Always attitude and poor customer service. Store is always dirty. They never have enough human…read morecheckers. One or two (or none) checkout lanes open with a full store of shoppers. The lane that is open always has someone with a hundred items in their basket forcing people who don't have time to wait to the self checkout which usually is also full and has a wait. The self checkout machines function poorly and don't report half the items you scan. It always calls for an adsociate to "help" who then accuses you of not scanning items. They are horrible in dealing with people and smart alecs. One spoke to me like I was trash and did something wrong. Turns out she was wrong. Tried to double charge me for two items. Then it said two other items weren't scanned in whrn THEY WERE!. Then she refused to come back to release the machine when the same exact thing happened 30 seconds later. Just ignored me. A manager haf to come straighten it out. And then when I left he was speaking to another manager in the corner that was just glaring at me. Maybe if they hired and paid enough people to properly run the registers and checkout lines instead of having kids and trailer park trash standing around accusing people of trying to steal when the problem is their machines, just maybe this wouldn't happen. I told her I would not be coming back and that Brookshires is much cleaner anyway...she said something like so what, it doesn't matter anyway. Absolutely unnacecptable customer service and everyone should boycott Kroger in Palestine Texas. Definitely the best grocery store in town. Fresh produce, more choice for organics, speedy…read morecheck-out, and a staff that is friendly and responsive. It's refreshing to go into a store where the employees actually know something, and have the authority to do things to deal with challenges on the spot. Deep discounts for gasoline at their gas pump, for frequent shoppers -- up to $1 per gallon off. That single thing has me choosing this store as often as possible, for everything that I need that they happen to carry. Kroger has a great app for using digital coupons, and creating an aisle-by-aisle shopping list. The shopping list isn't perfect, but it sure helps when they decide to *move* everything about every 5 years. Every store in the area does this -- I guess we just have to live with it. They try to help customers as much as possible during the transition, by posting new aisle maps for us to use. Or, you can search for the item in the Kroger app on your phone. Great store.
