Guy's Towing - Guys towing our truck - Tires Near Me - Key Largo, Florida

This "guy" WILL try to rip you off!! After having had a good experience with them several months ago at their old location, I went back again today for a similar service. Back then a skinny guy with black hair, who looks of middle east descent, attended me. He removed 2 old golf cart tires from their rims and installed new ones I had purchased from Amazon and charged me $30.00, which I thought was reasonable considering it was a Sunday. Their old shop at 99275 Overseas Hwy was very well equipped (store front picture, yellow building, still showing in their listing). They have moved to 98468 Overseas Hwy, which is a big storage yard where they have a medium size Shed, inside of which they have the machine to change tires. The place is certainly not customer friendly or safe for any decent person to be around waiting for tires to be mounted. Frankly I seriously doubt they even have a permit to operate this kind of business at this new location. Today I took two new trailer tires I purchased from Amazon to mount on my rims. I had already taken off one of the old tires, the other one had it still on the rim. The same skinny guy attended me. He took the tires and rims inside the Shed and closed the door. I waited outside. After about 10 minutes a fat anglo guy drove in, got out of his car and went into the shed. A few minutes later he, the fat guy, came out of the shed and said to me that it would be $80.00, $40.00 each because it had to be done by hand, and it was all done. I responded to him that the other guy should have told me that it was going to be that much before doing it. I would not have had it done if i had to pay that much. I had $40.00 in my pocket. I offered him that, he said no, I said take them off then, which they did. It took the other guy less than two minutes to remove the tires from the rims! AND he used the machine! If the owner of this business reads these reviews, which looks like he does, (and he's not the fat guy), I would suggest he gets rid of the fat guy. He's no good for the business. He certainly will steer away any possible repeat business from any customers who happen to fall into his trap. And of course cause someone like me to write a review in every possible public forum to let people who read them know about my experience with this "Guy". Update: I ended up mounting the two tires at home using simple hand tools. It took me just a few minutes. As it turns out, this SOB busted my valve stems, making them useless before he handed me back my rims. I do believe in Karma though. It will eventually hit him when he least expects it. As they say, what goes around comes around. read more

The worst experience I've ever had in any service I've ever been a part of. Fortunately for yelp, this terrible service has motivated me to actually use the yelp rating service. Towing truck had extremely young and shady guys. They offered me cheap service if i go to the bank immediately and bring them cash. When I come back with the cash they charge me double and say that took more than 5 minutes. I tell them "didn't you say 15?". They tell me "No, my employee said 15. Im the owner. Its actually 5 minutes. Sorry". Company is closed on weekends. They gave me a card to call for complaints. A lady with the most attitude you will ever hear on anyone picks up. I explain my situation. She calls me a liar. Bottom line, if you want to get scammed out of a lot of money and get treated like dirt, these guys are for you. read more

Saturday, 16 Sep 17. 6 days post Irma. The night before I got a flat on the 18 stretch. Changed it quick and crashed at a friends. Called around in the morning to get my main fixed and they were the only ones that answered. the lady (I can't remember her name, I'm sorry) who answered told me to wait 20 minutes, someone will meet me there. Don't take my word for it, just search Google for the various news articles and complaints towards Guys Towing for their ridiculous towing fees and illegal business practices. I had my car towed by these guys (after hours) and they charged over $500 the next day to have it returned, and there was nothing I could do about it, due to the unregulated Towing laws in the Upper Keys area which Monroe County fails to address, even as the complaints pile up. Even other towing companies in the area claim Guys Towing fees to be ridiculous to the point of extortion. I had to involve the police as I was sure it was illegal to charge that much for towing and there must be some limit to the fees, but they let me know that while they get so many of these complaints, there is nothing that they can do about it, and they cannot force them to lower the price, since the laws are unregulated in the area. Key West laws were recently changed for the towing fees to max out at $135, but unfortunately the Upper Keys area has lagged behind, even though it is a major complaint within locals, and tourists have commented not returning back to the area due to the large risk. "Don't park in a tow away zone and you'll be fine!" Yeah I hear you, thing is we were parked in a perfectly legitimate spot and they still decided to tow us, and claimed they were "just following the owners orders and their contract", even though it was an illegal tow. What type of corrupt business is this? If your a tourist in the Upper Keys area, pray you don't get towed as you will be losing over $500 of your vacation money getting your vehicle out, with no legal recourse on your side. And apparently the Monroe County Commissioner Sylvia Murphy has better things to do than to fix fraudulent businesses in her jurisdiction, even claiming she "dropped the ball on that" and "other county business" has taken priority. She may think it's bringing in revenues from tourists, but its actually doing the opposite as they will never return, and then tell their friends not to either. read more

This company absolutely SUCK I had them tow my car from my mom's house after blowing the engine and after both me and my family forgot to remove the tag from my car it got towed away as well and it didn't dawn on me that the tag wasn't removed till I received a toll by plate in the mail looking at the date I kept saying I didn't have my car on this day that's when it hit me the tag was still on the car with was my fault, but being that they are supposed to be business men they could've at least contacted me I mean hell I live right across the street from that run down ass shop they own I had my sister go over to the shop because I was at work and of course they gave her some bullshit story and told her I would have to file a police report and do whatever after that so I went to the DMV today to suspend my tag temporarily and to my fucking surprise when I come home my tag is hanging in my front door those piece of shits had it all along and I guess figured sooner or later I wasn't going to stop until I got my shit back that was some shady shit they did and if I had anything to do with it I would make sure those fuckers went out of business read more

I was involved in a motorcycle accident a few years ago on 9/18/2010) I was rushed off by ambulance to the nearest hospital. Luckily I only needed 12 stitches in my shoulder and had a broken foot. But anyways, my motorcycle was towed from the road by Guy's Towing. Knowing tow companies charge for storage, I wanted to get it out of there as soon as possible. I called the tow company and he told me that the tow company was closed on the weekends. So I had to wait till Monday. I drove 50 miles from my home to get to this tow company. They seemed super nice and asked if I was alright. I thought this company seemed ok, until I got the bill. $555!!! I was like WHAT?!? Knowing that I really had no choice, I asked if they take credit card. Nope. How bout a check? Nope. Cash only. So knowing that I really needed to get my motorcycle back, I had to go down to the ATM and get the money. After paying my bill they explained the charges. $25 Administrative Fee. $60 Mileage Fee ($6 a mile since I only crashed 10 miles away). $200 Towing. $150 extra because it took two people to get the bike on the truck. (Which I can not verify because I was in the hospital) and $120 in storage ($40 a day and to me Saturday to Monday is two days, but they charged for three).
