Fryar & Son Water Well Service

Fryar & Son Water Well Service

This was the worst experience I've ever had, if I could give a negative score, I would give these…read moreuseless people a negative 10 stars. My water stopped at the end of June, thinking that it was a well pump issue, I called these complete failures. They flat out told me that my well was dry and that I would need to get someone to drill an entire new well. Something that would cost well over 6 to 8 thousand dollars. Because I don't have that kind of money, I was WITHOUT RUNNING WATER FOR 5 MONTHS!!! Thankfully, my neighbor thought that it sounded fishy, since all my neighbors still have running water. So they pulled the well pump out and it looked like it was 20 years old. You can see in the pictures I've included that a pump that was supposed to only be a few years old, looks like it was more than 20. Rusted, caked in green goop, it was non functional. So, on my neighbor's suggestion, I bought a new pump. On lowering it into the well, they hit water only 8 feet down, so my well WAS AND IS NOT DRY!!! Turning the pump on, a geyser of water shot out of it, also signaling that I had plenty of water in my well. Unfortunately, the pressure ruptured the rusted water tank under my house and I had to replace that as well. However, those 2 things were the ONLY THINGS wrong with my well system. Both are things that a COMPETENT AND PROFESSIONAL repair crew would have discovered, had they given a toss about doing their jobs. Instead, they said I needed a new well and to spend thousands of dollars to get it fixed. Even with buying a new pump, pressure tank and paying my awesome neighbors to install it all, it cost me less than $1500, a far cry from a brand new well being drilled for 6-8 thousand dollars. I honestly don't know what the hell is up with these people. I don't know if they were lazy, stupid, wanted to be terrible or just didn't feel like working that day, but this is absolutely unacceptable! Telling me I need a new well that will cost thousands of dollars when I only needed a new pump and water tank is insane. It makes no sense, especially when they didn't even suggest a well drilling company to get kickbacks from. It made absolutely no sense at all to drive all the way to my house, screw around for an hour, drag me outside to pretend that the well was dry and then disappear and only getting paid $70 for it. Were they that lazy? That hard up for less than a hundred bucks? I don't know what their problem was, and frankly I don't care. All I know is I had no running water for 5 months, and it is directly the fault of Fryar & Son's lies. DO NOT EVER GO TO THESE PEOPLE FOR ANYTHING!!!

DJ saved the day - and my garden!…read more I don't often recommend contractors publicly, but David's Plumbing absolutely earned it. I recently had my water service line replaced from the meter to my house. During the project, David discovered that the boring contractor hadn't installed the new line deep enough to meet code. It would have been easy to work around it, trench through my landscaping, or simply let it go--but instead, he advocated for me. He stood his ground, insisted the boring company come back and do the job correctly, and ultimately saved me from ending up with a substandard installation. That decision cost him an entire day's work while everyone waited for the boring company to return, but he still put doing the job right ahead of simply getting paid and moving on. To top it off, when the project was finished, his final invoice came in below the high end of the estimate he had originally given me. In a world where it's common to brace yourself for surprise costs, that was a refreshing experience. If you're looking for a plumber who is knowledgeable, honest, and willing to advocate for his customers instead of taking the easy way out, I can wholeheartedly recommend David's Plumbing. Integrity like that deserves to be recognized.
