I love that the isles are wide! Costco has a bakery if you need to order a cake. A deli if you're hungry. They regularly have free samples to try and offer a variety of food and beverages and at times other items, like blenders. When you're exiting there are signs that announce other items that will be demonstrated in the coming days. They offer a few items that you could not find anywhere else, like, brands of cheesecake, ice creams, gluten free pizzas. Wonderful place to shop and fill up on less expensive gas! read more

No ftr, but whatevs. This Costco is shiny and new. Open since March 2012. It's nice because the parking lot is spacious, wide open (not a complete clusterfvck like back home) and the warehouse setup is familiar no matter what random corner of the world you're from. I'm bummed that this food court doesn't feature a uniquely regional snack, like a carne asada bake I got in San Diego, or a corn fritter thingy from Miami that I can't remember the name of (but if you know what I'm talking about, then lemme know so I can edit this). It's all good since you can get tasty snacks on the cheap. What was new to me here was a separate liquor store - no Costco membership required. Like whoa, there's some impressive top shelf bottles on display. Lucky me, it's a Cinco de drinko weekend at SPI. We already have a stocked cooler of beer, ice, and mixers, but I couldn't resist picking up a (1.75L) Captain & (2L) Coke combo for $21.64. The guy working there was super friendly and helpful, mentioning that they're getting a shipment of Captain Morgan Black next Tuesday. Bonus points for the liquor in a plastic bottle since glass is a no no on the beach. You need a membership card to shop at Costco and fill up on gasoline, but you don't need one to get bottles at the liquor store. read more

I absolutely love Costco. I enjoy their commitment to always providing the best organic food possible. And switching out merchandise to make room for new ones. The best part in my opinion is their complimentary samples. It helps me discover new foods or snacks that I may have missed otherwise. The membership fee is worth every penny. Also don't underestimate their 20% gift cards to restaurants like Texas De Brazil. Also the Waterloo's are the best. I hope they never get rid of them. read more

Costco has always been a treat to have close. Their quality is exceptional. I can't beat the taste & value of the great Angus burgers package! It's the best burger even considering going out dining! When I want fruit to have on hand due to heat, I keep a large frozen bag of mangos. It's already cut up & perfect to eat frozen or chopped for the blender!! This last trip I noticed the Instant Red potatoes were gone. I questioned the staff asking how I can change this. I was told to put it in the suggestion box which I did. I won't go off on my rant about the ridiculousness of paying to shop at a store because it doesn't only apply to Costco. What does apply are the store hours and accepted methods of payment. You open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., and only accept cash or American Express? You're a national chain that caters to small business owners! Business owners that have other brands of business credit cards and have to be at work much earlier than 10 a.m.! It consistently feels like Costco tries to find ways to NOT acquire your money. It's not perfect, but it is good enough for me to be a fan. I have never been a member of any of the warehouse places before, so this is all new to me. We decided to join a few weeks ago and have been several times since. You can get some good deals when you use the coupons they send out on items. And the milk and eggs are always a deal, though you have to buy 2 gallons at a time and they expire a bit too quickly. We enjoy the free samples and wandering around the store for a couple hours with the kids to pass time. Wear comfy shoes and being a sweater. Be aware that not everything is a great deal, if you are serious about saving money, take note of the unit price and compare it to Walmart and HEB. read more

Cosco can become very busy crazy and hectic especially on Saturdays because of all the tastings they offer throughout the store. The quality of the products here are superior to the quality of the products sold at Sam's Club. The seafood roadshow is spectacular. It is always full of high-quality products. The gas station usually offers a much better deal than your normal gas station. Though I have never used it they also offer a tire center. The biggest downside to Costco is shops there you are required to have a membership. We pay for a membership and we drive over 20 minutes to get to the Cosco because we believe the products for that far superior to products offered at other stores. read more

