Clearly, this chain is in expansion mode, as it has now come to a primo destination, the crowded campus of UQ. There are good things to be said about it. This location seemed well run when I visited, with quick service and solid tracking of order numbers, and if you're getting it to go, there's a salsa bar and you can fill a cup and get some utensils while you're waiting. And while Australia is an awfully long way from Mexico, there seem to be quite a few Spanish-speaking employees here.
I can't quite get excited for their menu, as it offers a variety of tacos/burritos/etc., but only one veggie option among their fillings. It is reasonably good, and comes with some fairly diverse vegetables, but only a small number of beans in my experience (which is really where a lot of the nutritional value comes from). What I will say is this: you can have them make whatever you get with some spicy sauce inside, and you can dump some spicy salsa on the outside, and if you do it can be seriously (and pleasantly) painful. All told, they're not doing too bad, but not quite at the level where I'd go there if I had time to make my own lunch. read more
