I know that the money goes to a good cause but if they sold things cheaper maybe they would sell more. St Leonard's Hospice is in York and I think they have about 6 shops across York too. They sell various things between them including furniture, clothes, and books. This particular one is in Haxby, which is a nice area, and the staff in this one always seem friendly.

So we went into this shop initially as a time filler but were glad we did. it was clean and well set out. We were in a while but because we wanted to be, no longer just to fill time.Just after this a friend moved to Thirsk and when I visited her I made sure that I made a return visit. As well as the Pharmacy that you find in every Boots store, there is also an Optician and Hearing Care facility. Prices are competitive, other than the food/drink section, which I always find to be rather expensive at Boots compared to rival chains, as they rarely seem to have any offers in that section, combined with higher prices before promotional offers even come into play too. The selection is reasonable, the staff were friendly enough and this is a good Boots location overall that I would return to on future visits to York. 4*

I made a comment about how my prescription was written up and she just turned around to speak with another member os staff enquiring if the item on prescription was in stock, she then just told me yo take a seat. You just know when someone's got an attitude so I asked how long it would be, she replied 10 minutes, I said I would return as I was now annoyed with the way she carried on. On my return I spoke with another young woman wear corporate livery and explained that I was collecting my prescription. I gave all the relevant details required then Miss Frosty advised the assistant dealing with me to check my mobile number. I nearly gave it but held back and questioned why I should speak out my private mobile number but if it was essential would write it out, I did manage to leave without having to provide this. On reflection I couldn't understand it as my prescription was for oral thrush not a controlled drug. The behaviour of the first woman I had contact with leaves a lot to be desired and I made it clear that I would try my best to avoid ever entering the premises again. I'm not sure if Boots staff training includes arrogance but on reflection it seemed to come naturally to this pharmacist. You have lost my custom and I know I didn't have to be treated this way as I have GP and pharmacy relatives who I've shared this experience with and they know I don't have to provide my phone number, incidentally this pharmacist didn't require such details from the woman she just served before with a prescription. So it shows clearly I was to be dealt with in a discriminatory way without me stating the bloody obvious.
