Someone recommended Hot Topic, and I really couldn't stomach the idea of going in there. Spencer seemed like it might be a good alternative. Sure enough, we found a Brobee doll/pillow that is almost as tall as she is. Consider her one happy 22 month old baby. I'm sure we'll return for more. The store is a big pile of random stuff, but surprisingly well organized and with helpful staff.

At this Armani, they sell a nice selection of dressy and casual clothes for both men and women as well as outer wear and sunglasses. There were two women working on the day I was here and, although I didn't need any help, they were friendly and told me about some of the sales that were happening. The best thing about Rue 21 is that the clothes are cute and they are affordable. I don't go here and buy mini-dresses or anything like that, but today they were having a sale so I scooped up some "thin" t shirts to wear now that the heat is out in full force. Rue 21 is pretty much a rip off of Forever 21 which itself is a rip off of H&M and they sell the same type of clothes that you probably shouldn't expect to last a lifetime. I was looking for yet another dress to take engagement pictures and I was given great choices and lots of time to try on everything in the dressing room. I was also informed that I could return the dress if I ended up changing my mind about it for store credit. I went to the "attended" donation center at 6235 Claiborne and there was either no one working…read morethere, or they were asleep. There were donations piled up on the sidewalk by the door. I stepped inside and didn't see anyone, so I put my items in the big blue collection tub and left. This was my second visit to this location. The first time, the attendant didn't come to the door. I looked inside and he was off to the side looking at his phone and just said " you can put the stuff right there" and gestured. I think some adult supervision might be needed at this location.

I remember the days when the clothing at Rainbow was so cheap that it would rip as soon as you washed it. While there are still clothes like that (if you can see through it, it's a good idea to hand wash it), the quality of other things has been stepped up a notch. I saw super cute dresses, tops and skirts for reasonable prices, that don't look as if they just came off of the discount rack. It was right before the Saints NFC Playoff game, so shout out to whoever had the bright idea to put the black and gold clothing in front of the store- that was pretty genius. I saw a really cute polka dot skirt that I almost got, but I blanked on what I would wear it with and I'm trying to be more responsible with my spending these days. However, it was only $17, so I was super tempted. This store also has kids clothing and a small shoe and bag selection, if you're looking for something low priced to pick up in those departments. This really is the type of place you shop if you need something quick and easy that you know isn't going to last a lifetime.
