I found the store welcoming and pleasant. It is one of the cleanest, prettiest, and well ordered grocery store I've entered. It is not as big as some of their competition, but what they do is done very well. I was offered help by more than one employee. They were friendly and helpful. Sprouts is known for offering more organic foods, allergen-free, gluten-free, and vegan options than other places. I have a family member that cannot eat gluten, so I was pleased to find her a gluten-free Dutch apple pie and some brownies she can eat for Thanksgiving. I don't have dietary restrictions- and found some delicious cookies for me, and scones for my wife. Sprouts has the most beautiful produce department I've seen. Everything looked super fresh. Their meat department offered cuts of meat, poultry, salmon and more... and they even had pre seasoned, grill-ready meats. The deli had some amazing food options, and fresh sandwiches made to order. Like most supermarkets, they have flour and the rest for baking, cereals, canned goods, etc. But what was unique is the selection, brands, the variety, and the healthy options. Their Spouts coffee section smelled heavenly. They have a good variety of coffee, both whole bean (which you can have ground right there) or already ground and packaged. Sprouts even has over-the-counter meds, hygiene and personal care products, and a small selection of floral bouquets. Another feature you don't see in most other places are bulk nuts, seeds, granolas, snacks, candies, dried fruit, and cereals sold by the pound. The prices run a tad higher than at other places, but what you get is quality and healthy options along with "designer" food brands and products. Take your own reusable bags, or be prepared to purchase reusable bags (cloth or plastic). You may still need to stop at another store to get everything on your list, but I can say the same thing about their larger competitors. It really is worth checking them out.

Jerusalem Mediterranean Bistro faces Trenton Road in a small shopping center at the intersection with Sugar Road. It's flanked by other stores and because it's not large it's easy to miss. As I walked inside I was intrigued by the calm ambience and the soft Middle Eastern music playing in the background. The window had a beautiful display of various sets of tea and coffee pots and cups, dates, nuts, as well as other items. I walked down the wall on the right which is lined with shelves containing all kinds of Middle Eastern foods for sale: canned, dry foods, spices, and even a freezer in the back with frozen foods, most of which I won't try to spell. Only one I remember well enough and that is the frozen falafel ready to heat up and enjoy at home. The owner / operator welcomed me, and even gave me a free sample of hot tea as he explained that all their ingredients are authentic and imported from the Middle East. As I waited for a friend who was to join me I viewed the menu and saw they offer gyros, falafel, shawarma, sandwiches, soups, kabobs, salads, and plates of lamb, beef, chicken and more. They have Vegan or vegetarian options as well with entrees like lentil soup, hummus, salads, etc. For drinks they have imported drinks, teas, juices, carbonated and non-carbonated, mineral waters, fresh water, and beers. You can get tacos and a soft drink anywhere. Here, you can get authentic Mediterranean cuisine and an imported drink unlike anything you've had before. I got the gyro, the lentil soup, and a Freez carbonated fruit drink. They were all delicious. The fries that came with the gyro was so good and well seasoned I didn't need Ketchup. The Tzatziki sauce on the gyro was amazing. The lentil soup was also delicious and satisfying like a comfort food. Prices are very reasonable - especially considering much is imported. The service was excellent and friendly. This is a great place for a business lunch or a place to meet uo with friends or family. My friend and I really enjoyed our meal and want to return. Do yourself a favor and try them out!

The hummus was simply divine. The best hummus I've ever had. Paired with the soft, fresh pita, every bite was perfect. The garlic sauce instantly brought me back to my childhood. Some flavors have a way of unlocking memories, and this was one of them. And the tea was the perfect ending. Of course, there is the supermarket and a café (which sells pizza), but today's review is limited to my experience with the tacos. I chose tacos of carne guisada. I was offered a choice of flour or corn tortillas. I prefer corn, but the tortillas are smaller than the flour ones. So I ordered three tacos. It turns out, since the corn tortillas are smaller (and the same price as flour) they compensate by using two corn tortillas side by side as one taco. I wish I had known that, because two would have been more than enough. They wrap the tacos individually in foil, and offer the salsa of your choice added in small plastic lidded cups. As they assemble the tacos, they drain the broth from the guiso. I'm guessing the broth is where most of the flavor is, as the meat, while very tender, did not have much flavor. Thank God for the salsa which made up for that. I enjoyed the tacos, but three was too much for me. I also had some delicious fresh squeeze limeade (limonada). Next time I will probably get the plate, because the tortillas got soggy fast as tacos. Overall I enjoyed it and think you will too. Their prices are reasonable, and the service was friendly.
