviews, but I'm very hungry and headed there soon, if that means anything. read more

I believe all I read in comments, however, I do not understand how the restaurant could be closed Sunday. We drove all the way from jamestown and found it's close. If you owners are reading these reviews, I'd recommend to keep the restaurant open at weekends, and I'll come back with my family to test it. read more

We had a group of 10 for a graduation celebration dinner and the service was fantastic. Attentive and gracious. The food was terrific. Hummus, baba ganoush, tabouleh, warm fresh pita bread and the dinners were flavorful and portions generous. The owners even provided desserts for the table in honor of the celebration. Very nice family who owns and operates the restaurant. It was a first time for all of us and we all agreed we will be back. Highly recommended. read more
