We had a vision for transforming this space, and after meeting Justin, we knew he could bring it to life. Justin created a beautiful fence outlining the property, hung bistro lights from the house and along the roofline, excavated the hillside, and built a retaining wall with a built-in planter for spring flowers and a bench for the dining table. To the right, he added a built-in BBQ with power, and he designed the backyard with a couple of new trees and a hammock with hidden support poles. We faced a challenge with irrigation since we didn't want to run a waterline to the back of the property. Justin ingeniously developed a system using rain barrels to store water and a battery-operated irrigation system to keep the new trees healthy. Plus, he included a gas firepit, which was a must-have for us. The attention to detail and meticulous planning were impeccable. Not a single item was overlooked. Unreliable and Overpriced - Avoid Mariano's Landscape…read more I hired Mariano's Landscape (based in Moreno Valley) in December 2024 to landscape my backyard. From the start, the experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Their services are expensive, and I expected quality work. Unfortunately, that's not what I received. The owner, Gabriel Mariano, planted diseased trees and assured me they would recover in warmer weather or be replaced. Months later--after numerous phone calls and site visits--nothing has been done. Communication has been all talk, with no follow-through. The concrete patio was another major issue. It was poured with a weak sand-and-cement mix that lacked any gravel or aggregate. I raised concerns, and they promised a quality control inspection would visit the job-site. No one ever came and Gabriel could not provide the name or license number of the concrete subcontractor they used. Bottom line: once they're paid, they disappear. They don't stand behind their work or resolve problems. I do not recommend Mariano's Landscape. The pictures speak for themselves.

I called 5 local-ish companies and Cristina at Aguilar's was the only one to call back. Within a few hours they were at the property, texting pictures and making suggestions. I sent them the violation notice and they came up with a reasonable estimate along with a timeframe of being able to start. Cristina, Irad and their crew did a great job following the notice to a "T", making sure everything was hauled away and cleaned up with days to spare before the deadline. The best part is they respected the trees and shrubs that are there and did their best to save as much as they could while following the fire prevention guidelines.
