Whatever happened to customer service? Iremember when this supermarket chain had the best prices, the best choices, and most importantly the best customer service. Thirty years ago they had competition. Competition forced them to trim prices and ensure customer service was beyond reproach. Not anymore. At HEB, price gauging has run amok and customer service is but a thing of the past. I am a senior citizen and I miss the days when customer service was extremely important to many of these companies. I feel for today's younger generation of consumers that will never experience the niceties my generation became accustomed to... if another good supermarket opens operations near me I will give them my business regardless of pricing. I am tired of receiving touch and go customer service and I don't like being forced to wait is hellishly long lines with the only alternative being to be my own cashier and bagger. This H-E-B is okay. I only have a few major problems one of them being the employees that walk around with a cart asking you if you would like whatever they have in the cart. Usually if I would be fine with that, but they ask way to often and rather then suggesting it they shove it into your face. They also do it way too often, he was nagging me every five minutes while I was shopping in produce. Speaking of produce it isn't the best there. Their fruits and vegetables are usually dented opened and even rotten. My family and I love samples the only problem is the employees giving them out. My daughter asked if she could have one while I was maybe five feet behind her in plain sight, but the lady was terribly rude when asking where I was and made my daughter unhappy. Lastly the bagging situation. There is plenty of people to bag but when it was our turn to go to the register the bagging lady completely left and went to go talk to another employee . We had tons of items so it was very difficult since my children has to do it as I paid. Overall I know it sounds terrible but compared to other stores it okay. read more

Worst curbside service ever. I am told someone will be out with my groceries in 10 min. This is the 4th time using this service and it take minimum 45 minutes. What a joke!!!!! I am writing this review for the bakery my son likes to get a donut from the donut case they were all out this time so i wanted to get him a cupcake from the bakery there was a man working there and an older lady in back know one would help me i waited and waited the guy working was flirting with a girl a customer non stop talking that i had to say can i get some help. I shouldn't have to say that. There was a couple waiting to get service as well. I don't know the guys name but if your going to flirt look around to see if anyone needs assistance. + I love HEB and this one in particular cause of its location. + It has pretty much everything you need. + Staff are very friendly by making you feel welcomed. - They are in the middle of construction (building and street in front) which means a whole lot of traffic trying to get into HEB - Every time I go, the parking lot is packed! But for some reason, it doesn't seem as crowded when you're actually inside. That of course is a hit or miss. Today the parking lot wasn't as crowded but it was super busy inside. Weird! read more

I came into the store for a late night run of groceries and was pleased to find everything I was looking for in abundance. As I'm checking out, a grocery bagger named Sabrina is putting my purchases back in the cart and is tossing my groceries in. I glared at her and she looked continued to stare back at me with a RBF. The cashier, whom watched her tossed my groceries in the cart smiled then nodded at her to calm down. I didn't make a scene since the store was closing in a few minutes, but I've never had a bad experience with a bagger until now. I understand that as a bagger you might be frustrated that a customer is there until right before closing, but that doesn't constitute being rude and tossing groceries in the cart. Unfortunately, Sabrina looks to be very young and maybe she needs to be taught some manners. Would definitely confront her if I were to have a similar experience with her again. Overall, this H‑E‑B location is in a good area with fully stocked items so besides that experience I'd recommend it. read more

I went to flaming birds inside of this H-E-B. I asked for grilled onions and received one little piece of onion and a jalapeño. I'm allergy to jalapeño. The girl behind the counter got distracted by another coworker and never got me my onions. I'm very disappointed. The workers need to focus on customer care. read more

I enjoy this HEB very much. Pretty great selection of produce and meats/deli had a variety as well. The sushi made fresh and packaged in the store was tasty as well. This store has nice staff, pretty decent size, shelves well stocked, surprisingly even on the weekends (although bread section was pretty bare). Still, this HEB has mostly all I need and it's close so I can't complain. read more