But we have the "deluxe" Executive membership, and we've crunched the numbers. It pays for itself many time over each year. Your results, of course, may vary based on how much you shop here. Also, just check the store policies on the Costco website if in doubt. But trust me -- all Costco warehouses take Cashish, Amex, and all major bank debit cards. I fell in love with Costco in San Antonio and now that I moved back to Brownsville, I have continued this love affair, but I have to drive almost 1 hour away to Pharr to get my shopping fix :(.... I am ok with that because the quality of products and service I receive here are far superior than the other big chain membership store I don't even want to mention. I don't care if that store is only 15 minutes away from my house, I refuse to give them my $$. It is a great store. Fair prices, good quality products, great customer service, and generous sample options. They stand behind every product they sell even when the manufacturer doesn't. Their gasoline prices are always good and it is never crowded. You have to pay a fee to join, but you do get that money back in savings in the long run. I used to be a Sams customer but not now, I try to make purchases at Costco when I can and other grocery stores for the smaller stuff. I'm surprised no one has yet written a review of the new Costco in Pharr. I suppose the best way to review this well-known warehouse store would be to compare it with the similar Sam's Club about 1/4 mile away. Initially, we went a day or two after it opened. They had associates outside the store to assist in creating memberships. This process was literally painless. I had anticipating standing in line for hours to get a membership, so this was a pleasant surprise (this was only during the first few days--now one has to go to the customer service area to purchase a membership). Anyway, I was impressed with the efficiency exhibited by the employees,who are all obviously new to the company. Like Sam's, you have to produce your membership card to gain entry. The store is spacious, and even on a Saturday afternoon, didn't seem as crowded as Sam's does on a Wednesday morning. One of the main differences between Costco and Sam's, is that you don't necessarily have to purchase items in huge quantities. They do have smaller amounts available for purchase, although still larger than what you would have to buy at a regular grocery store. So far, I've been there three times, and have been impressed each time with the quality and variety of selections. It seems to have a somewhat more upscale choice of items--the lone exception being cheeses. Sam's Club has the best selection of cheese (yes--I must admit a cheese obsession). While Sam's has a variety of cheeses from Basque Ossau-Iraty to Laura Chenel chevre (Alice Waters' fave) to large wedges of my treasured Grana Padano and Pecorino Romano, Costco seems to be content to sell bricks of Tillamook (a fine domestic cheese, but available at HEB). There is a good meat and fish selection at Costco, as well as prepared foods. There were some beautiful rainbow trout, cod, and dungeness crabs available when I was there last. I was a little disappointed to see that they sold Atlantic salmon (see the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch if you're not familiar with the product). The produce is more varied than that at Sam's, and there is even a liquor store attached, albeit somewhat limited as to spirits. The wine selection is a little better than Sam's, although both stores have a good variety of affordable wines. BTW--the Costco Margarita mix is fantastic--lol! As far as the drug store items, I did notice that the razor blades my husband uses are about $8 less than at Sam's, and Sam's did have the best price in town on those. I will continue to keep memberships at both warehouse clubs, but I think Costco is my new crush! read more

Overall satisfied however today I wanted to buy a vacuum packed New York strip prime for 7.29 a pound total of around 100.00 dollars when I asked the butcher if he could slice he said certainly but it would cost a little more when I asked he told me regular price of 10.99 needless to say I'm not have New York strips tonight. read more

LOVE COSTCO!!!! I shop here every week and buy pretty much everything I need here. Costco quality is top notch and their kirkland brand out does any other house brand. Looking to BBQ? They have prime cut beef and range free chicken. Awesome! Need some furniture? They have very cost friendly durable furniture. I've spent thousands on furniture here for my house and it still looks amazing. The best part about it, if for any reason I am dissatisfied or have an issue with one of their products I can return it, no questions asked. Where are you going to find a retailer like that? Forget walmart or sams club! Oh can't forget about their gas station. Good gas for a great price, usually 20 to 30 cents less than other gas stations per gallon. Although you pay for a membership I end up saving much much more than the price of a membership. read more

It's relatively new. I love how its not crowded or packed with screaming kids or people like Sam's. There's not that many people here, so this feels like its my own Costco, parking is awesome, lines are always short, and not to sound elitist, but something about Costco attracts more middle and upper class families/people. I always run into doctors when I come here. Sometimes I do get suckered into buying large amounts, but the quality is always superb. I hope this location always remains that way and doesn't devolve into Sam's. read more

Costco is awesome. I really shouldn't have to say anything else. It has great prices and quality products. One thing you notice right away and Costco is that the employees seem to actually enjoy working there and the customer service level is fantastic. Returning an item I customer service is incredibly easy you don't even have to have your receipt as long as you have your membership card they can take care of it for you. And you can return pretty much anything that you end up not liking whether it's socks,cake, beauty supplies, tools, wine. On their Kirkland signature brand they have an unconditional moneyback guarantee it so for instance if you buy a bottle of Kirkland wine take it home open it up drink half of it decide you don't like it though give you your money back. Costco saves us a lot of money on their Kirkland signature paper products such as paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, and tissues. They are great quality at a great price. There are two membership level options there is the basic in the executive. The basic cost $55 a year and does not have any perks. Executive cost $110 a year but you get 2% cashback on all your purchases inside the store, however this does not include the gas station. 2% is not a lot of cash back but if you pay the executive one time upfront at the beginning you usually get enough cash back to pay the majority of your membership all of the following years, so it makes sense to pay more upfront and then have it cheaper for the rest of your life. Plus when you sign up as an executive member you usually get a good $50-$100 worth of free items in coupons. Their pharmacy has the best prices around hands-down plus the workers are super helpful. Simply said, I cannot recommend Costco enough. read more
