    "Melted" chocolate

We were stoked to find an organic market when we first arrived at Tulum, since I have dietary issues.. but we soon realized how outrageously expensive it was. Prices were close to or more than prices in SoCal. Found some unique products which we enjoyed, but when opening the coffee we bought, there were white bits scattered within the grounds which was concerning. The chocolate we bought was all a powdery color, like it had been sitting for a long time. When left in the car, instead of the chocolate melting, it became a powder. I now question how old everything is in this store. For how expensive everything was, I am very disappointed with the quality of the products sold. I wouldn't be as surprised if the products were much cheaper.

We came here on our first full day in Tulum. We bought a full breakfast package ahead of time for three of us. Absolutely fantastic. I wish we ate slower cause I felt like we rushed the experience. Everything was so fresh and delicious. From coffee to the beans. (I know right?). Great service, we were never rushed (we just ate fast). Didn't get a chance to see what else is on the menu, but we had coffee, orange juice, fruit platter, pastry, parfait, and eggs/beans/salad. Good stuff!

Gypsea Market & Cafe is like a Fresh Market / Whole Food in the USA. They have most all beverages, wine , liquor , beer. Fresh produce, grains , beans, vegetables, fruits. Honey comb honey even. Great place for fresh bread. They have a nice little cafe here that serves food, coffee, and it is very good. I would think twice on the swinging chairs, I could not find a comfort zone eating in them. But it is something different. I would come back here again. Update 1/24/2020. I have been coming here at least once a day since the beginning of the year. The people here and very kind , helpful in assisting you. If you do buy rolls , bakery goods , once purchased and taken out of the store are not returnable. There is a sign that clearly states this at the cash registers. This is for the safety of everyone that shops there. I did meet the owner Phillip, very nice person and he is very customer conscious.

Grocery store organic, vegan and gluten free items. Definitely a place to visit.

Omg the pottery and food was always well kept very well and staff is very helpful in finding certain organic, gluten free, and vegetarian items we're looking for .. since were a mixed family of different eating needs. Staff was always humble on entering and very knowledgeable and helpful in any need we're looking for. Highly recommend. I know prices are like American prices but worth finding the groceries as items we wanted.

Their own kombucha. Very thin glass bottles. It didn't never fall or what, If it did the crack would be at the bottoms not the sides.

over priced products, which i dont mind. but when u ask for an exchange because their kombucha blew up, they will not take responsibility about it. it blew up in our room like a bomb. bad quality bottle. stay away as much as you can; this place is a rip off. good thing i was away from my bed when this happened. they knew this shit blows up, another employee warned me about it. i let it rest and all. it blew up on its own. dont buy anything from this store. they dont do refunds or exchange for a product. i dont even need a refund. i just rightfully need an exchange. their cashier eduardo didn't do anything he said he cant do anything. he also said he doesn't speak english. but the other day i saw him speak english. this place is a scam. over priced low quality products.

Terrible shop with everything is way too overpriced. Example: Merlot casa madero 750ml costs in the wine shop next door "off the wine" 445 MXN (off the wine is an amazing shop btw) and in Gypsea the exact same bottle is at 680 MXN. This means 150% of the price that you can get 2 steps further. Expect EVERYTHING to be overpriced.

Customer service is awful and human decency and respect is not a thing here. Way overpriced. Cute place though.

The food is not good here at all. I ordered fish tacos and they were smelly slimy and dry. Could not eat.

I had a croque madame as well as this french toast with strawberries. It was delicious (I didn't love the croque madame, but I think it was made well). We also got a wide variety of drinks which I recall being absolutely delicious. As always in Tulum, the service was fantastic, enriching our overall experience. If you stay in Tulum and not on a resort, I recommend swinging over to this spot to try the delicious food for brunch!

I will admit though, my American palate is accustomed to food heavy-handed with salt and sugar and this was the first place we tried off the resort. There is no denying how fresh everything was! If you're in Tulum, I do think it's worth stopping by and checking out this place. If for nothing else, the ambience and the service. They are some of the nicest people we met in Mexico and everything presented was beautiful. I mean look at the art work for that french toast! Yes, that's french toast under that beautiful strawberry design. The mushroom quiche was good, but needed a little more flavor including salt. Like I said, probably just my taste buds. The coffee fell a little flat for me. I ordered an iced latte. My husband had a flat white and liked his for the most part. I love that they have live musicians stop by - there was a flute player and a guitar player in the short hour we were there and both were so good. Overall, the place has a cute vibe and is a great spot to chill and have some food and coffee.

These were some of the best refreshments I enjoyed on the trip. The juice wasn't over sugared at all. The coffee was smooth with a bold flavor. We sat outside after walking the town a little bit. It was very peaceful, yet you saw and heard lots of conversation. It almost didn't feel like you were in coffee shop. Our server was friendly and informative. I enjoyed the iced latte and my friend enjoyed papaya lemonade. There was so much foam on my iced latte, more than I've ever had anywhere. It was delicious and oh so refreshing. I loved the strong flavors. My friend's papaya lemonade was very refreshing and something I'd likely never gravitate towards because I love coffee so much, but if I ever go back, I'd definitely get it. The flavor was excellent. The sandwiches, pastries, and bread looked delish. Next time I'll try that as well.
