I know, I KNOW, it's The Gap. But I want to write a review due to the lovely sales staff here…read more On a recent visit I was looking for new jeans. They were on sale. Hoorah! However, I'm a girl on the higher end of their size range and finding pairs of jeans in my size in some jean styles isn't always easy. I tried on a pair in a color I didn't like just to see that they hadn't changed the styles again (they keep doing that), and then asked the sales guy if it would be possible to find me a pair in a dark rinse (as there were none on the sales floor). While I'm well aware that any good retail employee *should* always do their best to satisfy the customer, this is very often not the case. Especially in London. And asking for a size on the larger end of the scale in Kensington has, in the past, been met with really rude words. It took him a trip to the 3rd floor stock room and a 10 minute search, but the super kind salesman returned victoriously with the ONE pair they had upstairs left in my size. And he was still smiling. You just don't get kind service like that everywhere. Especially in chains. And especially in Kensington.

High Street Kensington is local to me, and Gap is the store that I frequent the most. It's a large…read moreflagship store with three floors - as you enter you'll walk past a selection of womenswear, the lower ground floor is split into childrenswear/lingerie and then the upper floor is menswear. Granted the clothing isn't exciting, but I find Gap great for basics (jumpers, denim, vests, shirts, casual wear) and they cater for smaller sized women like myself (size 6). The quality is always perfect, and you definitely get value for money. I just wish that they'd have a greater selection of colours like pink and blue rather than black, grey and red!

I would be understating things if I said that I was a bit maternally inclined. I have wanted a baby…read moresince I was about 13 (for obvious reasons of parental disappointment I have postponed) and have turned in to one of those awful people that finds it physically impossible not to coo at another persons baby no matter how inappropriate the setting might be. Waking a baby up on a long haul flight to Buenos Aires just so that I could play with it is probably the worst example I can think of. While I'm not proud of this, damn that baby was cute and personally I think everyone had been sleeping too much anyway by that point. Fortunately for me, a few friends have recently become pregnant and this has given me a great excuse to visit baby shops and play with booties and the like. From the outside I had high hopes for Babye but once I stepped in everything changed. What I hadn't realised was that this was a designer baby shop featuring names like Ralph Lauren and Armani. Frankly I find the whole idea of designer baby clothes pointless and a bit disturbing. Why would anyone want to spend £70 on a Dior baby grow just to have the kid throw up on it within twenty seconds of putting it on. Who is the designer gear really for anyway? Surely the baby doesn't care what it's wearing so long as it's warm and soft so is the point that the mother needs to have her kid ready for the cat walk at any time. Don't get me wrong, I think it's quite sweet to spend a bit of money on a one off piece for a baby especially if there is a special event coming up but the day to day extravagance of this place made me feel quite uncomfortable. If you are willing to spend £150 on designer bed sheets your baby will no doubt crap on then Babye is your kind of place. The rest of us will have to thank god that BHS still exists.

Mums and babies can enjoy beautiful and contemporary products at this exquisite boutique. Review of New Look in Harrow…read more Today, I went shopping at New Look in Harrow and had an unpleasant experience at the checkout. When I was paying for my items, I asked if they offered a student discount. The cashier confirmed that they do and asked for my student card. However, when I handed it over, she told me it was not real because it did not have an expiry date. I have been studying at Harrow College for two years, and this card was issued by the college itself. I explained this to the cashier and even offered to prove it using the Harrow College student app, which clearly shows my enrollment status. The app also displays my photo, date of birth, and name, and I even had a class on the same day. Despite this, she refused to accept my student card, which was frustrating and disappointing. After completing my purchase, she asked for my email. I told her I would prefer a printed receipt if possible. Instead of responding professionally, she laughed sarcastically and said, "A student without an email?" which I found rude and unprofessional. When I asked for her name, she refused to give it. This experience was frustrating and unprofessional. I hope the store trains its staff better on customer service and how to properly verify student IDs.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STORE!…read more This New look has it all for me, Tall section! Ive just recently bought a coat for £35pounds, now for a leggy bird like myself that is a good thing because all the specialist tall shops think Iam rich, I could buy the same jacket at it would be 80 quid. What Nonsence! This New Look is pretty big and caters for all you have the average size chick, big chicks, petit chicks, pregnant chicks and teeny bobbers chicks clothing all under one roof. Fella's you are not left out too you got your section on one side of the store. When they have a sale on its a good one To complete that outfit they have an accesoriess section as well. Plus they play some crackin tunes while you shop. I spent the whole of summer looking fly because of this shop. I wish the section was bigger, but I know us tall chicks are a rare species so I will do with what I got. Because this New look is in the town centre they have great transport links with Harrow on the Hill(metroplotian line) station and bus station being 15mins away (depending on how long your legs are). You can have a day of shopping because their are a variety of shops not only clothing. You got your pubs, restaurants even VUE cinema. Cant wait to find my next glorious find, and come out with a new look.
