Honestly a great experience for my husbands & I first time here. We were greeted with smiles right when we got in by Toni & Keisha. We were paired with Linda and she was very sweet & welcoming. I noticed she doubled checked her "paper work" and I really appreciated that. During our tax preparation the manager Toni, brought us water without asking, which was very generous! Poor Pro responses. Software allows you to make deductions that are not allowed. Fincen filing unavailable through the platform. Amended my return through a professional and got a better return. I will not file with HR block again. read more

I regret Yelp does not offer a negative star. STAY AWAY from this institution. Eraina Smith was my tax "professional" but she inadvertently paid my state tax to the IRS when she was supposed to pay the Franchise Tax board. Obviously I received a letter from Franchise Tax Board that I have a outstanding balance due. To which I spoke with them and compiled evidence that H&R processed the payment even showing my bank statement to prove as such. Fast forward 1 month and I met with Alba Martinez who was utterly useless and not helpful. Now they are telling me to go to their Torrance office since that is where her manager resides. I have to go out of my way to meet these folks who continue to deny any wrongdoing when I have proof. Group of unprofessional, rude folks here, do not get your tax done here. read more

I've been coming here for 3 years and this year just something else. I had a scheduled appointment at 4pm. Was seen until 4:40pm. Mary Anne didn't bother to tell me that my preparer was running behind. Would've been okay with that. When I wanted to pay.. I'm told they haven't been taking cards. No one bothered to tell me during those 40min? I could have done with no issue instead of wasting time. I called this place today after reading the great reviews to just be 100% disappointed with the woman that I spoke to. I believe her name was Rosalind. I had some basic questions about my tax forms and she was just being really rude to me and only cared to know if I was actually going to make an appointment. I had let her know that I did want to make an appointment but I had questions first and she just kept cutting me off and not letting me explain myself. I'll take my taxes elsewhere. This was my first time getting my taxes done so I was a little nervous l, but as soon as I walked in the door, I was immediately greeted by some of the nicest people I've ever encountered! They offered coffee and water and were so nice! I had my taxes done by Daniel who was amazing and really knowledgeable. He made me feel at ease and was great to talk with. I came here b/c I was so confused on how to file my taxes, due to me being a Lyft driver. It was really easy to make an appointment over the phone. The receptionist was so kind & she got me an appointment that worked with my schedule, even though I waited days before the deadline. When I arrived the receptionist paired me with Senior Tax Analyst; Candyce Roberson who she said is a pro at filing taxes for Uber, Lyft, & Postmates workers. Candyce jumped right into my taxes. She was extremely knowledgeable in every aspect that I had concerns about. She gave great tips and tools on how I could grown my personal business & ways to be better prepared for tax next years tax season. The manager Tommy, was great as well! The people here are awesome. I came in at 9 am and the people were wide awake and cheery, I was helped right away, and had my taxes done by a woman named Eui. She was super nice, answered a bunch of questions I wasn't sure about and helped me take care of everything. I ended paying way less than I expected, so I have no complaints. On 2/21/17 I called the Gardena office of H&R Block and made an appointment to see "Beverly" the next day at 10 a.m. I arrived at the office at 9:55 and was told by "Tony" at the reception desk that Beverly was with another client and would "be right with me". After sitting in the waiting area for 20 minutes,Tony went to check on Beverly and reported again that she would "be right with me". I waited another 20 minutes, after which I walked out and made an appointment with Jackson Hewitt. If Tony would have been up front with me about the 40 minute (or longer) wait, I would have rescheduled. Consigning me to "be right with you" purgatory was unprofessional and inconsiderate, I lost an hour of a very busy day. read more
