Still on hold called 3 times...so unprofessional need better employees never again

Once every six months, I decide to try and order barbecue at the restaurant and each time it takes so long and is so confusing it's never worth it. Today . It's too bad. We can't just order with a use a system that even the employee screwed up two times before we finally got it the third time. And then the worst part was after I got the food ordered. I turned around and somebody had taken my cart of groceries. I had limited time and could not get a go back and redo everything I had just done. Guess I need to start shopping Amazon for groceries. HEB seems to always be out of everything. This time no walnuts. Walnuts that's not that complicated. read more

Your pharmacy needs improvement, I called the HEB pharmacy in McAllen on 10th and Trenton because your automated system wouldn't recognize my dob, upon speaking to Ricky, he answered my question quickly, however I asked him if he could check on another RX for me and he said, " Let me check." I would like to think the line was disconnected accidentally, however after calling in 4 times ( repeatedly) no one picks up. In addition. You have to speed talk your request, they give you no time to breathe. I will continue trying to see if anyone can follow through with my request. read more

I am the LAST person to waste time leaving a review, but I felt it was necessary. My partner and I always love getting the pizzas from HEB, but this time around we found multiple pieces of hard plastic in our pizza. Not sure what went wrong. I don't think we will be buying pizza from Heb again. :/ read more

A few more items in the international section! His is always great for new recipes, etc to try! Check out the luscious chocolates from Germany! They have chocolate with extra milk for children. And the Middle Eastern goodies! Sauces, etc. Yum! read more

I believe this is the best H-E-B in the McAllen / Edinburg area. I consistently fine competitive prices and great selection on food, pharmacy, grooming and hygiene supplies, home cleaning and kitchen items, greeting cards, floral, bakery and deli items. Well they do a lot of business, they have plenty of checkout counters including express checkout lanes for those with just a few items. I have found the employees to be pleasant and well-trained. The deli has a large variety including many hard to find specialty cheeses such as smoked gruyere and smoked cheddar. Next to the deli area there is a good selection of gluten free flours and products. Today I was looking for a Mother's Day bouquet and found a huge selection of very fresh roses and mixed bouquets. As I was in the checkout line one of the employees came up and handed me a carrier so it would not tip over in the car, and also a $10 off coupon! How many places can you find that kind of service? This H-E-B has a large variety of international foods, not just Mexican but also other items such as Asian, and European. You can choose between so many varieties; eg., local Falfurrias butter to imported Kerry Gold gold Irish butter, Texas made Blue Bell ice cream or an imported Italian gelato. They have a large selection of coffees, teas, both packaged or in bulk for you to grind there. The vitamin and health supplement section can be a bit confusing to navigate, however they carry items we can't find anywhere else such as chromium picolinate to help balance your sugar levels. They have made your name brands as well as their own H-E-B generic which I find to usually be is good as any name brand. H-E-B is known for their meats and seafood, and this particular location seems to always have what I'm looking for. They must have a great management, because they're always fully stocked on seasonal items like for holiday cooking when you're looking for that piecrust or sage seasoning for your turkey dressing. The produce section as organic as well as regular fruits and vegetables. They also have specialty items like yucca root, mamey, baby bok choy, and dragon fruit. I do wish H-E-B had more from which to choose for vegans. One of my daughters is vegetarian, and would like to be vegan, but in this very carnivorous area we have not been able to find enough vegetable based protein options (even at Sprouts). As a chain, H-E-B does really well, but not every store is as nice. You can also fill your gas tank at probably one of the lowest price is around. Good location. 7 min from my hotel. They have many variations and sizes for this chain. This isn't a HEB Plus but it's not the massive one either. They don't carry their HEB Reserve brand lunch meat here which is lame. Out of all the chain grocery stores that offer their own line of food I appreciate HEB the best. Wish they were in the NE. Often get the HEB brand of food and products. read more

I absolutely love my HEB never have I ever been spoken too so rudely before. Delfina in the self checkout needs a job where she does not interact with customers.. heb was slow in the self checkouts I was in a hurry I realize I had more than 10 items but definitely not 30 as she so rudely pointed out by saying "ma'am this is 10 items and you clearly have about 30" her voice & mannerism was not nice! There was literally 3 people using and no line. I've been using that self checkout since they installed it with more than 10 items not one employee has ever been rude enough to tell me otherwise. I'll give her the fact she's observant but her customer service is for the birds. read more

They are always so fully staffed and always have people to assist you which is a big difference from other places. At this location they have a lot food options such as natural, organic, and vegetarian food. That's why I love coming to this place cause it offers it all. I consider this the "good" HEB. Mainly because of the fantastic beer and wine selection. It's hard for a beer snob such as myself to find the tasty beers I love in South Texas, especially at the corner convenience stores and whatnot. The overall layout is slightly confusing, you can only get to the front registers by walking around through and around the produce section or the other way by the deli. Besides the beer and wine selection, this HEB offers sushi, Cooking Connections (a demonstration kitchen that offers recipes and easy meal ideas), and take out Chinese and American food. They have a full seafood department, an in store deli, and an in store bakery as well. Believe it or not, not all HEBs are created equal. read more

This is the best place to do my stuff. Only there is a small problem. You cannot look what you want and they do not even care if you need to walk by. The aisles are not done for those things which are wider than a regular cart. I hope you can resolve this problem. New managers and all employees are very kind. read more

