Been going to Monica for 8 years now. Fabulous and straightforward consulting and simplified filings. Have sent others to her and had the same experience. read more

I had some tax questions and an appointment with an accountant in this office, but due to scheduling confusion, ended up coming a week early. So instead of meeting with the person I thought I was going to see, Ian Issac, one of the tax advisors there, said he would help me if it was something he could help me with. I sat with him for a half hour and he patiently answered all my questions. He was so kind - and he charged me nothing at all for helping me enough that I can continue to do my taxes on my own. I am grateful! I know this office has some bad reviews - but I would recommend Ian Issac as a tax person who definitely not there to make money off clients, but to be knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you Ian. read more

Really and service. Messed up our taxes. The entire place is a scam. They hired a guy that didn't include a form. It was done wrong. Never go here. They are ruining peoples lives. read more

They promise transparency with the fees this year, but when I asked the accountant to charge my credit card what I owed to the IRS, I was simply told there would be a charge, which I assumed was a couple of dollars. The amount of the fee was not disclosed. I checked my account after I got home and found a $77 fee charged to my account for using my Visa card!!! I immediately called to have them reverse the charges, as all businesses do without hesitation, they refused to honor my request. Not only that! The site manager Amy even advised me to ask my bank to dispute the charge on my credit card. I asked her if that would work, to which she replied, "Yes, I have done this before." Not true! My bank said it cannot be disputed. Transparency? Yeah, right!! read more

Submitted my info to have my taxes filed over a month ago. My taxes were assigned to Elizabeth Knoss at this location. She has not filed my taxes and has ignored all my messages asking for updates. My taxes are now extremely late even though I got the info to HR Block within plenty of time, the rep at HR Block didn't even bother to file am extension for me. I know message daily asking for the status amd if HR Block is going to cover the penalties/late fees since they did not file it on time. Of course my messages have been ignored. read more

Should be shut down. They screwed up our taxes, we overpaid, had to pay a new accountant to correct the error. We had "piece of mind" but that seems to be useless. They were also rude on the phone. An absolute joke. Will be reporting to BBB. read more

Receptionist was not only rude, but incompetent as well. The online appointment system allows you to book in person tax preparation, but they don't allow this type of appointment. It took them over 3 hours to prepare my taxes after being told it would an hour. Called them to inquire about my taxes and the receptionist was rude and did not recall me dropping off my forms. Ridiculous. I would give it zero stars if I could. read more

On a Wednesday morning at 10:20 AM I walked in the office (through a door that said "walk-ins welcome" and I noticed one other person waiting and there was another person in a cubicle with, I assume, one of the agents. I sat down and waited. There was no acknowledgment that I even entered the office and the agent also answered a phone call while I waited. If there was another employee there I do no know. I waited about 10 minutes without any acknowledgment at all after which I walked out. I guess "walk-ins" are not welcome. At least I did not feel welcome. A simple acknowledgement would have been nice. read more

Great experience! Ask for Arthur "Lee" Curry. Greeted me professionally, handled my taxes like a pro, and left with a hug. Definitely returning to him next year. read more

Im just going too stop filing my taxes. Im never filing my taxes again, Im done, I've had it, I don't give a shit if I get arrested. Make sure you ask them how much they are going to charge you before you let them do your taxes. Not only are you going to be surprised with how much you'll owe in taxes compared to last year (Thank you Paul Ryan) but you could also end up paying a small fortune to H & R Block for doing your taxes if you don't get a solid quote from them first. read more

This office did my taxes 2 years at the start of the pandemic never received my tax return. I inquired about it to the tax professional Melinda Bowen who did my taxes she said someone should call me. Nope never got a phone call. Left a review and the there was a corporate number left in the review response. I called and they said they couldn't do anything because the office has to send in a reissue form to H&R Block so they can send me another check. Went to the office mentioned this to them and they didn't know what I was talking about. These tax professionals don't even know how to fix their own problems yet they say they know what to do when you have tax problems. Be aware if you file with this office! read more

