Its Saturday night and I treated myself to a very tasty, quick pasta prepared meal from HEB. I was not disappointed with their Lemon Garlic Shrimp Scampi, which is an upgrade of the classic, enhanced with fresh ingredients in every bite. Instead of bread I went with their Pita Chips. I wish I could give zero store stars to this store because of one employee in the self check out isle named VANESSA. She was very rude to me and my family while we were trying to check out. She proceeded to rudely tell us that only one person was allowed at the pay station and that everyone had to "go over there " and pointed in the direction. I was really shocked at this because being from California I was expecting southern hospitality but she did not show any. Also, I've been to other H-E-B locations and that employee did not adequately reflect the customer service I have previously experience. I am writing this in hopes that upper management recognizes this so it does not to happen again to another guest. read more

Never , I mean never have i had a problem with HEB like I did on December 30, 2017(the day before my wedding) . I had gone in a month earlier to order a cake because I found online that they make wedding cakes and they are affordable. I placed my order for a cake with the "simply stunning" design and paid $50 as a deposit so all i would have to pay when picking up was $100, I also had 3 dozen cup cakes made. I went the day before my wedding and about a hour before my rehearsal dinner to pick this cake up. It was the worst cake i had ever seen in my life. I asked to speak to a store manger and that's when i got directed to speak to Evann. This lady had to be the worst manager I have ever come across. She proceeded to tell my best friend and I that the cake wasn't "that bad" . This cake was lacking so much icing , leaning and completely off centered along with the smallest cup cakes that were burnt , i was better off getting something out of their display case. I proceeded to tell her I will NOT be taking this cake and would like my refund. As she called the bakery manager and they laughed and snickered in the phone she said she could only give me my money back with out the $50 deposit included because i was there to "pick it up". After i argued with her and told her that I will not be taking anything she continued to argue with me and my best friend . Finally after being in tears over anger i was directed to Frank who gave me a full refund while Evann sat there and snickered like it was funny . At the end of the day, I had no wedding cake and missed my rehearsal dinner because Evann wanted to argue with me that this cake looked kinda like the picture . Also spoke to the General Manager Terry who was extremely understanding and knew exactly where I was coming from. That's the only reason I give this HEB 2 stars instead of one because Terry and Frank went above and beyond to help with the situation even though it was already too late. read more

These stores are disgusting! I'm here on business for 2 weeks from Phoenix and shopped at two H-E-B stores while in Corpus. Upon entering the stores I thought I was in a Third World Country. Both stores were an absolute dump. Was going to pick up some oranges but all of the fruit looked like it was run over by a truck before put out on display. Everything was smashed, moldy and looked to be inedible. Couldn't get out of the store fast enough. read more

Very run down HEB. The store is laid out really strange, I couldn't' find anything. Only a few fresh baked bread to choose from. Only two Boars Head meat selections in the deli. I think I will try the HEB Plus next time. read more

First time returning an item. Was inexpensive and accused of stealing because front door person didn't do her job. Customer Service did not help AT ALL. The woman laughed at me and said to take the item that was gifted to me back to where I bought it. Never coming back here. Firstly, I have been a bakery customer for over 20 years. HEB #07 in Corpus Christi, Texas has always prepared tasty pastries for family celebrations and birthdays, so it goes without saying that the cakes are good. I am partial to buttercream frosting, but it's not Elite frosting's fault. It's just a preference, But, I am most impressed with the bakery staff's customer service and professionalism. Once there was a slight mix up with an internet order, but the bakery manager, Julie, and her staff were quick to remedy the problem. They made sure that my cake was ready when it needed to be w/o excuses, and even offered us a complimentary cake in the future. Most recently, I placed an internet order for a birthday cake for my daughter's 21st birthday. After ordering the cake I realized that I chose the wrong filling. I called the bakery the next day and spoke to baker partner, Amber. I explained my snafu and asked to change the filling. I also asked to add an image to the cake. Amber was professional and asked me to call her in 30m to see what she could do. I called her back as requested and I am happy to say that she told me they were able to accommodate my changes without an extra charge. My order wasn't for a huge cake, but my dilemma was treated with as much care as if I ordered a full sheet, or more bought a more expensive cake. In my opinion, HEB delivers 5 star cakes and 5 star staff! I will definitely keep coming back. read more

I'm visiting from Washington and I have an out-of-state drivers license but it's also a passport; well the young gentleman who was cashing me out was very kind and he was just doing his job I do understand that but the manager named Frank was very rude and insulting . he did not even give me the decency and respect to look me in the eyes now I don't know if this is because I am a woman or any other reason Maybe being manager is the most authority he's ever had but the cashier said if it's an out-of-state ID he just has to get a check by manager . Of course I understand that I travel a lot. Unfortunately when he comes back to the register he tells me that he cannot do the alcohol transaction because it is out of state now that is clearly a lie because he told me all he had to do was get it checked . You could even scan it to the register I think that's why they have the barcodes or the magnet on the back because I've had people do that before in my ID I know I am very young I am 22 but my ID is legal I paid a lot of money for it to be a passport as well and I was very offended by the manager Frank who had no respect accused me and embarrassed me of having a fake ID. read more