I live extremely close to this HEB love that but other than that its always super clean and organized. They always have a worker near by if you need help with something. At this H-E-B I never have a problem but i was in the line to pay for my groceries and the cashier, Amy, had the WORST attitude and was so rude to me for no reason. This H.E.B. rawks my socks! They have a Sushi-Ya, and the best beer selection of all of the H.E.B. stores in the Mid-Valley. The deli also has really nice import hams, and cheeses. read more

Very rude Florist. Older lady always in a bad mood. I wonder how the plants and flowers don't die with that attitude. Just trying to order prom and she jumped on me and said "NO" a younger teenage girl had already said yes to me and not sure what trigger the other lady to jump in. I spend at least $400 weekly on food for my family and have never been treated this way at HEB.... Everyone is always helpful but this experience really upset me because they should have the proper staff especially during this time of year where people are graduating and having weddings. read more

This location has the best produce section of most of the HEBs I've been to. Their meat/seafood counters are ok, but I find their cheese selection a little lacking. They do have a decent array of Asian foods. I do find it awkward in that their paper/cleaning items are located in aisles that are at a right angle to the usual aisles. For some reason, it makes it difficult for me to find things. Of course, it could just be me! read more

This store used to have good cashiers who were courteous and seemed to know what they're doing, but it has declined greatly. And the sushi is not good anymore. Plus the butchers here leave extra fat and bones on the underside of the meats. Sneaky. The parking lot is usually packed and hard to get around in and trying to exit the parking lot is an exercise in patience to say the least. I dread coming here. read more

This review is strictly on the floral section. I had the termerity to order a floral arrangement just a day before the Father's Day. I should have known better to just pick up one of their ancient arrangements and to leave them to their busy work. Alas, I brazenly picked up my own choice of flowers and a vase and sometime later the florist handed me a vaseful of swishing water and squashed leaves stuck in the vase (by the way the arrangement came out to be $ 65). Something bothered me but I brushed it off by making up my mind, from now on, to try only the floral shop at HEB on Freddy Gonzales, a smaller but friendlier shop at a more reasonable price. When I got back to my car, I realized that the swish would soak my passenger seat even before I got to the destination. I went back to the florist to ask for the sponge, which according to the florist was extra on top of the 40 % labor that was levied not only on the flowers but also on the vase!!! The florist rearragned the flowers with a sponge at no further charge--how gracious it was! Nonetheless, I will continue to shop at this location but my cart will only load produce and foodstuff from now on. read more

I love H EB this is no reflection on the overall store or the way it's ran and everything that's so awesome about it, But the one thing that I totally looked forward to was their donuts they had the most awesome chocolate and with sprinkles donuts ever, way better than anybody else's, And they've been renowned Valley wide for years. I know this seems a little Petty or nit picky but I'm really disappointed that they made a major change on the chocolate and how they glaze their donuts they're horrible , The new chocolate is this slimy, runny, messy disgusting wet drizzle that slides off the donuts, I can get that kind of low quality anywhere else at any other donut shop, I am totally disappointed and will never ever buy any donut from the HEB bakery every again unless they change it back And I promise you when the Winter texans come down here and see they've made this kind of a change they're gonna lose all that business bottom line , You really shouldn't mess with people's donuts fix, if it aint broke don't fix it. disgusting rant over. read more

One of the best HEB'S I've been too. The customer service is fantastic compared to the other ones in the area, it conveniently has cheaper gas, their is always that friendly old man handing out store coupons and always offers us a cart. The store layout is a little confusing at times and the back can get busy traffic but overall has everything we need to shop at. read more

My attitude is always: I paid to move to this neighbor hood what are doing in my HEB, I hope some people will find this funny and I am sure they will share the feeling. My issue with this store is the following. I order something it NEVER gets there. I requested rusks from The Netherlands and they had them for a blue Monday NEVER to be found again? I have requested this over and over. What the hell are there expeditors doing...? I have an idea but will keep it polite. HEB I can spend my money elsewhere for a lot less. Bench mark yourselves against Walmart that is your big competition. I hate getting the bill and being told how much I saved..... Against what? Now Kroger in Houston has it going. I have their card and as a member I save real money not these number that are pulled out if the air. Let me know if you need some plans I consult. I'm reviewing the HEB Kitchen part of Chinese food. The General Joe Chicken, Lemongrass Chicken, and Sesame Chicken are delicious here! The General Joe Chicken has a tangy and somewhat of a spicy because of the crushed red peppers added on there. Lemongrass Chicken is only available on certain days of the week, so order it if you see it! The Lemongrass Chicken is spicier than the General Joe, except it's grilled chicken! Sesame Chicken is sweet, but it's not that great but delicious! The reason it's 3 stars instead of 5 for the Chinese food is the rest of the food there is mediocre at best which means if you're on a budget or want to eat a simple meal of Chinese food, this would be one of the best places to get your Chinese food fix! read more

Been shopping at this HEB since it opened. Customer service has gone down drastically from cashiers to front end managers. Cashiers are to worried talking to each other sharing with other what party they are going to go to on weekends. Front end managers have little to no people skills; one of them stuck tongue out at me (I'm not kidding). I will definitely be making the drive to Pecan HEB from now on. read more
