I purchased a book to be picked up at this store, so I did not have to look around, but it was so inviting, I did. Barnes & Noble has books of all kinds, but it also has so much more than books! I saw at display of Lego sets that become floral bouquets, bonsai trees, and other amazing things. They sell vinyl records, DVDs, gifts, and toys. They have a coffee shop, a place for classes and community events. Their children's space is wonderfully decorated and looked like a great place to take children or grandchildren. The displays were well organized according to category - everything from fiction to philosophy, devotionals, science, and much, much more. Since I have a stack of books I'm already working on, I didn't take the time to find another one to add to it - though, considering their selection, I'm sure I would have found several. I made my way to the check out and presented my receipt for the book I purchased online, and they had it waiting for me. The young man at the counter was courteous and efficient. Enjoy this Barns & Noble. Clean! Other location off expressway near Mission isn't always clean and it seems a bit more crowded. Restrooms are always clean! Children's section may get a little messy, but it's to be expected. This area is cleaned up in timely fashion! There is a small area for children to sit and read; it's decorated with small creatures and very welcoming! There is a Starbucks inside and there is plenty of seating! Magazines are grouped and stocked nearby so it's a great place to check out some mags you may be interested in purchasing. So many and ones that I never knew about. Interesting! Cool toys and games for adults and children!!! Fun! Great bookstore and you gotta give yourself at least an hour to wander around and check out what Barns & Noble has to offer! If you didn't know, there is an ISBN NUMBER located on all books sold, and you can use this number if you want to order a book! You'll find this number on the back bottom right hand. I love coming here to get a new book or just have a cup of coffee. The place is always clean and the staff are very friendly and know where everything is located. There is a Starbucks with many options, a kids section, and many other type of section for books such as fantasy or food. There are many seats to relax on and they also sell other types of stuff like journals or music. Definitely come here! read more

I typically go to the other Barnes and Noble by the expressway. Yesterday I went to this one on North 10th and I think I found my new Barnes and Noble store. It was very clean, I was greeted as soon as I walked into the store by at least three different smiling people. As I perused the store, I was asked by two different people if I needed any assistance. I said no thank you and they were not pushy or insistent. The employees are very young and so respectful and cheerful. Once I got to check out - a wonderfully helpful, smiling employee named Ashley helped me very quickly and thoroughly. Asked me how my day was, and seemed to have a way of making people feel like she cares. Excellent experience from start to finish. Truly loved the store and the environment these employees create for their buyers! read more

I love books and I like a nice, quiet place to read. Here is the place to go! The staff is always helpful, they have books just about everything (I have gone numerous times and found EVERY book in needed in various subjects and topics), they have a nice little cafe, a kids sections, a healthy foods and books section, a magazine section, fantasy, everything! there's even a few places to sit! If you need a journal, they've got plenty of those as well! I love coming here with and spending my entire afternoon reading and checking out everything they have. oh, they also have cds and dvds. :) I can spend my whole day here if i wanted too unlike other bookstores i've been too. :) read more

I didn't spend any time in the book store. but the cafe was ok. i ordered tea but it was a little weak. and the wifi was terrible. i couldn't even open an email, much less google hangouts like i wanted. plus it was crowded with not much sitting room. not a good place to try to skype/google hangouts with someone read more

I came in looking for a couple books and asked if they price matched they indicated no. Then the girl as I walked away under her breath said Walmart, I turned and said what she said ummm Walmart. She basically made me feel that she was calling me cheap. When I confronted her she was nervous. I'm from austin and this small minded mentality is what we don't need. I have never had a problem at Barnes and Noble but my visit today was a little irritating. Linda the cashier up front turned me away insinuating that i cut the line since I didn't go through their gifts/accessories leading up to the registers. The reason for that? A family was blocking the area while BROWSING through the shelves. Initially i was going to go up right behind them but like i said, they were still looking around. I didn't mind that the family was still looking, but why should someone who is ready to pay have to wait behind people who are still shopping? Since it was about 5 of them standing there, not moving up to the open registers, I decided to skip that area and head straight to pay. Linda tells me she will be with me in a moment. She says this to me because I was really the only person there at the time. When she is ready moments later, she notices the family barely coming around the corner and refused to ring my one item up even though i was the only customer there when I first approached her. I wasn't interested in browsing, I just wanted to pay. I have worked retail so maybe it's why I'm so bothered because I would never send a customer who is ready to pay away. I did not cut the other people off, I am not a rude person, I just did not feel like waiting behind people who are still browsing the gifts/accessories near the registers. Why should I? read more
