We had come to buy a box of heated pads for the back, but none were to be found. Next, I wanted to buy some hand sanitizer but the selection wasn't varied. I chose from what was available and looked around for other things that might be on sale as part of a close-out. My wife and sister both agreed that the sale wasn't as good, considering that the store was about to close. We didn't end up buying anything else. The guy that charged us looked like he just wanted the few days left to be over. We weren't greeted nor was he smiling when charging us. The overall experience of this Walgreens wasn't the best, but considering that it's now closing, it's as good as it was going to get.

It turns out that prescriptions cost a little less-so it's a win-win. WALGREENS called the other location and had them forward my other prescriptions. Easy peasy!!! This Walgreens is one of the oldest in the Rio Grande Valley, yet it doesn't show like it is aging…read moremuch. It's very well kept and always looks organized on the inside. This is also one of the few Walgreens that is opened 24 hours a day. I've had to come here before at extremely late hours. Other Walgreens in the surrounding area aren't open 24 hours, but this one is and that makes it very dependable. There is a Redbox on the outside of Walgreens, which makes it ideal to rent movies when you have nothing to do. This place used to be the place were I would buy video game magazines, as their magazine selection is extensive. However, I tried doing that recently and I couldn't find a single one. They seem to have gotten rid of those magazines so I was disappointed on that. For your medical or beauty needs, this is the place to go.

I have been shorted on my medication and the pharmacists were rude and unhelpful, asserting that they count everything twice (even though my bf saw that "counting" meant sweeping big palm-fuls of pills across the counter) and that their inventory was correct. The pharmacist didn't call me back when she said she would after I asked (very nicely, I promise) that they count again. Shifty characters there, so count your pills before you leave!

The deli and bakery sections were well stocked. The meat section had good looking meats (though I'm still sticker shocked at the price of beef). During this visit the shelves for eggs were mostly barren... reminiscent of late 2024. There were no 18 count cartons - only large eggs by the dozen or by flat carton. ...and not many of those. Checkout lines with a cashier were long, so I went through the self checkout line. They have a few that have converter belts for those with larger amounts of groceries. I'm not fast, but I'm accurate, and eventually made it through. Most Walmart Supercenters are about the same, but they can vary on what particular products are offered and the store layout. This Walmart carries a particular item my regular Walmart does not carry, so I trekked across town to this one with my list. I found most of what I needed, but discovered they did not carry another two essentials on my list. I ended up having to shop at two different Walmarts to find everything I needed. I am not complaining. I remember life before Walmart and shopping for hours at several different stores to find half as much. It's still a great store ... people feel so at home some come dressed in their pajamas or less.

Our favorite part of this one (besides having our cheap TV!), was the Wetzels Pretzels up front! It smells awesome and the pizza pretzel was delicious! Lots of self paying spots. Parking lot is huge.
