These guys are the worst! I'd give them a negative score if that were possible. The first time I went to H&R block two weeks ago was to the Washtenaw Ave office. We met up with a tax advisor who was unsure of everything. She went ahead and entered our details in the filing software anyway and told us that she would file it once we give her the go-ahead. After we did our own research, we realized that she hadn't filed it in the right way, so we booked another appointment - this time at the Eisenhower Pkwy office. We told the tax advisor we met with upfront that we had already had someone enter our details in the filing software, but we felt that she hadn't used the right procedure, hence wanted someone else to give it a second look and only then file it. She told us that she didn't know much about non-resident tax filing and asked us to come back at 4 pm to meet another tax advisor called Mary. If there are people with different types of expertise, that is something we should be made aware of before booking an appointment. The worst part was when Mary called and was very rude to us. She said something to the effect that it was inappropriate of us to expect her to re-do something that someone else had already done and that we should take it up with the manager of the Washtenaw office and not bother her with it. The reason we went to her for a second look was because H&R block claims that they do second looks for free even for new customers who have already filed for returns (to see if there is anything that was missed by the customer). I don't think it was unreasonable of me and my friend to expect them to take a second look at something that was flawed when we were going to pay for the filing anyway. That is really no way to treat a customer who has already received pathetic services from the firm. Basically I've had three interactions with them and all three have been extremely unpleasant. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more