I have to say that this has got to be the worst, most unorganized H-E-B I have ever been to. Not even on the west side do they have this type of mess going on! The aisles are so small, and all of the display cases look like they intentionally made a freaking maze out of the place. We look like mice trying to get in and out of the store because of the heavily displayed items just randomly there. At least line them up! Or make room for your heavy amount of customers in the area. This is not my H-E-B, thank God, and I just so happen to need to come here a few times. Each time I dreaded. You consistently bob and weave through the crowd just to get to where you need to go and get out. If someone comes here and they say, " I'll be right back!" FALSE. They will not. They'll be back in an hour or two for one loaf of bread and some milk. Not worth the time or effort to come here. read more

Someone needs to teach the employees how to stock in the frozen food section. They don't put the product on the shelf correctly and lay it down so they can get 1 or 2 more items on the shelf, problem. Items hang off the shelf and sometimes stacked so high you need to get on the metal bar to get and item hopefully without knocking the entire stack on the floor which has happened to me on more than 1 occasion. I understand that it is quicker to stock like this but incorrect and they are defeating the purpose of the freezer and the shelf edge. Not suppose to have the product in front of the edge. Stacking to high does not allow the freezer air to circulate properly. Needs someone to actually supervise and correct mistakes. Just because Joe stock guy is getting the product on the shelf faster than his buds doesn't make him employee of the month if it is stocked incorrectly. read more

I've had plenty good experiences and some not so good ones but I'll focus on this one. Usually there is always samples on everything from wine to chili this time it was beef and broccoli. Ms. Rosetta was super nice and helpful. She gave me a sample and asked me was it tender and it was. She also helped me find the particular sample she was giving out. The sample was one of their pre-made dinners located right across from the sushi. I enjoy the samples usually every time I go since it gives you an idea of what you're buying before you do. When I got it home and made it, it didn't quite have the same tenderness but it was still good. The grillers are good when they are fresh otherwise it's chewy and that's no bueno. Gia was super helpful at the self-checkout this visit. I was using my own bags and I didn't select the option first so it wouldn't let me continue and that's where Gia came in. She was professional and helpful explaining what to do in the future. Just a little FYI this location is almost always crowded (except early in the mornings) read more

I love this H-E-B! Admittedly, I was super hesitant to shop here because I was so used to the H-E-B plus by our old house. This H-E-B hasn't disappointed a single time. I'm now happier shopping here than going to the giant plus stores. The staff is so friendly and their curbside service is outstanding! read more

I've been shopping at this location for 7 years; steadily service has declined and I became so upset today when the gentlemen at the deli counter didn't acknowledge me and when they did they complained about the lack of coverage on the schedule. Ryron, you work in customer service, please act like it, instead of complaining that you're "all alone", acknowledge customers there, don't look me in the eye and ignore me. I've worked retail in the past and if there was anything I learned was to be kind. I probably will not visit the deli counter at this location again, fortunately there are other stores I can go to. I love HEB so much, it's one of the best groceries stores in my opinion. I'm from Florida, and we don't have HEB there although I wish we did. I especially love this HEB because of its modern look, and it's a plus so it has EVERYTHING. From Halloween costumes and decorations to all the foods you can imagine. It even has a home decor section. The bathrooms were also very clean, and the store itself seemed to be well kept up with as well. The employees were very friendly, kind, and helpful. If you are around San Antonio I'd recommend this HEB. read more

After a hot day working and sweating in the yard I went to my HEB on Kittyhawk Rd. I must have got dehydrated because on the way I began to have severe muscle cramps. Well I hobbled into the store and headed straight to the deli with one thing on mind: pickle juice... It does wonders for muscle cramps. Sylvia in the deli immediately asked me if I needed any help, and I said this will sound weird but I'm dehydrated... "Do you need water?" No, pickle juice... She doesn't hesitate she goes right out to a display and grabs a small container of mini pickles ( with juice) just the perfect size! She peels off the bar code hands them to me and says "it's on me.". No matter my protests she refused to entertain otherwise. This IS my HEB. The HEB gods were smiling down in me had to pay my utility bill got a spot right at the entrance paid my bill in 3 minutes flat and that was with a line. It made me want to stay and shop so I got some fresh produce and fresh bread for tomorrow's lunch! Not too crowded, quick and efficient cashiers, didn't even mind the construction! Can't wait till it's all over and done with! I like that even with the construction the inside is well kept and maintained, kudos to the janitors for clean floors and bathrooms well stocked and clean! read more

