I went in several years ago. Work performed is adequate. I did ask him to clarify something on the print out he provided me, and he got noticeably agitated at me asking a question. After this I did not ask any more questions and left, but it left a lasting impression on me. Now after reading all the reviews/owner replies here, I feel compelled to write about my experience. Mr. Houman, hopefully you read this, and hopefully there is no communication barrier here, but I do want to offer my suggestion that you don't battle the negative reviews like this, I was about to take my car in again to your business as my first and only experience with you was some what neutral, even though you did make me feel uncomfortable after seeing your response to my question. I liked the experience because you are affordable versus other shops out there, but now that I've read your review responses to your critics I am 100% never coming into your shop again. Yeah you offer good value, but I definitely have no interest interacting with someone with what looks to be as much anger as you have. The groupon complaints here seem legitimate. Based on the groupon images people have posted here (I haven't seen your groupon ad personally) it seems to be missing quite a bit of disclosures on what qualifies, and that is your failing. Everyone here on yelp, and sounds like they pointed it out to you in person as well. Instead of trying to understand the root of your problem (poor disclosures on the groupon) you decided to dismiss peoples legitimate concerns and honestly you didn't really deal with the problem very well (See anger issues). Anyway, take it or leave it, but I am posting this as an outsider at this point seeing an obvious fixable problem. I came to H&E align service with a Groupon to get my car align. Before I came, the alignment was very off it got to the point my arm bothered me because i was holding the steering wheel straight. Bought a Groupon a month ago. Was in the area and had some time to kill after lunch. Stopped by unannounced and there was no wait. In and out in 20 minutes. No BS. I read the reviews before coming and I'm not sure what all the bad reviews spawned from. Most likely from miscommunication or misunderstandings. Owner was super nice and polite. He answered all my questions and took the time to explain the results of my alignment and give recommendations for future tire rotations. I work on my own cars but prefer alignments from professionals with the equipment. I used to do my off-road 2002 jeep myself because it's super easy but decided to take my mustang in as I just bought it 6 months ago and noticed uneven tread wear. He showed what specs were off and it matched the uneven wear pattern. He explained and confirmed and didn't try to upsell. He seems like a good dude so if you are skeptical from the bad reviews, don't be he was just fine! Also, he probably has the cheapest prices in the larger area. Most places charge $80-$130+ . Found the place on Groupon, bought said Groupon, went in and like others was told that my car would be $90 (higher than competitors) and was not valid for the Groupon and I should have read the fine print. The fine print says no 4x4's, which isn't the same as AWD unless you run H&E (look it up), and I paid the upcharge for 4 wheel alignment for an SUV. I'm sure the owner/operator will have an "iron clad" argument for why I'm wrong, but why risk it? If someone has a "not my problem" attitude, there's plenty of other shops that actually want your business and won't treat you like you're interrupting their day. If they person straight up says "not my problem" within the first minute of speaking with them, as was the case here, I'd definitely find somewhere else. Owner - just get off Groupon, stick to the people that "deserve" your business. read more

Edit: Read this guys responses to all of his negative reviews. Instead of providing good service or taking any responsibility, he just continues to insult people. Not surprising that he doesn't respond to me claim of his overcharging me, when his banner in the building says I should've been charged $55. He didn't refute his claim that he told me that he stopped Groupon 4 years ago, when I bought it last year and showed it to him and attached it here. In the end, this was just an unnecessary bad interaction. I'm sorry if Groupon didn't work out for you, but don't take it out on your customers. I didn't argue when him, and immediately told him I was going to pay for his service. (I know Groupon will reimburse me for what I've paid, which they have already done). I didn't insult him. I just asked him why he was being so aggressive and sounded like he was blaming me for his issues with Groupon. I told him I was a customer, and a paying one, so what did I do to get this type of reaction. I told him it was a CT200h and he asked if it was an F-Sport, which it is and he said it would be $95 instead of $55. I told him it's not a performance car and basically a Prius with a Lexus badge on it. But he was firm on that and nothing I can do so it is