This Italian family-run cafe is a lovely place to rest your feet when out shopping in the Warwickshire indieness of Leamington Spa. Narrow, but spread out over three floors there are plenty of choices of where to sit for varying ambiances. The dark wooden fittings throughout bring a continental European feel to the cafe. My favourite spot is out in the back where there is a naturally well-lit garden room that runs the length of the back of the cafe. Here you can sip and sup surrounded by Italian themed ornaments, including everyone's favourite Disney puppet Pinocchio. A classic guitar hangs invitingly on a stand. (I'm not sure if it's for general use, it might be for scheduled performances only, but it's a nice idea to think that you could just pick it up and play.)
Drinks and food? They serve very good Cafe Con Leche. The tea is from the huge and tasty Teapigs range, and the juice is fresh. Although we don't eat on this occasion I notice that he salads are something special in terms of ingredients, size and presentation. That's a rare thing. Friendly smiles all round, encourage us to leave a tip when paying the bill. read more
