They stack bday parties every hour and the space feels so crazy with the parties overlapping. The good thing is that they allow for us to bring your own food and drink. We used to do gymnastics here for the kid classes but it became increasingly difficult to get into the jam packed classes. It's still by far one of the more affordable options for large bday parties in Houston though. Check it out!

We had to switch classes and times when he turned 3 and it hasn't been as fun for him as we had hoped. Little girls mature faster than boys and it's mostly girls in gymnastics. My boy is spunky I won't lie but he is also very talented. He has a strong mind body connection and has been complimented by the multiple coaches there. There's a bit of waiting between the different areas and today he came home saying he felt like his coach didn't like him and he wanted his old coaches back. They didn't have an opening so we went ahead and gave our 30 day notice. The office staff is top notch and gets everything done in a timely manner. Coaches Artie and Carlos were fun and knew how to keep my little guy active and intrigued. I know they are trying to amp up their preschool program and so everybody has to teach it but some child development training would be appropriate. When a little kid who used to love gymnastics asks not to go anymore and says he feels like his coach doesn't like him, then there's a problem.

I had been struggling to find an inexpensive, yet high quality gym that had a good variety of classes to fit my schedule. This location pretty much has classes all day long, I love it! So far I've attended Bodypump and cycling, and I highly endorse both. Something else I love is that they have Les Mills on-demand for the group fitness classes which means you can take a virtual on-demand class anytime there isn't a live class going on. They leave the rooms and equipment open so the possibilities are endless. FYI, the cycling bikes are compatible with SPD cleats.

I was a Y member for 10 years and this was probably my 2nd fave Houston area location after downtown. It did get busy during rush hour, but what doesn't. However, their prices shot up during COVID, they started limiting workouts and that lasted for ages, and became extremely shady with their finances. They still owe us $500 for all the money they charged us after we canceled, but the joke is on them, because I tell everyone their shady practices and they've probably lost a lot more than 500 in dues from me and a lot more than 50,000 in dues from the people I've told the honest truth to. The gym is clean and works well, though.

I love love love this swim school for many reasons. I have taken my daughter here for about 3…read moreyears. The only reason we are leaving is because we moved about a year ago and the commute is just not making sense for us anymore. I will try and be as detailed as possible (usually not my thing). I tried other places, especially right after we moved, but I kept coming back. Reason 1.) the coaches are so amazing and caring. We had coach Tina First, then coach Steven, and then back to coach Tina. Both are just amazing. I started my daughter at just under 3 years old, and she really progressed with her swimming. She has no fear of the water, and she has a great foundation. She can float, breathe, backstroke, swim under water, and is working on her freestyle. Reason 2.) I took her to another popular swim venue, and they dropped her in the water with a bunch of kids and said "swim" to test her level. She's shy. She acted like she didn't know how to do anything and they put her in beginner 1 lol. So, back to Saint Street. I love the individualized attention, even in the group lesson setting. They always know your child by name and know what your kid is capable of. Reason 3.) Parental Comfort. Haha! This is an important one for me because I had a second baby while my first was in swim lessons. Another swim place I shopped wanted me to stand outside (in the hot sun) with my baby stroller (and my crying baby) 3 feet from the pool just in case something happened to my swimming child. No. Get a lifeguard. I went right back to Saint Street Swim to my air conditioned observation deck. If you want to be right there with your swimming child you certainly have that option, especially when they roll up the glass doors. It's a very pleasant atmosphere. I enjoyed our years at Saint Street and hope to find something tolerable (if not comparable) on my side of town.

Automatic billing in a month in advance so you cannot do anything if you are displeased. 3. Do not miss a class... ever, Saint Street will not allow you make it up, move your schedule or get a refund. 4. There are no clear goals or timeline to move on. It's their discretion so you just keep showing up, paying and hoping. 5. Three kids to an instructor so your kid actually only gets about 8 minutes of instruction and then the rest is them sitting on the side. 6. My truck was broken into in their parking lot and all I got was a "sorry"

They also had kid classes and camps which is great for my nephews. And, it's a great crowd to go get a beer with after Thursday practice. They have their first class as free. If you're going to visit, I highly suggest taking advantage and get a feel for this cool group. Coach Liz, Dan, & Benoit are the friendliest people around.

really wanted to leave a better review, but unfortunately my experiences at two different locations…read morehave been consistently disappointing. At both locations, we were not greeted and were given little to no explanation of what the class would involve. Everything felt vague and unorganized, which made it difficult to know what to expect or how to participate as beginners. At the Houston location, the gym space is split between kids' classes and adult classes at the same time. The kids were extremely loud, making it very difficult to hear the adult instructor. While we did receive slightly more instruction there than at the Pearland location, we later found out there was miscommunication about adult classes--Pearland primarily hosts children's classes, and the only consistent adult classes are at the Bellaire location. As new fencers, it was overwhelming being dropped into classes with experienced fencers without any structured onboarding. A beginner-focused program--such as a 6- or 8-week introductory course--would make a huge difference in helping new students feel confident and supported. During our class in Bellaire, the coach also disappeared at one point while we were fencing with others, without any explanation. We had no idea where he went or what we were supposed to do, and ultimately left out of frustration. Overall, this company could greatly improve by having clearer communication, better organization, and more structured programs for beginners. With some improvements, this could be a great place to learn, but in its current state it's been a very frustrating experience.

A walk through of the class: They begin the class with warm ups (running, jumping, balance and some flexibility activities) They play little games little red light green light but modify it using fencing terms that help practice their stances. They work alone with their gear on then move to partner activities. It is fun for kids and helps develop good characteristics (balance, obedience, coordination, responsibility, communication, teamwork, and more) I've noticed private lessons but don't know what they entail. Seems great for all ages.

Alliance fencers also are extremely successful at the university level, with high school athletes commonly going on to be recruited to collegiate fencing programs at Stanford, Princeton, UPenn, Columbia, Northwestern, NYU, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, the Naval & Air Force Academies, and many more-- with many students receiving full or partial scholarships to their school of choice. The coaching staff is headed by the current U.S. national women's epee fencing coach Andrey Geva and a group of stellar assistant coaches. What's truly unique about Alliance is that all of the coaches give the same level of attention to each of their students, whether they are working with a beginner or Olympic medalist. Alliance is a very family oriented club and a perfect environment for kids of all ages to correctly learn fencing (with the proper technique and supervision) and have fun with this amazing sport. The kids classes in particular (ages 5 and up) are a perfect introduction to the sport and are a great learning environment for new fencers, with games, drills, and supervised boating by the instructors. The club also has a great group of adults, both at the professional as well as recreational/beginner level. I started fencing here when I was 9 years old and have had countless doors opened to me thanks to the fencing skills I have built at Alliance, including a full athletic scholarship to Stanford University. I've had the opportunity to travel the world doing a sport that I love, making incredible friends that have become family, and becoming stronger, healthier, and more equipped to solve daily challenges. I could not recommend this club or its instructors more.
