I used Troy 2 years in a row and was really displeased, because he just had us drop our paperwork…read moreoff, did our taxes and charged us $300 .. What the heck did he do?? He asked NO questions of us to find out if we had possible deductions.. I decided to have my husband and I go elsewhere. The tax service we went too asked to see our previous 2 years, because after she did the current year, I told her that I was so happy because Troy didn't do much and didn't itemize and charged us what seemed like a lot of money. When she did that current year we got a bigger refund.. She then redid the 2 years that Troy did and found that he didn't itemize our deductions at all. We ended up amending those 2 years and got over $4000 EACH year that he had done them. I am sorry, but if you are going to do someones taxes, you should do them WITH them there and ask them questions, so you get as many deductions for them as you can. I felt that he was lazy in that area and would never go back to him.

We've had H and R Block do our taxes for years but will never ever let anyone from there touch our…read moretax information again! It is nearing the end of 2016 and I am still on hold with the IRS for over 1 hour now trying to get our 2014 taxes situated. H and R Block messed up our taxes for 2014 SEVERAL TIMES. In our initial appt, we were welcomed late, rushed out early, the preparer said what we would owe, but that he would finish the work later on to submit for us bc he had another client and inputting the stock information on ours would take some time. He got our electronic signatures...then apparently sent off our info to the IRS completely different than what he had told us....and completely wrong. We find out later, that he left out a dependent, try to get it corrected, the office is closed, go to ANOTHER H and R Block office on 6th street, I left there thinking I would be getting a nice little refund, only to be called back and told actually I needed to drive back to their office, pick up more paperwork, we still owed money. We sent out the amount they then told us we owed, only to find out from the IRS we had to send more money. Now we have a notice from the IRS that there was another issue we still owe money on. The IRS caught this issue that they messed up. I caught the first issue. I've spent hours upon hours on hold with the IRS, too much time sifting through all of the different sets of paperwork they gave me trying to figure out what in the world was going on, so much stress and worry and anxiety over this 2014 return that they messed up then kept messing up. We trusted them to do this correctly in Feb 2015 before taxes were due and now it is Oct 2016 and we still don't have this straightened out. We have owed extra interest, fees, I've driven back and forth to Springfield, with kids in tow, sitting and sitting. I tried to reach their management to help me get back my interest and fees and penalties that I **only** have because they failed me but I only get a runaround. It's never the right person to help me, it's never anyone else's fault. Well I know it sure as heck wasn't OUR FAULT. We were in that office, all information right there, when this tax preparer rushed us off then tried to get back in the system later on to help us he messed everything up, and it's been a mess since. Do not go to these people. I've never ever been more disappointed in a company in my life. Try to take your time and do your own taxes, just go through the steps one by one. At least you will know what you submit to the IRS, not have someone else submit a wrong return for you. If you are scared to do this, find another company. This could be the biggest nightmare of your life. It's consumed me for far too long. Oh, yes, while I am writing this, on hold with the IRS, someone picked up the phone there and disconnected me.....
