Horrible customer service overall! I went in last week to get my temporary emerald card after speaking with someone in customer service who assured me I can get a card at this location with no problem. I walk in with my kids and the receptionist is quick to say "I don't think you can get a card here.." she seemed confused and not confident with the information she had. I simply mentioned I already called customer service. She ran to the back to ask a manager and then told me to wait. After waiting an hour and seeing several people come and go. Not to mention literally hearing the receptionist talking about me to two different agents just feet away from me.... Finally someone that had seen me come an hour ago (another agent) said "omg why are you still waiting?!" She finally helped me and it took less than 5 mins to issue me a card. It seems like nobody wanted to help, including the branch manager who came out to randomly talk to people, I guess she didn't view me as a paying customer since I had already filed my taxes... read more

Abysmal service at this location, no communication in office and zero accountability. I met met with Jacob to start tax preparation about 3 months before they were due. He told me during that meeting that I would hear back in "2 days" about what I owed, and he gave me an estimate for about $200 for H&R service. I didn't hear back at all so I began to follow up with calling and messaging, I heard nothing back still for several weeks. Finally I called H&R corporate to help expedite the process, two months after my meeting with Jacob I was finally given the info I needed to file, and was charged $640 by H&R instead of the $200 he estimated. Fast forward a couple months and I get a notification from the IRS that I still owe an additional $200 because Jacob was incorrect with my tax prep, glad I spent the extra $40 on Peace Of Mind right? Not so right. I filed a claim with H&R corporate, I was told to cover the $200 myself and that my case would be put under review to see if the $200 was my fault or Jacob's. It's been about 4 weeks now and I have not been reimbursed for his mistake. If you want clarity/transparency with your taxes, H&R Block is NOT what you want, especially this location. I cannot quiet express how messy this situation was (and still is months later). I would highly recommend finding someone else to handle your tax prep. The person who did my tax prep made a mistake, however my larger frustration is that there is absolutely nobody here who is willing or able to rectify the issues that are still unresolved. read more

I was forced to make an appointment at this location because I have an out of state employer and apparently very few people at H&R Block can do out of state taxes. I didn't have the opportunity to work with this branch however, as they changed my appointment time 3 times, 2 of those times within an hour of my appointment. When I called to confirm my appointment time I was told that my appointment had not changed (it had), then when I spoke with who changed it I was brushed off. I am not comfortable putting my household's finances in the hands of such an inexperienced team that they can't properly take or hold an appointment. Look elsewhere for tax help. read more

Well they double booked our appointment time, and put us second, even though we were the ones in the books. The other was some verbal agreement they remembered the wrong day.... Also. Front guy was a space cadet. Internet was garbage, they just expect you to know what docs to provide. Don't waste your time and do it online. read more

My daughter has filed her taxes with HR Block at this address for years. She filed again this year. She has not received her stimulus check. Millie filed her taxes this year. My daughter has called and gone to this office to find out why she has not received her stimulus check. While there the staff tried to help her update her address in the IRS website, even though the adds has been the same for the last couple years, and she received her tax return. The IRS website has no record of her. My daughter has been given a multitude of excuses. She stopped by this office again and waited to speak to Millie. Millie left out the back door while my daughter waited for her. Clearly something was not done correctly in this office that the IRS has no info on my daughter, and she is not getting her stimulus check, at a time when she needs it most. Sara from HR Block, we have called that number, sat on hold for up to two hours, only to have it disconnect. That number is useless. Friends who used Turbo Tax had their issues resolved. Turbo Tax was able to look up the address the IRS had of file for them and correct it. They received their stimulus payment. Your office has not been able to do that. read more

I've been to this location twice: once a couple of years ago for a double-check of our self-filed return, and recently for the preparation of my family's 1040. PROS: Convenient location and hours. Never kept waiting. Staff is friendly and helpful. And our tax preparer was very thorough and worked hard to make sure we go the best refund we're entitled to. Her advice will be useful for the coming year. There is definitely a value to having a real person to talk to during tax prep, rather than using an online service. CONS: I'm not sure the $383 we paid was commensurate with the services provided. While it's true the Schedule C for my wife's small business and our mortgage interest deduction added a tiny bit of complexity, it couldn't have added more than 20 minutes to our preparation session. I also felt that the advice we received was mostly the same as what we might see using H&R Block's online tax software, which last year cost us under $100 for state and federal. (I imagine that Schedule C would cost a tiny bit more, but not that much more.) [Edit: My wife just reminded me that Schedule C on H&R Block's online website is included with the cost of the federal return.] I was also disappointed to not have the option to get our return in electronic format. Our preparer was confused when I requested a PDF copy (suggesting that might something for a computer whiz), and handed us 30 pages that I will need to scan myself. Even worse, our preparer had no access to our past returns filed using H&R Block's online software. We had to e-mail her a copy! (Luckily I was able to do so from my smart phone.) I can't help but notice that the tax preparers in this office fill out tax forms using online tools similar to what H&R Block offers their online customers. Why did I pay $383 for preparation this year? I'm not entirely sure I'll do this again. read more

The actual experience of preparing my return for 2019 was fine, but I was offered a review of my 2018 taxes for free. That was the first week in July, and dozens of messages to cell phones and offices later I still don't have my 2018 tax file back or reviewed as of the end of October. I realize there's been some unusual circumstances with covid shutdowns, but this is beyond ridiculous. read more

I usually do my own taxes but I recently got married, and also purchased a home, so my husband and I decided to let the professionals answer and solve a lot of our tough tax questions. We were serviced by tax professional, James Godlewski. James was knowledgeable, helpful, personable, and really explaining some intricate tax information at a level myself and my husband could understand. He was able to give great tips for next year and completed our taxes all in one quick (but informative) sitting.
