Nicely laid out store with entrances for women's, kids and men's sections. That makes it so much easier to find what I wanted without having to roam around the whole store. Their prices were really good and the styles were really young and modern. Some of the items seemed a bit wimpy but some of the other ones looked really well made and sturdy. I think it really does depend on what time of the day you go to this H&M. After 5 PM on weekdays or any time on weekends, it's a warzone. Clothing racks in disarray, long lines, stressed employees, stressed shoppers, etc. Other times, it's fine. I had a pleasant time the other day (mid-day, during the week) shopping around & interacting with the staff. I lucked out with a cute pair of strappy heels in my size & a pair of 70s inspired sunglasses. I think the two items ran me about $45. I also had a good giggle with the employee who checked me out. She was super nice & helped me get set up with my H&M account to utilize a 20% off coupon. At the end of the day, it's still just an H&M - The quality of the items is not super stellar, but it's affordable, & you can usually find what you're looking for. Make sure you visit at an "off" hour for an immensely better experience. read more

The deals at H&M are reliable and plentiful. A lot of the product is hit or miss, but the reliability of it comes in when there's a product SO short on stock, that it ends up being $4 when, realistically, it's worth $12 or more. Their regular priced items are... not great. Styles are confusing, and often mismatched. Their sizes also run very small, and I end up being 4 or 5 sizes larger that I'd be in, say, an Old Navy. This particular location has two levels, each with their own checkout counters. Typically it's so busy that you'll wait in line for up to ten minutes. There's multiple registers, but only one typically is active (especially in men's). read more

I love and hate this place they have great clothes and especially for kids it's pretty much one of the only place in the shop but are usually order a lot of stuff online and if I have to return it and store it is really difficult it always takes at least half hour 45 minutes and I usually only have like 10 items back at a time so I'm not really sure what the deal is. So yes you should shop here but I'm not Lovein the staff because they areonly semi-friendly and if you have to order online and do a return good luck to you. read more

So, H&M has two kids' departments, one with sizes 1.5-10 years and one with sizes 8-14+ years. The website just lists that this location has "kids," without specifying which kids' department they mean. This particular issue is a problem with the whole company, and I've e-mailed them with no response. However, this store only has 1.5-10 years, and none of the associates know this. None of them know that H&M has two kids' departments, and none of them knew what sizes they carried. One tried to tell me both sizes were mixed in together, one tried to tell me the larger youth sizes were over in a corner in the adult departments, and one tried to tell me that the adult sizes pick up where 1.5-10 leaves off (no, this is not remotely correct). I finally talked to a manager, who said they don't have 8-14+ at that store, and "those are special sizes you have to order online." The manager didn't seem at all apologetic or seem to get what the issue was that the website says they have "kids," but the store doesn't actually sell any clothing that fits the kids I went there to shop with. read more

First off I do love H&M. It's a fantastic place to get stylish clothing for cheap. I do have problem with the Providence location. It's in the mall so it's much smaller than its sister stores in Boston or New York. Boston has all women's collections plus the men's line, children's line, and intimates. The New York store is I believe four levels stories. Even the new location in Emerald Square has a larger selection that the Providence location. The store is usually neat but there are times it looks like a hurricane came through. There usually is a wait to get rung out because there is no one at the register. Some of the associates are standoffish and look like they couldn't be bothered to assist you. Luckily for the customer there really isn't a need to deal with the associates beside ringing out and the dressing room. I keep going back because the clothing is cheap but I believe still well made. It is worth it making the pilgrimage to the Downtown Crossing H&M in Boston if possible. read more

I LOVE this store. The warwick mall location doesn't hold a candle to this store, as the warwick mall one has clothes that cater mostly to 16 y/os. Here I can find more sophisticated, yet stylish, clothes more appropriate for a 20 y/o. Prices are great as well! I can find a cute blazer for $30, comfy knit sweaters for $20, or shirts for &15. There are a ton of dressing rooms so you NEVER have to wait. That's a huge plus! There are different sections for different types of clothes and also areas for bags/shoes, scarves, jewelry, and makeup too. The only reasons I can't give this store 5 stars is because the customer service is seriously lacking. No one ever says hello or asks if there is anything they can help you with. You're basically ignored until you get the register. Even at the register the employees just go through the motions and are never interested, always indifferent and careless. read more

Love the collection that the store comes out with every season. However, the clothes are always two sizes too small, so if you take a size 4 somewhere else you are generally a size 8 at H&M. Yes you'll probably have a mental break down when you can't fit into you normal size but never worry because just think the larger the size the truer the fit to your actual size. Service there is absolutely horrible ! There are never any sale associates around to help you at the register or the fitting room. So if you were hoping that while you are trying on clothes that you'll get some assistance with a knew size or how you look don't depend on the girls working there. Generally the workers are too busy talking to be bothered with helping you. Also the manager with the long dark hair is incredibly rude and never brings you what you asked for. To even ask her to grab you jeans is like asking for her to move a mountain and you are greeted with a bitch faced stare off. read more

The new 2 level store is beautiful. Like a hundred times better than the old location within the mall. They've got a huge ladies department on the lower floor. Upstairs, men's has an awesome selection too. There is even kid's now which seems very well stocked as well. Lots of fitting rooms is a plus! Overall a really nice, well designed H&M. read more

I have come to this H&M probably over 60 times since I have moved to Providence. I always peruse the store when I am in the mall. I can never find anything I like. In all the times I have been to the store I bought one dress and about a week after I bought it I decided I didn't like it so I passed it off to my sister. I am always hopeful walking in and just sad coming out. read more

Really hit or miss with this store. I love getting really cute stylist clothes for really cheap but they do not make it easy to get them. It is often a mess in there and finding something I love is not always super easy. There is a high trash to treasure ratio so you need to be in the mood to hunt for a good look. I also of course need to try everything on bc a medium in one shirt means I need a large in this one or a US size this in something else. I guess that is every girls issue at every store but H&M seems to be the same. All things considered I keep going back because when I do get things there I normally love them and the prices are right. If you catch things on sale even better. Happy hunting girls. read more

I must say that this is the first time I've ever gone to a store to shop and have left without anything. I've been looking for a specific kind of Jean jacket I finally found about 2 different options at this location, my only issue they didn't have my sz I happen to check the one that the mannequin was wearing and it was my sz. The problem is I tell the rude guy that works there if he could get the jacket the mannequin had because that's the one I wanted to purchase. He goes on to rudely say no we don't undress our mannequins but there's more back there which I had to ask where because he didn't even care to show me. I go and look and nothing my sz one of the girls asked if she could call another store and see if perhaps they had it there. Please tell me why I need to travel to another store when you have it right there on the damn mannequin. I could have undressed the thing and put another one on her myself neatless to say this is the stupidest policy I've ever heard of and they clearly don't care to make money. read more
