Instead, it turned into what felt like planning a small wedding. There's a $240 fee just to determine whether they even want to work with you. Not for actual tax work -- just for the privilege of finding out if you qualify for more meetings. Already we're off to a strange start. I called the office hoping to speak with an accountant. No accountant. Instead, I got a gatekeeper who immediately launched into an intake questionnaire that sounded long enough to qualify for continuing education credits. I'm sitting there thinking, "Are we filing taxes or applying for witness protection?" Then another staff member texts me asking me to confirm my phone number and email address -- information they already had, because they had just used both of them to contact me. Then finally comes the email inviting me to schedule a paid 30-minute appointment. If this is the process just to say hello, what happens when I actually need help during tax season? Do I have to solve riddles? Collect stamps? Get a note from a notary? I'm sure they work well for some people, but for me the entire experience felt unnecessarily complicated and oddly impersonal. Between the intake process and the hefty consult fee, I felt less like a customer and more like a job applicant.

As a plus, he can speak Vietnamese and Cantonese. So, he is a great resource for those of you who use English as a second language. He is one of the best accounts that I can recommend in the Denver area, especially for the Vietnamese/Chinese population. He is located in the top floor of the Far East Center near Federal and Alameda. If you've ever been here, parking is a pain the butt when it's busy here (and it tends to be very busy here). Also, there always seems to be a line for those who are wanting to see Neil. So, I would definitely recommend coming early and when you have a good amount of time on your hands. When you walk in, you'll just want to sign in with your name and information on the clipboard. You'll be called in when Neil is ready for you. While you're waiting, there's always a little bit of refreshments for customers. It's a very nice gesture, and one that I always looked forward to as a child. To keep you busy while you're waiting, there's plenty of magazines on the coffee table located in the middle of the waiting area. There isn't really any electric outlets to plug in a phone or a computer, nor is there Wi-Fi. But, a little time away from electronics never hurt anyone too badly. When you walk in his office, you'll see his office is lined with boxes pertaining to his restaurant/commercial customers. Just another way showing how trusted he is in the community. Neil will work with you quickly and efficiently on your taxes. Come prepared! We wanted him to tidy up our books, help change our filing status for our business and help with a transfer to QBO. But we were fed lines of crap on why he couldn't help. We switched firms for the 2025 tax season. When they were reviewing and prepping our books for taxes they found several things that should have been corrected a while ago and wondered why we were filing as an LLC and hadn't got a S Corp status. Well we were told we could only apply for S Corp status during a certain time, and we had missed it. Well come to find out that's not true. He could have saved our business a lot of money but he chose not to. Mr. Keeley has "offices"(he's not there and not staffed) in many states. He doesn't go the extra mile for his customers, he barely makes the block. He doesn't want to do your taxes if he doesn't do your books, but I didn't feel comfortable with that considering he never seemed to want to help or answer the phone. He's big on AI help, so that's who answers his phone. If I had a question I was given a very vague response as this was his way of persuading me to let him do the bookkeeping, basically saying I couldn't do it without him. My opinion you could get the same service using turbo tax and would be a hell of a lot cheaper. I would find someone who is more hands on and honest.