I had a great experience at this H&R Block! I have always prepared my own tax returns but with the new health care law, I wanted the professionals to take care of me. I spoke to the manager, Clem and he was very reassuring and 100% confident they will take care of me. He referred me to Ashley McCormick. She was very friendly and completely helpful to me. She clearly explained my situation and gave me valuable tips. After talking to her, I was no longer confused and was satisfied my concerns will put to rest. I would highly recommend to go to Ashley if you need any tax services! read more

I was very disappointed in what I was charged this year which was 3 times more than last year. Last year I paid $130 and this year $370. No major changes expect for a few additional write offs! I have a very hard time justifying what I paid for considering it took an additional 5 lines to fill out which took less than 10 min. The appointment took 1 hour including some chatting. Even though the gentleman that helped me was very informative and very nice (Roger), I feel completely ripped off by the company. I could have denied their services but considering it is almost 4.15 and how difficult it may be to reschedule an appointment somewhere else, I ate the cost. Today I regret not just away as I clearly got ripped off. Lesson learned! read more

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. Today, while calling the store with valid questions after using them for tax services. I was hung up on by Roger, an employee there who offered no assistance to me, or to transfer me to somebody else in the store. Then, while calling back Cindy at the front desk did virtually the same thing to me. On top of all of this, the gentleman who did my taxes seemed so out of it. I was concerned with his stability and ability to handle other people's money. I definitely would recommend going anywhere in Thousand Oaks but here:) read more

Terrible phone service, the women who answer the phone sounds tired and unhelpful, she's not even able to answer in yes and no.. I don't want to experience it and pay hundreds of dollars for a simple tax returns. Zero read more

My 2020 tax return has a simple mistake that needs to be corrected. It will require refiling I am sure. I purchased the protection plan as this isn't the first mistake I have experienced here. I called on Monday, left a message for "the preparer" and never received a return call. Today, I left work early to see if the service was better in person, it wasn't! The "receptionist" was on a call with a client, however, was very talented. She was able to text the entire time she was giving advice, she was also rude. I am sorry for disturbing her texting time or Facebook time. I have been going here for years, what a disappointment. I am glad I used Agoura Tax Services this year, I already received my return, they caught the error. Anyone can input data with a program, buy Turbo Tax and save $300+. Last year due to Covid, we couldn't sit there to watch the data being inputted live or we would have caught the error. Bad, bad, noncaring customer service! read more

Lee Curry was amazing. Got my taxes done quickly and efficiently! Would highly recommend him! And H & R block!

I would avoid this place if I were you. The accountant seemed more confused about my CP2000 form than I was. I flat out finally asked him (after he looked puzzled for a solid 10 minutes) if he was familiar with the educational credits and the American Opportunity Credit, and he gave me a blank stare. Then he proceeded to tell me that I probably received a credit for my age.. umm okay. The American Opportunity Credit has to do with education, not age.. slightly concerning that an accountant did not know this. When I tried to inform him what it was, he had the nerve to say "young lady, how old are you?". He essentially was implying I was too young to know what I was talking about. I told him I was going to go somewhere else and deal with someone who I felt more confident in and he legit just laughed. HORRIBLE service.. I would spend the extra money and go elsewhere.. read more

Sherli Shamoon did an excellent job preparing my taxes! She was very thorough and efficient in guiding me through the entire process. This is the 2nd year in a row that I've gone back to Sherli, her and the H&R Block staff here are top notch. read more

Do NOT use H&R Block. I took my axes into this location to have them double checked. I was sent there by H&R Block Technical support and was told they would review them for accuracy. I had already spent three weeks working with the technical support department, and they said I would receive the help I need from a local office who would be able to review them for accuracy. When I arrived for my appointment, the advisor was unable to provide a proper review. It was clear he really had no experience with the tax code. I was told they would need to redo my taxes on their system because what they use in their office is different then the user program I created my taxes on. I asked them if they were sure they would re-doo my entire return, and they said yes, and that it would take a few days. I went home and spent two hours gathering up all my documentation and putting together a package with all the information they needed. After nearly a week, and speaking to three different people who said they were working on my review, I was finally told they would not touch them until after April 17th. They didn't care that I would have to file an extension and pay penalties. The people in this office lack professionalism, and integrity. You do not want people like that having access to your personal information, and relying on them to complete your taxes. After 15 years of using H&R Block I'll never use them again. read more
