I got a confirmation, and then two emails from the calendar confirming the appt, and an email from Lyle saying he could meet with me for 15 minutes. I didn't notice that the calendar appointments were set for 3pm, instead of my requested time. I sent 2 emails, with no reply, and decided to wait until 3 pm. As of this posting, (3:30pm) I still have not heard from Lyle, nor anyone else at Prepared Accounting about my appointment. No invitation to go to meeting, nor any word as to why my appointment time changed inexplicably. I guess I will keep looking for a good CPA.

I came back to Lyle and Prepared Accounting as we began renovations on our commercial space and just in time for tax season. Despite being in full tilt for the April tax deadlines, Lyle took on our tax return and books management without hesitation and without judgement for being underprepared (my label, not his). He turned it around in record time, being sensitive to some of our other financial applications that needed our returns early, and stayed late with me one night to get me and the books up to speed. In short, I came to him with a late request, with weak documentation and preparation on my end, and he turned it around and delivered excellent service. I also found him to be extremely considerate, kind, and sensitive to the stresses small business owners feel in their early years. I will be recommending him widely in the area and returning for his services regularly. Prepared Accounting far exceeded even my most ambitious expectations for great tax and accounting services.

I would pay a good deal more than the fee she charges for the quality of service her office provides. First of all, they never answer the phone. So I went to their office over a month before the filing deadline to talk to them about my situation and I was told they would need to file my taxes on an extension, but that they would be able to do them. So I emailed my documents and waited to hear back for a couple weeks. I went back to the office because I never received confirmation that they received my documents and the receptionist couldn't find the email. So I resent the email with all my documents and stayed in the office until I saw that they received the email. Fast forward to last Friday, weeks later, I hadn't heard anything from them about my taxes and it was almost a month after the filing deadline. I emailed them asking for an update on my taxes, to which they responded that the office was closing because of an issue that popped up two days prior. I asked if my extension was even filed, and they said they would check...and still haven't answered my question days later. I can sympathise that there have been medical issues and loss at the office. I cannot, however, make excuses for their consistent lack of communication, irresponsibility, and disregard for the clients who are placing their trust in them as tax professionals. I would've rather them tell me up front that they can't take any more clients on this year. But they didn't, and couldn't even inform me of their office closure. I had to check in with them for them to even bother saying anything. I am so glad I didn't owe this year, otherwise I would've been paying penalties because of this tax office. You are better off going elsewhere.