First off I'm a REGULAR customer and I buy beer all the time at the HEB. I'm clearly 21 and from North Carolina in which my VALID ID that I got from the DMV portrays. I just moved here. The manager and cashier lady try to tell me that it's a state law that I can't use and out of state ID which is absolutely rubbish. I found it funny how they sold me a La Helada Micheladas but I couldn't buy my bud light while my friend who has a Texas ID and has been living here longer could still buy beer along with his little michelada mix. Normally if "I'm not 21" he can't buy either. Very disappointed. The proof of identification may include a driver's license issued by any state, a U.S. passport, a military identification card or any other ID issued by a state or the federal government to buy alcohol in Texas. If your cashiers are having bad and busy nights don't work them end of story. read more

I normally go to this HEB because they have such a nicer selection than some others close to me. THe past two times I have ordered delivery because it is difficult to go grocery shopping with a toddler. This Thursday, Sept. 6th my order came on time, and the delivery person was great, however the product was not. I was missing several things from my order, to which I notified the store of. They were eager to reimburse me, which I was thankful today. However, today when I went to go use some of he ground beef I ordered, it was rotten. The sell by date is today. I didn't really check it coming into my house, but my refrigerator is at the proper temp. Why would a shopper want 2lbs of grey rotting meat??? I can't even begin to salvage it because the smell is overwhelming. I will not be using their curbside or delivery again from this location. I am so disappointed, and now have to scurry for my planned dinner for my family. read more

This is absolutely our favorite H.E.B. We come here at least 2 to 3 times a week. The organic section is plentiful and the prices are great! I love the prepared salmon dishes they have for u. And my husband's favorites are the chocolate chip muffins and the cheesecake. I love the in store coupons and the various deals they have all the time. read more

I love this heb. There is no other heb like it. The managers are awesome and the food is always fresh. I've had my share of issues with some of the head cashiers which is why I won't give the store five stars but shopping here is always a great experience. we stopped at HEB, on kitty hawk to get a few things, I ran in, while my boy fdrove around. Still very much in headache mode, came out opened the door, sugar our dog got out of the truck, we had no idea.. I never saw her get out. I turned and her seat was empty, we drove back to HEB, i ran in asking if anyone knew anything was blown off. Asked 2 men that worked there who were smoking outside, nothing they never moved. We found her 13 minutes later. She was hit by a small white car, two customers had her scooped up, Jerry and i were freaked. We ran her to the ER VET, nothing broken, just a buised lung and bumps and burses..just got home she okay.. just very roughed up. Thank God that OG was watching out for her. I love love my HEB, but disappointed lately because I don't think they rotate their products or do any kind of quality checks. I love their homemade green salsa that they make and sell in the refrigerated section by the deli; however, it seems like everytime I buy some they're all expired or about to be expired. Luckily the last time I was there, there happened to be an employee there and I brought it to her attention and she removed all of them. The last time I was there, there was actually gallons of milk that had expiration date of the day before. I recently bought hamburger buns, came home and used them same day...only to find that they were old and hard already. Now I feel like I have to check dates on everything I buy, which who has time to do that on every item? Cmon HeB...you're better than this. read more

This is a crowded HEB. It is a good location. They need to have more self checkout lanes or more registers, both would be nice. This HEB is close to my house, but the closest one is at Nacogdoches and O'Connor. HEB is a good company. I ran in here to get some bread. It was absolutely packed. It was a Saturday afternoon and on top of that New Year's Eve. I had NEVER seen an HEB so crowded in my life. There were at least 10 people in each line. I wanted to do self checkout, but the long line was unbelievable. I wouldn't mind an HEB by Rolling Oaks Mall that's for sure. There was a piece of land that they had a sign on for at least 2 years. But, several months ago we asked. A man told us that the HEB by the mall is now on hold. I don't know why that is, they surely could use one. read more

Rotten fruit on the shelf... nasty smelling seafood counter. Meats are simply pathetic. Tonight I brought home 2 packs of beef filets only to find out one was rancid. REALLY!!! 5 HOUSE AFTER I BOUGHT THEM... WTH... Can't tell you how many times I have thrown food away from this location.