what it is. I told him I'd be there the next day around lunch. I went around lunch time and he said that it would be 20mins so I grabbed In-N-Out with my kids. Upon return, he asks, cash or charge and I told him I had a voucher with Groupon and his tone changes to anger immediately and says he doesn't take them anymore. I said ok, I'm not going to argue with you, (my kids were with me and it wasn't worth it). He goes on and on about how Groupon never paid him, which was over $10k for 223 cars which he serviced. That sucks but didn't add up since the voucher was $45 and 223 cars would be less than $10k even if he got all of the proceeds. I've dealt with Groupon in the past and they take 50% of revenue; at least that was what they offered us. So not sure how he was paid more than the services he provided. And not sure why they didn't pay him anything, unless he offered poor service and received complaints which I can now understand. He then mentions that he canceled Groupon 4 year ago, pre-Covid... I know that was BS because I bought it a year ago. So I'm looking at my phone to find the app/voucher, and tell him, I'll bet you $1000 that's not true and he says I bet you anything you want. And then 10 secs later, I find it and he says it doesn't matter... nice try buddy... plus, there are other reviews here within the past year mentioning the Groupon they used. So, I'm not sure why this guys so agro. I asked him why he was coming at me. Literally, it felt like he escalated the situation and wanted to go at it as soon as I brought up the Groupon. I'm the customer who bought a Groupon for your services and I said I would pay. They he lies about quitting Groupon 4 years ago. And then charges me $95, as a "performance vehicle". I saw a Groupon deal available for an alignment (for the record, the Groupon deal was well written and very clear that the deal was for non 4wd vehicles and available for use Mon-Fri). I called on a Friday to ask if my Honda Element was compatible with the deal. I was told on the phone by the owner that as long as the vehicle is not 4wd that it is compatible. The Honda Element is an "Real Time 4WD" which means that 99% of the time you drive with the front wheels only, then if there is slippage (off road, or on wet surfaces) the rear wheels will also do some work. From Wikipedia, "Drive is either front-wheel drive or optionally, all wheel drive -- via a hydraulically actuated on demand system that engages with front wheel slippage, marketed as "Real Time 4WD"." Since the Honda Element is not a real 4WD vehicle, I went ahead and purchased the Groupon. He also mentioned that the deal was not available for use again until Monday so I went in first thing Monday. When I arrived the shop was empty, the man that I spoke to on the phone on Friday came out and looked over the car. He told me that I could not use the Groupon for $65 because the vehicle was 4WD. I explained that the vehicle was not 4WD and asked why it mattered. Some background: I have been in the automotive industry for 14 years and I have never had someone tell me that there is a difference in aligning a 4WD vehicle over any other vehicle. The main differences in alignments are 2 wheel alignments and 4 wheel alignments (that is how alignments are usually advertised and priced). He told me that he had to purchase different specs. Basically, he was trying to tell me that the company that provides all the other alignment specs for the U.S. was going to charge him more (or again) for these specifications that he should already own since he is an alignment shop. I asked him how much for an alignment and he said $95. I scoffed and asked him what to do with the Groupon. He told me that was my problem. I went down the block to BeeLine Brake, Alignment, and Auto Repair. They got me right in (no appointment) even though they were busy, and the cost was $65 (no Groupon). It sounds to me like H&E is performing a bait & switch operation. They get people in on the Groupon, then charge them $30 more for a service that is available down the block by people who are actually nice. read more

Came here on a Sunday morning because this place opens at 8AM while other places don't open til 10AM. Found out it's $55 for sedans AND there's 20% off on Sundays, score! There was one guy in front of me and that went fairly quickly. I was in and out in about 30 minutes once the owner started on my car. It's tucked in the back of the In-N-Out on Garnet, right by some other auto shops. I'll have to update after driving my car around. But 30 warranty and the service was excellent! Even though it's much closer, I refuse to go to the Pep Boys because they are so awful. Great to have found this shop. read more

