This is our go to for some yummy BOGO Gyros on Wednesday night! I get mine without onions but they have tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. Soft fluffy pita bread. I always add some hot sauce. Service is very friendly like they know ya. Food is quick...les than 3 min! It's fast!! It's a small quaint place not for a fancy crowd. But it's definitely for a comfortable neighborhood crowd. We're so glad we stopped into Gyro King--this place is a hidden gem and we'll definitely be back. We came in for the BOGO cheesesteak special (hard to pass up), and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Steak Bomb, and wow...packed with flavor, perfectly cooked steak, sautéed veggies, and just the right amount of cheesy goodness. Comfort food done right. My husband has celiac, and the staff was super accommodating. They made his cheesesteak as a bowl over a lettuce bed, and he felt confident eating there--which is huge when you're gluten-free. He loved it just as much as I did. We also tried the rice pudding, and it was the perfect finish--creamy, lightly sweet, and very satisfying. Great food, generous portions, and friendly service. Bonus for us: it's right across the street from where our Red Light Method studio will be, so we already know this is going to be a go-to lunch spot. Highly recommend checking them out! read more

Giving 1 star because this place used to have a good cheese steak and we would get the special on tuesdays the bogo but tonight the sandwich's were horrible. The flavor was bland , the peppers and onions were still crunchy and the steak was nothing like they used to use. Even the bread was different. Gross. Won't come back. read more

I do still recommend them because this is the first time I've ever had an issue. We ordered a pint of Greek chicken soup which was perfect & delicious!! A BLT with a side of Greek potatoes & a chicken Parmesan dinner. The pasta was great as were the Greek potatoes.. The BLT felt heavy & looked so good. I had to save it cause I was too full from soup & potatoes. Sadly I went to eat it & the bacon wasn't cooked. I thought it was just me but upon inspecting I can see it's pretty raw! It was a nice BLT if only I could enjoy it. I'm just hoping I don't get sick from the part I did eat. The chicken Parmesan was actually really good. Italian food is a tough one for us. We are kind of particular but decided to try it. So glad we did! Had take out wings when they were 2 for 1. Large wings and good portion. Sauces are very basic. Only buffalo hot / medium/ mild and for those that don't like sauces they have garlic Parmesan. I'm basing this review on delivery orders from this place. Their Cuban sandwich was a sloppy mess nowhere near worth the price. Their Chicken Parmigiana dish is tasty but very dry. We have to order extra sauce every time, for which they last charged us an extra $4. I lived in Chicago for 10 years. So I have eaten a lot of Greek street food. I like a good gyro every so often and I like to think I have eaten enough to know a good gyro from a mediocre or bad one. I had to do some work in the Palm Harbor area this day and I had not had lunch yet. I went in a nearby sub shop (Shlomo's Subs) and my "Spidey Sense" told me to just turn around and leave. So, I went to Gyro King across the street. The inside looks a little outdated, maybe even run-down. But they seemed somewhat busy and I was hungry. I asked the guy cooking what should I get, the Philly Cheesesteak or the Gyro? He said "We're known for both, they're both great!" The kid working the register muttered in a low voice "Gyros". OK, fine, I'll try it! I payed extra for fries and asked for everything on my gyro. In about 10 minutes a lady brought it out to my table and I started in. At first I thought there were no onions or tomatoes- but turns out there was just a very small amount under the meat. I would have definitely liked more. The overall taste wasn't bad, but nothing special either. The fries were OK, but again nothing great. In my opinion Gyro King is a "better than nothing" place to eat if you're in a hurry or there just aren't any better options nearby. read more

I love Greek food and came to find this takeout and dine in (order at the counter) restaurant when i moved to Palm harbor. I tried their gyros twice with my son and their fish fry on a separate occasion. Both times we came here, my son (age 12) says Little Greek is better. So I asked why. He says it just is. It looks better and tastes better. So today we went to Little Greek and I completely agree with my son. Here are the differences. Gyros King puts the tzatziki and tomato and onion on the pits bread and loads up the pita with gyros meet. This seem to make sense until you have half your bites are missing the tzatziki, tomato and onions. They do not add lettuce and they charge $12.99 for their regular sandwich. Little Greek places the meat at the bottom adds generous tzatziki on top of the meat, covers it in shredded lettuce, three slices of Tomato and onion. They serve it in a styrofoam container and it's bursting with ingredients for $8.99. Add fries for $2.69 while Gyro King does not offer any value meal options with fries however fries are available for $3.50 to $10. While Gyro King has some great two for one sandwiches five days a week and Gyros King also offers a much bigger menu with a vast selection of foods. Their dine in experience is adequate at best and the value and experience with their signature gyros sandwich was a 3 out of 5 for us both. read more

There are two counters at Gyro King, I have now tried both and like what we ordered (a lot!). Greek...w we had philly steak and philly chicken grinders- perfect! Flavorful and fresh, with great French fries, crisp and tasty - even with takeout. Got a Greek salad with our order, fresh ingredients, potato salad ok. Canoli for desert, I'd order again. For the Italian side -Brick Oven, check out daily specials/ one meal is enough for two! Saturday is bogo Chicken Parm...added salad and bread got $5, total under $20. Salad was fresh, bread fresh baked with seasoning and butter, size of a small pizza. We shared one of the meals and could not finish our 1/2. Recommend it! looking forward to trying eggplant rollitini and pizza. Watched lots of orders being made - all looked very good. Food and staff are five star. We ordered a pizza for the first time and were very pleased. Staff was very friendly and appreciative of our business. Definitely a better place than the corporate pizza companies and ranks highest in our book at Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs. Only reason a four star and not a five were the interior furnishings. Needs some TLC for dining-in purposes and make the front entry door more noticeable so first timers know where the entry is. BTW the chocolate cannolis are absolutely awesome. During the height of COVID nobody working here is wearing a mask. Not the multiple servers or the multiple cooks. I asked why no one was wearing masks when preparing food and apparently the owner doesn't believe in their staff wearing masks during a pandemic. Wow! This food is legit! 2 for 1 gyros on Wednesday made my life complete! So much delicous meat on them and the tzatziki was out of this world! The pizza ranks as some of the best Ive had. Loved the Greek Salad, so authentic and they put a scoop of potato salad in it! The dressing must be homemade. This place felt like hugs in my belly from Greece and I was delighted! I'm sick of this place, tried and tried again but with mediocre food, dry meat and downright RUDE customer service, I'll take my money to the Mobil gas station deli counter on Curlew or trek up to Tarpon to get a gyro. They will overcharge and mess up your order given any chance. Tonight, I placed a to-go order and expected the menu price because I was ordering half of the normal meat volume and asked politely to swap for more veggies. When I paid the blonde gal at the counter and told her "I would've ordered it as is had I know you were going to upcharge me $3.50, you should let people know next time the substitutions they're asking for cost more", she was indignant, and should not be working within a 200 mile radius of a nice beach town that should be catering and welcoming to tourists and locals alike. Ordering "extra" of something is a totally different story but explaining there is an upcharge for a simple swap of veggies for meat is something, as someone who worked in food service for 10+ years in Palm Harbor, that is considered standard practice and just common courtsey. I was afraid to send the food back and reorder for fear there would be spit in my pita given how nasty she was to me and hope the whole $1 they charged me for literally 1 olive helps them invest in employee training or finding better front of the house staff. This was the straw that broke the camel's back as I've had terrible service and food here many a time but do remember the good ol days when they were a decent joint given I've lived in pinellas county for 24 years.
