Y'all, lemme tell ya... the bigger snack had me grinnin' like a possum in a sweet potato patch. I've been coming to Freddy's here in Tuscaloosa since it first opened, and while I've always had…read moresolid experiences, today was by far the best visit yet. I ordered the Freddy's Original Double, which I've had plenty of times before, but today it just hit different. The burger was cooked perfectly--fresh off the grill, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The toppings were spot on and balanced just right. When a burger is dripping with juices as you bite into it, you know it's done right. Nobody wants one of those dry, Sahara-desert burgers where you need a sip of water after every bite. This one definitely wasn't that. If the burgers are cooked like they were today every time, this place would be slam packed 24/7. The service was great too--quick turnaround, friendly smile at the register, and good food on a Sunday afternoon after church. I also noticed a Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich on the menu that looks like it might be fire, so I'll definitely be back soon to give that one a try. Great job today, Freddy's. Keep turning out burgers like that and you'll keep me coming back.

If it had only been a few minutes before closing, we never would have gone in. When we walked in, the two employees behind the counter immediately seemed annoyed that customers had arrived. We stood at the front counter waiting to order for about 15 minutes. During that entire time, neither employee acknowledged us, made eye contact, or even said they'd be with us shortly. Instead, they slowly walked around, appearing visibly irritated and mumbling under their breath. I kept thinking someone would eventually help us, but after waiting that long without even being acknowledged, we finally left and went somewhere else. I was honestly shocked because I've never experienced service like that before. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food since we never even had the opportunity to place an order.

I didn't try anything else on the menu, just do it. A taco a burger is a throw back to the old Taco Bell "Bell Beefer" if you're old enough to remember them. A nice soft bun, ground beef, cheese and a little lettuce and tomato. Perfection. They nailed it! If the line seems long (4-5 cars) don't worry, it moves fast and seems to be a local favorite. To finalize this spot, it's good trashy American Mexican food, the Taco a burger is not some authentic Mexican dish, it's a taco on a bun. Enjoy and don't forget to order a large sweet tea!!!!

I got the chicken gyro with lentil soup. The chicken gyro was good but a little bland and small. The fries were good and well seasoned. The lentil soup was just not good at all. It was a broth consistency, and I've only ever had a thicker robust lentil soup. I tried doctoring it with salt and pepper, but to no avail on being able to eat it. My finance's gyro plate was great though! The meat was 10/10, Taziki sauce was nicely flavored, good texture and season on rice, nice Greek salad and lots of gyro bread. Service was fast and staff were friendly. Tables weren't clean, but it looks more like a college place to go. Rating: (7.5/10) Visited Slim Chickens in Tuscaloosa and…read morethe experience was solid. Clean space, friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere--like Zaxby's and Raising Cane's with a hint of Chick-fil-A. I had the six wings tossed in Korean BBQ, fries, and Texas toast. The fries were a highlight--crispy, well-seasoned, and tasty. The wings, though, lacked seasoning and the sauce tasted more like teriyaki than Korean BBQ. Flavor seemed to rely on the sauce alone, not the chicken itself. Still worth a visit for the vibe and service. Just don't expect bold, seasoned flavors in every bite.
