They put cheap chinese batteries in my watches. Some were the wrong size and they bent the inside of a couple of them and never took the blame. The batteries lasted not too long. Instead of saying they did not know how to do watches they were more interested in making money. I have since then, brought watches to someone else that knows what they are doing. Friendly, family-owned business with attentive staff. They took apart my mother's wedding ring set and reset the stones into an engagement solitaire flanked by a couple of tiny sapphires for me, plus a pair of earrings. The work was done quickly, the jewelry looks great, and the price was reasonable. I later went back to have another ring resized, and that came back in a week or so too. When I first initially took a piece of jewelry into the store for repair, I felt the price was fair and reasonable. The ladies behind the counter were friendly. I left my jewelry at the store to get repair and was happy with the work that was done. Today I went to ask for a quote on resizing a tennis bracelet. The lady who provided the quote was extremely rude. She took my bracelet to review and before she even exam it with a magnifier, she asked me "is this sterling silver?" This really ticked me off. I kept my cool. What kind of jeweler ask someone that? She should've asked, what kind of metal is this? If she had exam the bracelet before asking such an offensive question then she would've seen the marking on the bracelet that clearly written 14K. I may look young but do not ask anyone that! My husband works very hard to buy me that for our 10 year anniversary. I'm glad I didn't leave my bracelet here for repair! read more

This is a follow up on my previous 5 star review. I was told my wife's ring would be complete the following Wednesday and early that morning I received a text letting me know it was complete. When I went to pick it up I was greeted with a friendly smile and when I saw her ring I was amazed. It actually looked better than the day we purchased it. In fact it looked so new I went home got on one knee and gave it to her again... of course she had to help me up this time. So I wanted to try this jeweler store as it was a local family owned business. I just had two services that needed to be done. 1) tighten two prongs on one side of the platinum ring 2) tighten a put back on a Rolex clip. To tighten the prong I was quoted for $150. To fix the Rolex, it would have to go to an authorized dealer and it would cost $100. I then went to get quotes from two other places 1) Ben Bridges at Fashion Valley. Customer service rep said they would tighten all the prongs on the ring for $75 and they screwed on the bottom clip on my Rolex Watch for free. 2) Robbin's Brothers said they would tighten all the prongs on the ring and it would cost $90. I really wanted to try this jewelry store but the woman who helped me just seemed to be all about business and not customer service and to charge me $150 to tighten prongs is ridiculous and then charge me $100 to put on a Rolex clip that just needed a screw tightened was really disappointing to me. Initially excited when we found this place. They did a nice job on one item for me. I had a very specialized opal, black opal, 60 carats. They broke it Actually chipped it and then lied straight to my face about it. I sent my husband to pick it up they lied straight to his face. Very very disappointing. If you break something be honest about it. As former jewelers we understand that sometimes things will break. My Mom's opal ring had a small fracture in the stone. I helped my Dad bring it to Tim and he made an excellent suggestion that we use the broken stone to create pendant and replace the ring's stone. I had two watches that needed a new battery. I first went to Sears--one in Chula Vista (on my way to a month-long travel to Baja California) and one in El Cajon (after I returned from my ended-up-being-four-month-long travel in Baja California). The Sears' watch experts quoted me a price of over $34 for each watch because the watches are Movado! They also suggested a 'warranty' service for additional $12. I was beyond being stunned. I seriously considered donating the watches to Salvation Army or Goodwill. A neighbor then suggested that I should stop by H. Tim Williams Jewelers. I did. Guess what they charged to replace the batteries for the two Movado watches. They charged $5.00 for each of my Movado watches!!! Enough said, I am certain. Too bad I do not own precious things that need repair. Because, if I did, Mr. Williams would be the only person I would trust to repair them. Spread the word, folks. read more

I was expecting this to be a very costly venture but was pleasantly surprised when the final cost was far less than I had anticipated. Plus, they were even able to replace the batteries in two Gucci watches when other jewelers had told me it could not be done unless I sent the watches back to Gucci. I was given a beautiful watch as a retirement gift. I wear it every day and the band was quite scuffed, scratched, and looking worn. I called a big jeweler that carries my brand and was quoted $250 to rejuvenate it. I went back to The William's shop. They accomplished the same job for about 1/3 the cost. It looks new!