I took my Land Rover here for an alignment due to its proximity to discount tire. He did the alignment in 10 mins and charged me $90. No big deal, however the car pulled hard right about 3 weeks after the service. I remembered the 30 day guarantee so I called inside the 30 day window and he told me to come back and he would fix it for 1/2 price. WTF, his work was supposed to be guaranteed for 30 days not discounted. I went back anyways because I wanted to support a fellow poor, struggling immigrant. By the time I made it back it was 32 days after the service and he told me it would be $90 It's unfortunate because this man's shop is always empty. I went to the wrong place looking for a smog check station. I walked into this place asking if they did smog checks and they don't. When I asked him where the smog place was he spoke to me inappropriately and treated me like I was a child. He is very misogynist and when I asked him to not speak down to me he said well then I can't help you. Then as I drove off he proceeded to take pictures of my car for no reason at all. I'm all about supporting family-owned business but in this case I don't recommend him. In response to his comment below, he was not working but sitting down so I obviously was not interrupting. This guy is the king of scammers, STAY AWAY! I call 30 mins ahead for wheel alignment and tell him what car it is and its 45 dollars for wheel alignment through Groupon. I arrive and he tells me 90 dollars because high performance car ( a 2003 Mercedes E55) I tell him the adjustments for alignment is the same as a regular Mercedes e class of 2003, the only difference is suspension and the procedure is the same. And he says " I have had 3 of those cars before, I know what I'm talking about. " And please have some respect for your Groupon people as you were making fun of them by referring them as cheap. This place is awesome! I was recommended by a friend to come here to get my alignment done and this is the cheapest alignment place I've encountered. I came here specifically for the fact that it was lowered car friendly and the price of $45 for an alignment. This place is kind of hard to find (hidden gem) but it's in the In N Out plaza towards the back next to a body/paint shop. Unfortunately, the first time that I came here, my car could not make it up the ramp. Houman, the owner, is super friendly and accommodating. He tried several different attempts to try to get my car onto the ramp but all in all, my car was too low and I did not want to cause damage to my front lip by trying to force it on the ramp. I told him that I will be coming back soon. I could definitely see that he was disappointed because he really wanted to accommodate the lowered car clienteles. He said he will come up with another way for individuals like me so that this doesn't happen again. I came back a couple weeks later but I removed my front lip which made it so much easier to get on the ramp. Houman did a great job with my alignment and I was in and out in no time. He told me that I could come back anytime so that he could adjust my alignment if anything were to go wrong. Houman is genuinely friendly and you can tell that he really cares about his clients. Dismayed and disappointed in the unprofessionalism of this place. I showed up for my 2 pm appointment about 20 minutes early on a hot day, to find the shop door locked and the owner or whoever was to work on my car nowhere to be found. No note on the door, nothing. I tried calling, then waited and waited but no one ever showed up. I checked the shop next door and the man there was kind and courteous and explained that the guy (my appointment) took off half an hour ago, closing and locking the doors and leaving no word behind. I had this appointment for approximately a week and a half. Very annoyed. The location is a pain in the butt anyway with the line that in n out forms. Wow and wow! This guy is so nice!He gave me a fresh cup of coffee while I waited and was done before I could finish drinking it. He was polite and friendly and I reccomend him. The price was very cheap from a Groupon I had bought. I must say my car was waaay more balanced when I drove it out. I could tell he aligned it. One other thing...about a month later, I needed an LED headlight changed and in a hurry. I called him and right away he said bring my car by his shop. He charged me so little, I doubled it. Here's an update to better explain how shady this place is.... I dropped my car off here for an alignment and later called him to tell him it was doing the same thing. I take my car back and he tells me he can't do an alignment because a part is frozen. He then goes on to explain that he needs a special tool to do it and wants to charge me more money. Seriously? Ummm, the part didn't just magically freeze. So, no way am I giving this dude any more money. I'm not dumb. So, I take it to the dealer and explain what he said and they do the alignment and confirm my suspicions that he took my money and didn't do an alignment at all (because there was a part that was frozen) and thought I would be too dumb to notice. Not all females are ignorant about automobiles. I had 3 years of auto shop in high school and rebuilt a 351 Cleveland when I was 18. I don't know who's car he's talking about below but it's sure not mine. My car had 30k miles at the time and it was fully inspected at the dealer. No suspension problems at all. read more
